Chapter 501 Satisfied?
"Was it you? Did you orchestrate all of this?"
The moment Steven closed the door and walked in, Eileen's eyes locked into Bella, glaring at her viciously as if she wanted to tear her apart.
"Grandma, what do you mean by that?"
"I've been by your side this whole time. I never had a chance to do anything. Or are you saying you think I'm so powerful that I could manipulate Mr. Brown?"
"Oh, right, Sean is your precious grandson. No matter what shameful things he does, you still think he's the best person in the world. But have you ever really thought about it—from when Sean did those things to me, to now when he's doing the same with another woman, the common factor is him, not anyone else."
"Deep down, he's just that despicable."
Enraged by Bella's words, Eileen slapped her across the face. "Shut up! No matter what, he's your husband. You have no right to talk about him like that. If this happened to him today, it's your fault for not keeping an eye on him."
Hearing this, Bella laughed. She covered her face, looked at Eileen with bloodshot eyes, and her whole body was trembling uncontrollably. "I didn't keep an eye on him?"
"What about when he raped me?"
"You knew about what happened back then, didn't you? You knew Sean drugged me, that's how it happened. But you took his side, helped everyone condemn me, and made my life impossible. With just a few words, you turned the blame on me, made me everyone's target. You knew fully well that he orchestrated everything, but you did things against your conscience."
"What else could I do?" Eileen shot back. "What makes you think I should abandon my own grandson to protect you?"
"Is the truth more important than my family? Or do you think I should give you justice? Don't forget—giving you justice is the police's job. As his family, what I need to do is stand by him, protect him, not hurt my own family for an outsider like you."
"Bella, are you out of your mind?"
"Having Sean marry you was already the greatest mercy I could show you."
Bella laughed bitterly. After all these years, she had long known what Eileen was like, but hearing these words still made her want to laugh. "Fine! Then go ahead and have Sean marry this woman now."
"I'd love to see how you handle this mess." With that, Bella pulled open the door to leave.
Seeing this, Eileen rushed over in a few quick steps to stop her. In this situation, the best solution was to handle it behind closed doors, not make it public. Even though they were on a cruise ship, even though there were no media present, the internet was so widespread nowadays—if someone captured all this and posted it online, it would be nothing but harmful to them.
"Don't you dare leave."
Bella swung her hand, pushing Eileen away.
Being elderly and caught off guard, the old woman fell to the ground.
Bella opened the door and walked straight out, the handprint still visible on her face.
The crowd that had been about to disperse saw the door open and stopped to continue watching the show. Seeing the slap mark on Bella's face, they could pretty much guess what had happened.
Within ten minutes, everyone on the entire cruise ship knew what had occurred.
As Bella passed through the crowd and walked by Thalia, Thalia asked, "Satisfied?"
"Thank you, Ms. Smith."
"Don't mention it. I've delivered my gift. Now I'm just waiting for your sincerity."
.........
While Eileen was dealing with Sean's situation, Steven came looking for someone.
"William,"
William had just sat down in the coffee shop.
He'd just picked up his coffee cup but hadn't had a chance to drink yet.
Nicholashad justreturned from abroad at the end of the year, hoping to rest for a few days, but unexpectedly came back to this drama. Seeing Steven approach, clearly coming to ask for help, wouldn't it be a shame not to make things difficult for him?
"Is Mr. Jimenez here to beg? Mr. Brown, impressive—the elite of Regal City coming to beg at your doorstep. Your status has risen again, hasn't it?"
"Mr. Jimenez, you haven't forgotten, have you? Mr. Brown here was the child your family didn't want. And now you're coming to beg him? Have you no shame?"
Nicholas mocked sarcastically while pulling out his phone to fiddle with it. Seeing something, he made a puzzled sound. "What's wrong with people these days? They care so much about gossip. I just posted a video online, and it's already been shared tens of thousands of times."
Hearing this, Steven's heart sank.
