Chapter 355 William, Save Me
In an instant, everyone in the crew panicked. Those who weren't part of the crew didn't dare rashly go downstairs either. Someone who had been walking down with them just fine had suddenly disappeared.
Who knows if they'd be next? At a time like this, sticking with the group was the safest bet.
"Thalia?"
"Thalia?" The crew members called out her name.
The director's heart raced. If something happened to someone in his crew, and word got to Thalia's fans, those fans would come after him for sure.
"Groups of three to five, split up and search. Hurry up and call the company's support team, get them to send people over."
"Okay."
Thalia was being dragged toward a corner; someone's hand clamped over her nose and mouth. She struggled to dig her fingers into the back of the hand covering her mouth, her slender fingertips practically trying to pierce into his flesh.
She used every ounce of strength trying to gouge out his skin.
Finally, just as Thalia was about to pass out, the man couldn't stand the pain and suddenly let her go.
Thalia could breathe again, clutching her chest and gasping for air.
She opened her eyes wide, trying to see clearly which gutsy bastard dared to kidnap her.
But when she turned around, all she saw was a black mask and a black hat.
"You bitch, pretty tough, aren't you?" The man looked down at his bloody hand, then walked toward Thalia, ready to grab her again. But he didn't expect that the half-conscious woman, still leaning against the wall, would suddenly lift her foot and kick him right in the cock.
A scream echoed through the hallway.
The man realized there might still be people outside looking for Thalia and immediately cut off his cry.
Thalia had inhaled quite a bit of the drug. She barely managed to steady herself against the wall, and seeing the man on the ground, she tried to make her way toward the emergency exit.
The crew had noticed she was missing—they'd definitely come looking.
No director wants a somewhat famous actress to get hurt on their set, unless they want to never work in the industry again.
Just as Thalia's hand was about to touch the heavy handle of the fire exit, someone grabbed her hair and dragged her backward, hand over her mouth.
She struggled, kicking at the door with her feet.
The moment her toes touched the door, the man seemed to catch on to what she was doing and yanked her away.
"What was that sound?"
"Is someone there?"
Women's voices came from the fire exit. Thalia recognized them—the two newcomers from today.
She tried to call out, but was pulled into an office.
When the fire exit door opened, the hallway was empty.
"Did we hear wrong?"
"Don't scare me, I really did hear something."
"Go get people."
In the office, the man dragged Thalia across the floor, hand still over her mouth. As her body scraped past a desk, she grabbed a pen from the desktop, removed the cap, and stabbed it hard into the man's thigh.
As the smell of blood filled the air, she became much more alert.
She shook her head and saw a fruit knife stuck in the pen holder on the desk. She grabbed it and made a cut across her palm. The pain cut through the drug's effects.
It cleared her head.
"Who sent you?"
"What's the point of kidnapping me?"
The man clutched his leg, gritted his teeth, and yanked out the pen, hissing with pain. He glared at Thalia and lunged at her face with the pen...
Thalia dodged, and the fruit knife in her hand plunged into the man's back.
"I'm asking you—who sent you?"
Another scream rang out.
Thalia grabbed the man's hair and slammed his head against the corner of the desk. "You grabbed my hair? Do you know each strand of my hair is worth tens of thousands of dollars? Can you even afford to pay for it?"
Thalia grabbed the man by his collar and dragged him toward the emergency exit, planning to dump him in front of the crew. But just as she left the office, she saw a figure standing in the hallway.
Thalia scoffed. "Got a partner?"
"Is it really worth all this trouble?"
"Just tell me! How much did they pay you? I'll match it."
"They want your life. Would you give that too?" The man's voice was low and steady.
"Plenty of people want me dead. Let's see if you've got what it takes."
The man laughed coldly and slowly raised his hand. When Thalia saw the gun in his hand, her whole body trembled. This was definitely someone William had crossed.
As the man fired, Thalia grabbed the man beside her and used him as a shield.
Watching the man approach with steady steps, she grew more and more panicked.
Suddenly, she had an idea and shouted toward the man's back. "William, save me!"
The man was thrown off. As he turned to look, Thalia rushed forward and stabbed the knife into his right shoulder, forcing him to drop the gun. Just as she was about to pick it up—
The man fought back, and the two of them wrestled in the long hallway.
"Didn't expect his woman to have some skills."
"There's a lot you didn't expect."
Well then, he wouldn't hold back.
...........
The assistant searched everywhere without finding her. His panicked heart finally had a clue, and he quickly called Layla.
"When did this happen?"
"Half an hour ago."
"Half an hour ago, and you're only telling me now? Do you have a death wish?" After chewing him out, Layla grabbed her phone and called John. The moment John got the call, he immediately contacted William's people stationed in the shadows. Instantly, seven or eight men in black rushed upstairs.
"Mr. Brown, John called to say Mrs. Brown has been taken."
That day, William had just left a business dinner. Drink after drink at the table, all mixed together—by the time he got in the car, he was already half drunk.
Finn had just helped him into the car and hadn't even made it to the driver's seat when he got the call.
Instantly, the man resting with his eyes closed in the back seat became fully alert. The pressure inside the car dropped sharply.
"Where was she taken?"
"The Mitchell Group."
William pulled out his phone and called Eleanor.
On the other end, Eleanor had just finished arguing with Elowen and was standing under the eaves smoking to calm her nerves. She was a bit surprised to get William's call. "Mr. Brown, calling me in the middle of the night—what's going on?"
"Thalia was taken at your company. Eleanor, if anything happens to her, do you think The Mitchell Group can stay in business?"
Eleanor's heart jumped.
She'd seen her this afternoon, perfectly fine, and now she'd been taken?
Eleanor grabbed the car keys from the entryway and sped off, calling the company's security department while driving.
But no one answered, no matter how long it rang.
"Have your people check the security office on the second floor. They've probably been taken out. I'm on my way now."
Eleanor didn't dare waste a second. If something happened to Thalia on her turf, William would make the entire Mitchell family pay.
