Chapter 472 Youthful Marriage

Chapter 472 Youthful Marriage

"Who's that guy?"

"His wife."

"Wife?" Thalia was surprised. "He's married?"

Someone like Sean didn't seem like the type to get married young. The fact that he was married did surprise Thalia a bit, and from a distance, he seemed to be very protective of this girl.

"Yeah, for a few years now."

"A few years? Wow, married young!"

"Is there a story?" Thalia was eager for some gossip.

William had never been that person for gossip. He led Thalia into another private room and handed her the menu. "There is, but you'll have to dig into it yourself."

The story was too long - the feuds and entanglements between wealthy families couldn't be explained in just a few words.

Thalia knew his non-gossipy nature, so she pouted and said "Oh."

Things were pretty peaceful on William's side - the man poured water while Thalia looked at the menu.

Just as she'd decided what to eat, the sound of breaking glass came from the private room behind them.

In an instant, Thalia put down the menu, turned around, and pressed against the wall, trying to listen. William watched her and shook his head helplessly.

"I told you, I didn't want to come out to eat."

"If you don't want to come out, you want to stay home? Stay home and do what? Watch your old flame to help your appetite?"

"Sean, you're disgusting."

"Don't push me!"

Thalia vaguely heard these few sentences and wanted to hear more when she heard someone pushing open a door outside.

The arguing stopped abruptly.

"Done listening? Come order your food."

"They didn't marry for love? Was it an arranged marriage?" Thalia blinked curiously at William, waiting for him to fill her in. She knew he must know something.

Given his personality, he'd probably already investigated everything thoroughly.

"Eat!" William's tone was unfriendly as he coldly cut off Thalia's wild imagination.

Just as the meal was about to end, the private room door was pushed open. Steven appeared at the door with a cane, looking somewhat startled when he saw Thalia.

"Mr. Jimenez, Mr. Brown is mine today. No outside guests." Thalia rested her chin on her hands, looking at the person standing in the doorway, her words carrying a strong sense of unwelcome.

"Then please ask Mr. Brown to step out. We need to talk." Steven stood in the doorway with no intention of moving aside.

The private room was spacious - never mind two people, even ten could fit. William naturally wouldn't give him face by going out. His questioning gaze fell on Thalia.

Her heart warmed. He could have decided directly, but he was asking for her opinion.

This man really could pin her down in any detail.

"Since Mr. Brown asked, I'll wait outside." After speaking, Thalia grabbed her bag and left the room. As she passed Stefan, she vaguely felt some scent flash past her nose.

Strangely familiar, as if she'd just smelled it somewhere.

The restaurant was on the sixth floor of the mall, surrounded by other dining establishments. Thalia came out with her bag but didn't go far. Instead, she leaned against the railing, scrolling through her phone, searching for something.

As she looked down, she vaguely felt someone looking at her.

Looking up, she saw Sean coming out with someone. Face to face, Thalia finally got a clear look at the girl - delicate features, beautiful eyes. Even just looking at someone without saying anything, there was a sense of affection in her gaze.

No wonder someone like Sean got married young.

What man wouldn't be moved by this kind of gentle, tender-eyed girl?

Even William would probably melt under her soft words.

Thalia was sizing her up, and she was doing the same to Thalia.

"What a coincidence, Mr. Sean Jimenez, you're here too?" Thalia leaned against the railing in a casual posture, holding a limited edition bag.

"Ms. Smith, you're still in Regal City?"

"Yeah! It's rare to come to the big city and see the world." People in Regal City had always looked down on Emerald City. In their eyes, the wealthy families of Emerald City were always inferior.

Thalia's words carried mockery and sarcasm.

"Ms. Smith, you're joking. Someone who hasn't seen the world can't afford a bag that costs two million dollars each."

Thalia looked down at the bag in her hand and smiled slightly. "Didn't know you were so knowledgeable about bags!"

"Done eating and ready to leave? Not waiting for your grandfather?"

Sean's brow furrowed when he heard Thalia's words.

"From your expression, you didn't know your grandfather was in there."

"Oh! Mr. Brown is here too."

Steven coming to find William must be about Dione. At a time like this, whether he should stay or go in to find someone, he knew perfectly well.

Sean glanced at the person beside him. "Wait for me here?"

"You go in."

Sean wanted to leave but seemed worried. He called the driver downstairs, and only after the driver came up did he feel comfortable turning to go in.

Thalia rubbed the hand holding her bag.

If she didn't stick to the principle of women not making things difficult for other women, she'd probably already gone up to confront her.

"Ms. Smith."

Thalia was about to turn and leave when the woman behind her called out urgently.

Thalia paused and turned to look at her. "You know me?"

"I don't, but I've heard friends mention you."

The woman's voice was sweet and melodious, pleasant to the ear. No wonder even her arguing sounded good.

Thalia straightened up and looked at her, waiting for the rest.

But the other woman hesitated for a long time without saying a word.

"You..."

"Mrs. Jimenez, Mr. Jimenez is coming out."

The girl seemed to have mustered up the courage to say something, but her companion's timely reminder stopped her.

Thalia's gaze fell on the restaurant entrance.

William strode over, his demeanor cold.

Steven, Sean, and others followed behind. Clearly, Steven hadn't gained any advantage in their conversation.

………………

"Mr. Brown, someone's looking for you at the entrance."

At Westbridge University's office building, someone knocked on Vaughn's office door.

"Who?"

"She says her name is Dione."

The pen in Vaughn's hand dropped onto the desk.

After a moment of silence, he stood up and went to the door. Opening it, he indeed saw someone he hadn't seen in thirty years standing before him. In a trance, he thought he'd returned to thirty years ago, when that stunningly beautiful girl appeared before him, tearfully complaining about all the injustices she'd suffered.

After all these years, they met again, beginning with silence.

"Not going to invite me in?" Listening carefully, Dione's voice trembled slightly.

Hearing the sound, Vaughn closed the door behind him. "Let's talk outside."

There was no shortage of coffee shops near the university. Dione's impression of this place was still the old, run-down campus. She hadn't expected that in the blink of an eye, thirty years had passed, and everything had changed.

"I thought this place would still look the same."

Vaughn took the coffee from the server and handed it to her. "After so many years, nothing can stay the same."

"Does that include you too?"
