VIVIAN
As I reached the blackwood mansion, it looks so new to me and I miss the scent of the garden and the mansion, the house is very huge and it’s one one the largest mansions in the world.
I drove in and I saw different huge cars packed in front, I knew something big was going to happen, as I stepped out from the car I saw some ladies in black uniform welcoming everyone.
“Welcome Miss Vivian we have been expecting you ma’am ” They all said aloud and bowed
With a smile I accepted their greetings turns out Kian already cleared the way for me because I am sure Martha and Mira will do everything to try to stop me from entering the mansion and I was led inside by the girls.
As I walked my heels made sounds, clicking on the tiles as the sound echoed through everyone’s ears, breaking the silence it was a sharp distinct sound that demanded attention, as I entered the main meeting hall, everyone’s eyes was on me. Martha’s eyes locked onto mine as I took the step forward.
I bowed and one of the girls gave me a sit beside Kian.
Mira and Martha was shocked about my appearance and I could see the shock in them trying to ask one of her maids how I entered, the maid shaked her head signaling her that she didnt know how.
I smiled... And I saw a lot of rich men but I am sure they dont know who I am.
The female lawyer, dressed in a crisp black suit, stood at the front of the room, surveying the gathering with a practiced gaze. "Welcome here, everyone," she said, her voice firm and authoritative.
I couldn't help but wonder if she was the one who had called me the other day. The voice on the phone had been deep and masculine, but maybe she was his partner.
The lawyer cleared her throat, drawing my attention back to her. "Since everyone is present, I will begin now," she said, her eyes scanning the room once more.
She paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "We are gathered here today to discuss about the last will and testament of the late Mr. Edward Blackwood."
I felt a pang of sadness at the mention of his name, his passing had left a void in my life.
The lawyer began to read from the will, her voice steady and clear.
“I Edward Blackwood, declare the following to be my last will and testament. I Edward whether living or deceased, I will have this will executed on the 20th of June 2023”.
Everyone went silent but Martha raised her hand signaling the lawyer to keep up and fasten it.
The lawyer cleared her throat again “I have some hidden funds which is 18 trillion, 2 trillion in a separate account, I also have...”
Martha stood up and yelled “what!!!”
“Oh Jesus” Aiden said his eyes filled with shock, but Julian kept quiet eager to listen to who the next CEO is going to be.
Everyone was very shocked to hear Grandfather hid such amount of money.
The lawyer looked very angry and frustrated “i would appreciate if you let me finish? You should sit down.” she said her face filled with anger.
Martha was very shocked, while Mira pulled her back so she could sit down.
The lawyer continued as she opened the will again “I will have the entire 20 trillion given to my daughter inlaw Vivian, I am so sorry for everything and I apologized on behalf of Kian and his mother and also, the entire money can only be withdrawn if she comes in person”.
At first I thought I was feeling crazy when I head my name “all entire 20 trillion should be given to my daughter in law Vivian” it felt like a dream to me “The entire money should be given to me? What did I to deserve this from grandfather Edward” I said to myself as tears rolled down from my eyes
“Are you crazy?” Mira yelled at the lawyer. “That is fake, its impossible”she added her body shivering in anger and jealousy.
“Please everyone calm down and let me finish talking” the lawyer said. “Who is Miss Vivian?” the lawyer asked her gaze searching for who I am in the room.
I raised my hand up slowly and she nodded, everyone’s gaze was on me, now I am going to have more enemies.
The lawyer cleared her throat again “I will continue reading it” she said
“I also have 10 million in my other bank accounts, I will have that given to Martha, I have a vacation house that should be given to Mira on one condition , that is if her child belongs to the Blackwood”.
Mira adjusted from her sit feeling uncomfortable and I could see she was sweating heavily.
Martha’s gaze focused on the lawyer, she was so angry and shocked but she could not say a word.
The lawyer’s gaze focused on the book as she continued “Aiden and Julian should also be given 10 million each, As for the Blackwood company it should be decided by the committees of the company which names are included here (Alberto one of the richest man in Russian, Isabella Valencia my closest female friend, our family publicist Robert Smith, My secretary which is the COO of the company Frederick Jones and Vivian Everhart, I trust their judgement, and lastly ....”
Kian’s face brightened with a big smile on his face.
Martha interrupted the lawyers speech “Wait, what there is more? Why was Vivian included in such an important matter in the family like that” she yelled.
The lawyer nodded and continued her speech “Lastly, the Blackwood mansion which we all live in should be given to VIVIAN”.
I felt a surge of surprise at the mention of my name. I had expected to receive something this huge.
Finally, the lawyer finished reading and looked up, her eyes scanning the room once more. "Are there any questions?" she asked “But before I ask any questions I was also asked to ask y’all if you want what was given to you” she added
Everyone felt unease but they nodded angrily and said yes, but I hesitated turns out everyone was also waiting to hear from me if I am going to accept such a huge money, house and responsibility
I hesitated, unsure of what to say. But then, I saw Martha, her eyes flashing with anger as she looked at me, I knew she wanted me to say yes, her hands on her legs as she tightened her grip and I knew I had to speak up. This is my chance and I can not decline it, I faced Kian but then he replied me with a smile giving me a go ahead to accept what his grandfather left me for me and I had no choice than to respect him.
"Yes," I said, my voice firm.
