Chapter 57 I saved Zara

Chapter 57 I saved Zara
Elara

“There is no surprise Zara is like this.” A whisper filled my ear as I walked down the hallway.

“Drugs” another whisper filled my ears

I watched as Zara was escorted out with the principal, her eyes were on mine the whole time, I saw something I have never seen, it was threat, she can’t prove I did this.

Nathan, Paul and Clara pulled it off without me, after the meeting with principal Heather, I met up with some teachers and they let me take the make up tests I missed. They all bought the story of I have been sick, and I came to school despite.

I felt bad for lying, they treated me so much, they didn’t  need a note from a doctor or even my parents, if it was someone like Clara. They won’t  have believed her.

By the time I was done with  for everything I did, I came out to find Zara’s locker getting searched.

“Did you-“

“I didn’t have to, they found drugs in her locker, all I did was point them to it and make the call.” Nathan said.

Zara always had drugs, did I cross a line  by doing this, in a fucked up way, I am helping her, her mother needs to know one way or the other and her being on drugs, it’s bad for her

Zara is smart. She is intelligent but drugs will ruin her.

“We did the right thing, we got her off your back and Landon and she is going to get the help she needs, if she didn’t step up, she would ruin her life, she will turn out to be junky.”

“The world does not need a doctor that is always on weed.” I breathe out, I whispered so low against my breath, if we did the right thing, why didn’t it feel good, why I can’t forget the way she stared at me.

“What do you think is going to happen to her?” I asked my friends, I didn’t think of that, the plan sounded so right, so perfect, I didn’t think how it will be.

“Rehab, she will be home schooled and I am guessing there is a way for her to write all of her exams, I am sure school will help her with that, hey you need to relax Elara we did the right thing, do you know she sold drugs to middle school kids.”

“What.” I asked.

That didn’t sound like her, can she do that to kids. She is horrible but this is a new low.

“They are leaving for middle school right now to check the locker of students, imagine if she was, it’s better if she is in rehab and accepts the help that she needs and I heard she wants to me a doctor, doctors like her get drugged up and forget something in the patient body and end up blaming innocent interns and nurses. Now that I know about that, I am certain-we did the right things.” Nathan said and I nodded

We did the right thing, she will get help, she will become a doctor, and a good one after she gets help. Deep down I have a feeling she knows it’s me.

“The police.” Someone yelled. I looked out, and Nathan and the rest of us headed toward the other side of the house and we glanced out the door, there were police here.

Fuck.

“Hey Elara”

“I’m fine Clara, I need some time alone”

I made my way out of the place and I headed back to my studio. I felt a wave of shiver run down my spine..

“Landon.” I breathed out, I made my way further into the room, he was settled on my chair and he had my brushes on his hand.

“Hey stranger.” He smiled. I made my way toward him, wrapped my hand around him instantly and I placed my lips on his cheek. “Are you okay? He asked.

“You are sweaty.”

“We just came back from practice, what’s wrong.” He asked

I can’t tell  him what I did

Fuck that’s another secret, what type of person am I?

The worst.

A person that lies to their boyfriend over and over again

“Zara is gone, uhm. They found drugs in her locker and I heard she may be selling drugs to middle schoolers, we are not sure, the police are here, it’s all messy, I could not stay there so.”

He didn’t look fazed, instead he had a frown on his face.

“You knew.”

“Yes I knew she was on drugs, one of the reasons  we broke up, she was never going to change and I could not take her and she thought it was funny when she slipped a drug into my sprite one time, if I had gotten tested I would have been kicked off the  team and now fucking middle schoolers.” He said and I didn’t speak.

I had hoped for her sake she didn’t do it, she didn’t sell, she would be ruining her life.

“Who snitched on her.” He asked and a bitter chuckle falls out of my lips. “It doesn’t matter. She needs all the help she can get, I should have reported her to her mom a long time ago. But she begged and swear she will change.”

“She didn’t.” I breathed out. “It’s bad Landon. She is so smart and yet.”

“We can’t beat ourselves off because of what she has done? It doesn’t matter, she picked this, this is the life she wanted, now enough about her and give me a kiss, o spent all day thinking  about it.” He said and I smirked

I brushed his lips against mine, I felt a wave of shiver run down my spine, the conversation with Principal Heather came back to me and I knew Landon and I have to take care of it, especially after what I have done, the police will want to speak to all of us.
