Chapter 301 Did Mr. Brown Insult Someone?

Chapter 302 Mr. Brown Saw It

"Thalia, you're amazing! Winning with brains? Is the research institute going to snatch you up for study?" Evelyn screamed excitedly, looking at Thalia with complete admiration. They'd made a killing. "We should take more gigs like this. Why even bother acting? Isn't this way faster money than filming?"

Thalia flicked her forehead, signaling her to shut up, and handed her the cue stick. "Hold this. I'm going to the restroom."

The moment Thalia left, the place erupted.

"Jack, if you'd taken that shot, could you have made it?"

"No way," Jack shook his head. From such a tricky position, it would take at least two shots to guarantee it.

"If even you couldn't make that shot, how could Thalia?"

Hearing this, Evelyn shot back. "What are you trying to say? By your logic, just because you didn't become the richest person, Thalia can't either?"

"People from the same circle, and you've got such a nasty mind?"

"Stop talking nonsense. Everyone's just questioning it normally. Who doesn't know Thalia's dad bought her way into college?"

"Oh, so you're saying you got into your college on your own merit? Then can you understand the formulas up there? Why don't you explain to us what formulas were used? If you can't, don't blame me for looking down on you."

"You..."

While Evelyn was arguing with people here, over there, the business tycoons were marveling at Thalia's performance.

"Hayden really knows how to raise a daughter. Those formulas Thalia just used are graduate-level physics, right?"

"Indeed. You can tell she's an expert."

"Ms. Smith really keeps a low profile. What a waste for her to be in entertainment."

Scarlett had been entertaining guests earlier and hadn't witnessed the show, but hearing everyone talking, she pieced together what happened.

So Thalia was stealing the spotlight at her birthday party?

That's just like Thalia, isn't it?

How can she be so shameless?

She lifted her dress and turned to look for Thalia.

In the restroom, Thalia had just pumped out some hand soap when someone pressed down the faucet she'd just turned on.

She looked up to see Scarlett standing in front of her in a haute couture dress, looking as showy as a peacock spreading its feathers compared to her own black dress.

"What's the meaning of this? Ms. Lewis, you won't even let people wash their hands?"

"What did you do at my party?"

"What?" Thalia raised an eyebrow. "You found out I slept with your dad?"

"Bullshit," Scarlett reached out to close the restroom door, leaning against it and staring at Thalia, as if afraid she'd run away.

"Thalia, have you no shame? Stealing all the attention at my birthday party? Like a peacock showing off and begging for attention. Have you no shame? Now that your dad's dead, you don't have a chance to show off, is that it? Want me to introduce you to a few people?"

Thalia's hand paused as she was pulling out paper towels. She'd been about to wipe the hand soap off her palms, but hearing Scarlett's words, she lost interest in wiping her hands. She crumpled the paper towel and tossed it in the trash.

"You're such a..."

Thalia reached out and shoved her hand directly into Scarlett's mouth, pressing her against the door, her voice still calm. "Come on, tell me, what does hand soap taste like? Is it good?"

Scarlett struggled frantically.

Thalia continued. "You can't beat me at anything, yet you keep yelling about competing with me. What's the point? I was born better than you. Don't you see what you look like? That nose was modeled after mine, wasn't it? How much did it cost? Why didn't you get double eyelid surgery too, so you could open your eyes wide and see clearly."

Thalia let go of Scarlett, who gasped for air, gagging from the taste of hand soap in her mouth. "You bitch, do you know what day this is? How dare you treat me like this."

Scarlett grabbed a stick by the door and swung it at Thalia.

Thalia snatched the stick away. "Don't push it."

"By what you're saying, nobody can be better than you? Everyone should be beneath you? Who do you think you are?"

"If your brain's broken, go get it fixed!"

"Thalia, you bitch," Scarlett raised her hand to hit her, but Thalia caught it and slammed her against the door with a bang.

Then she twisted Scarlett's arm behind her back, pinned her against the door, gripped her shoulder, and slammed her hard against it, showing no mercy.

"It's your birthday today, so I won't hit your face, don't worry. But there are way too many ways to make you hurt without touching your face."

"Thalia, watch out, or I'll call the cops. This is illegal."

"Thalia..."

"Thalia..."

When Thalia figured she'd taught her enough of a lesson, she stopped and turned on the faucet to wash her hands. Scarlett came to her senses and yanked open the door to run out.

The moment the door opened, she saw William casually leaning against the wall smoking, his long fingers tapping ash into a trash can.

Seeing William, she looked at him like a savior, her mind already racing with a thousand ways to deal with Thalia.

"Mr. Brown..."

Before Scarlett could finish her sentence, Thalia grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back inside.

...

"Where'd you go? You were in the restroom forever," Evelyn asked.

Thalia smiled. "Ran into some trash!"

Evelyn said nothing.

"Thalia, Scarlett says you hit her. Don't you owe me an explanation?" From the crowd, Jasper emerged from behind with Scarlett, walking up to Thalia with an ugly expression, his presence oppressive.

Seeing him like this, Thalia raised an eyebrow. "You say I hit Ms. Lewis? That requires evidence. Do you have any?"

Jasper glanced at Scarlett. With someone backing her up now, Scarlett was full of confidence. "Mr. Brown saw it."

William was a well-known big shot at this event. If he came forward as a witness, Thalia couldn't escape today. At best, she'd have to apologize; at worst, she'd go to jail.
