Chapter 480 Fainted
Amara was hiding by the doorway, watching the show. When she saw Harper coming up with a bowl, she got so scared her legs went weak.
Inside the room, Thalia heard the call and instantly yanked the blanket off William's face.
The sound of coughs suddenly filled the air. William lay on the bed, coughing on his side.
Thalia watched without moving a muscle.
"What's wrong? He was fine just now. Why is he coughing like this?"
Before Harper could answer Amara, she heard William's coughing and rushed through the door.
The moment she entered, she saw Thalia pull open the nightstand drawer and toss something inside.
"Yeah, he was fine just now. I don't know what happened. We should go to the hospital!"
As Thalia spoke, she reached for her phone to make a call. But the moment she picked it up, William grabbed her arm. His voice was hoarse. "Not going to the hospital."
"You're this sick, you'll die if you don't go to the hospital." Thalia looked at him with concern on her face.
In reality, she was thinking that only away from the Brown Mansion could she finish him off.
Otherwise, with Harper around or Vaughn around, she couldn't make her move.
Clearly, William knew what Thalia was thinking. Otherwise, he wouldn't have used Vaughn's name last night to get Thalia to come back to the Brown Mansion for dinner, and wouldn't have gotten Thalia drunk to make her stay overnight at the Brown Mansion.
He did all this to save his own life, didn't he?
If he left the Brown Mansion now, Thalia wouldn't let him live one second longer.
"If the media finds out, it'll cause panic. Bad news getting out will affect the company's stock price."
William's eyes were blurry with fever.
He could barely catch his breath while speaking.
Harper watched anxiously and called out to the stunned Amara. "Why are you just standing there? Come take a look!"
"If medicine doesn't work, give him a shot."
"Amara isn't that kind of doctor after all. Better go to the hospital! It's safer. How can stock prices be more important than life? My dad thought too much back then, so he missed the best treatment time and died young. William can't do this again." Thalia insisted on sending him to the hospital.
Looking at Harper's worried face, her clear eyes blinked, and tears welled up, about to cry from worry.
Harper saw Thalia's tearful appearance and looked at William. "Thalia's right, better go to the hospital. Stock prices aren't as important as life."
Amara watched the two of them go back and forth, thinking that with Thalia's acting skills, she'd be the Best Actress sooner or later.
William could be driven to death when he was healthy, and now that he's sick, probably...
He was coughing his lungs out, looking at Thalia's tearful appearance without any sympathy.
Instead, while coughing, he shakily pointed at Thalia. "She's... faking it."
After saying that, he passed out.
Amara was stunned!
Watching the show was one thing, but someone dying was another. She pushed Harper aside and laid him flat on the bed.
...........
"I have something I want to ask you about."
"What is it?"
Early in the morning, Daniel wasn't up yet, but his mind was awake. He was looking at William's gossip on his phone.
The first thing he did when he woke up was check gossip in the WhatsApp group.
These rich kids in Emerald City had way more information than the outside media, and the gossip was always new.
Someone actually brought up William taking Thalia to business dinners. If this wasn't deep love, would William pave the way for someone?
A guy like him would be good enough not to sabotage Thalia, let alone pave the way for her.
"Thalia's holding a knife to Mr. Brown's neck, telling me to pull the news."
"Should I pull it or not?" Angelina couldn't make up her mind. Sitting in her car in the basement, she was about to go bald from stress.
Pull it? William would kill her.
Don't pull it? Thalia would kill William.
Neither option was good for her.
"Damn! That explosive?" Daniel got interested.
Angelina asked again, "So? Pull it or not?"
"Do you think when Mr. Brown was setting up Thalia, did he think about whether Thalia would kill him?"
Angelina rolled her eyes. "Need to think about it? With Thalia's temper, is that even a question? Killing him is inevitable."
"So you see, he knew exposing this would get him killed by Thalia, but he still chose to do it. If you pull the news now, believe it or not, if Thalia can't kill him, he'll come kill you."
"He's been carefully planning all this just to get recognition, and in the end, you ruined it. You think he'll let you off?"
Angelina thought that made sense. "What if Thalia does kill him..."
"If he dies, he dies. If William's dead, with the shares you hold, you might even compete for the chairman position of the Celestia Group. Win-win."
Angelina added, "Why do I feel like you can't wait for Thalia to kill William?"
"You figured that out?"
Daniel turned over with his phone. "I just want to see if Thalia is William's karma."
.........
"Dad, what do you think about this news?"
At Peterson Villa, Selene handed her iPad to Zephyr. Zephyr glanced at it.
"News is always half true, half false. Unless Mr. Brown admits it himself, just treat it as entertainment."
"But what if it's true? I've seen many people say they've seen Thalia and William being close."
"So what? If you want to be Mrs. Brown, you should block out outside noise. People break up when dating, people divorce when married. Bottom line, you need to know what you want."
Zephyr advised Selene, his words teaching her how to be and act.
Selene looked at the news on her iPad, still finding it hard to accept.
If this was true, and she liked William, wouldn't that mean she liked a married man?
Zephyr seemed to see right through her thoughts. "There are many excellent men, but there's only one richest man in Emerald City."
"If William really is Dione's son, then he'll definitely be more than just Emerald City's richest man in the future. Someone like Thalia, even if she's from a wealthy family, is just an actress. She won't get the family's approval and will divorce sooner or later."
"Has Dione contacted you?"
"Yes, she asked me to coffee this afternoon."
"Did you pick out a gift?"
"Yes!"
