Chapter 155 155
Venessa’s POV
My parents were married three days after we arrived at the palace.
My father was done waiting. After everything we had survived, everything we had lost and regained, he refused to waste another moment. My mother, on the other hand, was still reeling. So much had happened so quickly that words failed her entirely. She barely spoke about it not because she didn’t want to, but because she didn’t know where to begin. Still, our actions spoke for us. They proved we hadn’t lied, that everything we’d told her was true.
Uncle Carlton attended the wedding, standing proudly beside the two kings and every Alpha in our world. As a general, Alpha Carlton remembered everything that had happened every war, every loss, every betrayal. This time, though, his joy was unmistakable. His sister was alive. Alive in a way she hadn’t been before.
Our devotion, loyalty, and reverence for Atabey only deepened. She had restored everything that had been taken from us and blessed us beyond measure for our faithfulness and service. What she gave us was worth far more than anything Eshera ever could have offered if we had helped that evil thing win.
We were grateful truly, profoundly grateful.
A week later, we left the Lycan Kingdom to prepare for our own wedding, which would take place there a week after that. First, we had to return to the Blood Moon Pack to finalize the divorce, while my parents remained at the palace to help with the wedding preparations.
When we arrived at Blood Moon Pack, we learned that Jalisa had already processed her divorce papers. All my mate needed to do was sign them. Once he did, it was done.
The divorce was finalized, and that’s when we made the decision to have a double wedding.
Jalisa and Tyrell.
Denzel and me.
I also noticed how quickly things had progressed between Rayon and Tonya. Rayon had already placed a ring on her finger, and their wedding wouldn’t be far behind. I was genuinely happy for them. Tonya and I hadn’t been as close as before we hadn’t followed the traditional path, and somewhere along the way, we’d drifted. I resolved to spend time with her again, to reconnect and reclaim the friendship we once had.
Then we returned to the Lycan Kingdom, and before I could truly breathe it all in, the wedding day arrived.
Jalisa and I walked down the aisle side by side, each of us escorted by our fathers. Fabian had finally recognized the depth of his mistakes. He no longer treated Jalisa as something shameful or disposable. He accepted her fully openly as his daughter.
Everyone was there.
Every Alpha. Every King. Every soul that mattered.
It was a grand wedding, larger than anything I had ever imagined.
When my father delivered me to Denzel, he kissed my forehead, then turned away to sit beside his wife my mother, the Queen. I looked up at Denzel, and my vision blurred as tears filled my eyes.
Once, time had hunted us. It had loomed over us, threatened to steal our future before it could even begin. But now now every dream had unfolded exactly as we’d prayed for. Every silent plea had been answered. We would grow old together. We would have children, raise them, build a life filled with love and peace.
There was no clock counting down.
No shadow hanging over us.
We were finally free.
We were finally happy.
When it was time for the vows, Denzel went first.
“My darling Venessa,” he began, his voice steady despite the emotion in his eyes. “I have loved you from the moment I first laid eyes on you. Ordained by our Moon Mother, you and I have walked difficult paths and endured trials meant to break us. Our love was tested, and so was our faith but neither ever withered. They remained strong.”
Tears burned behind my eyes as he continued.
“You saved me, time and time again. Because of you, my strength grew. Because of you, hope never died in me. And now here we stand face to face, hand in hand, before everyone who matters making vows we are blessed enough to keep.”
He took a breath, his grip tightening around my hands.
“These are my promises to you, my love. I will love and cherish you until my final breath. My world will revolve around you, and my eyes and heart will never wander. My love will remain pure, and I will always be loyal and faithful to you. I will never break your heart, and I will do everything in my power not to disappoint you. I will walk beside you always and place you above all others. My heart, my body, and my soul belong to you and I give them freely, knowing you will care for them. I love you, Venessa. Now and always.”
Tears streamed down my face because I understood every word not just what he said, but where it came from. I knew the depth of his love. I knew his loyalty was unwavering.
Then it was my turn.
I lifted my gaze to him, and his eyes met mine soft, devoted, and filled with a love that wrapped around my heart and refused to let go.
