Chapter 102 Hanging Me to Hook Up with Chase
Thalia glared at the bodyguard in front of her, almost laughing in anger. "First come, first served? You gotta be kidding me."
The bodyguard's confidence wavered as he spoke again. Everyone knew Thalia was the Smith family's favorite, while Chase was just an afterthought.
If things went south, Chase might not even get the scraps. Thalia was not someone to mess with.
Thalia sneered at the bodyguard's diminishing voice. "Speak up. You seemed pretty confident when you stopped me earlier."
"Ms. Smith, we're just following orders."
"Following orders? Do you really think I won't end you right now?" Thalia pushed past him, ready to enter the house.
Chase's bodyguard tried to stop her, but Thalia's own bodyguard intervened.
"John, we're all trained by Hayden. This puts me in a tough spot."
John smirked, raised his hand, and knocked the man out cold with a single strike. "Now it's not tough anymore."
Thalia walked into the living room, her expression darkening at the sight of William and Chase chatting happily together.
But in a moment, she transformed back into the bright and charming Thalia.
Dressed in a flowing white chiffon silk gown, she moved gracefully, her dress fluttering like a fairy among flowers.
"Chase, what are you discussing with Mr. Brown?"
William's brows furrowed slightly as he saw Thalia approaching barefoot, having removed her high heels.
Amara, noticing his subtle reaction, fetched a pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet and handed them to Thalia.
Thalia was momentarily surprised. She had heard William was very attentive to his parents, but seeing this well-kept villa, she assumed these small tasks were done by servants. She didn't expect...
"Thanks, Amara," Thalia said sweetly, sitting next to William but not putting on the slippers herself. Instead, she nudged William to help her.
William glanced at Thalia, knowing she was up to something again. Holding a cup in one hand, he lifted her trailing dress with the other and watched as she slipped her feet into the slippers.
Chase's hand tightened at his side, watching their interaction.
"Thalia, what brings you here?"
"I heard you were trying to poach my lawyer, so I rushed over."
Thalia leaned back on the sofa. "I'm so unlucky. Betrayed by my ex-boyfriend, finally got a new one, and now I have to guard against men instead of women."
"Chase, do you have a problem with your orientation? Why are you always following Mr. Brown?"
Amara lowered her head, hiding her smile with her hand.
"Thalia, where do you get your knack for making up stories? Who were you with yesterday? And now Mr. Brown is your man?"
Thalia and Chase started arguing, neither willing to back down.
Hearing Elon's name, William's coffee cup wavered slightly.
"Elon and I were just together, that's all. And we were together in many places, like... in public, or... in bed. Did you come alone today? Where's Elizabeth? Not with you? I haven't kept up with your love life. Did you change wives?"
Thalia didn't give Chase a chance to retort. She lifted her dress and walked over to the pile of gifts in the center of the room. "Let's see what goodies you brought us."
She picked up an orange gift box from the middle. "A scarf?"
"Price tag says $5,800? How cheap."
She tossed the box aside and picked up another one containing bird's nest, shaking her head without a word.
After sifting through the gifts and finding nothing satisfactory, her eyes landed on another pile, with a box containing a bag on top. Thalia opened it with interest. "Luxury brand? Not even rare leather, and you think this is a good gift."
"This bag isn't fake, is it? I didn't expose you last time when you gave Elizabeth a fake one."
"Thalia..." Chase's face darkened as Thalia dismissed his gifts one by one.
"You came empty-handed? Does Mr. Brown look like one of those men you can take advantage of?"
Chase kept referring to "other men" to imply to William that Thalia was promiscuous.
Thalia didn't care, shaking her head. "Chase, you're being too formal. I'm already Mr. Brown's."
"Even gave him my first night..."
There was the sound of something breaking in the kitchen.
Amara choked on her drink.
William, holding his cup, was stunned. Thalia really had no filter.
"Who knows, Mr. Brown's son might already be in my belly."
Thalia sat back next to William, affectionately linking her arm with his. "Chase, maybe you should try someone else."
"Thalia, where's your shame? Scamming people like this, aren't you afraid your ancestors will crawl out of their graves to punish you?"
Thalia laughed. "Your ancestors didn't crawl out when you got other women pregnant. If they punish me for scamming, they'd have to punish you first."
"No one gets off easy."
Amara: ..........
Chase couldn't win against Thalia. His words weren't as sharp, and his mind not as quick, so he turned his focus to William. "Mr. Brown."
"Mr. Brown," Thalia echoed Chase mockingly.
William sat in the middle, holding his cup, watching them argue.
"Ms. Smith, isn't this too much?"
Thalia blinked, seemingly not understanding William's words. "Too much what?"
"You siblings are arguing, why drag me into it?"
Thalia cursed him in her mind. If you didn't want to be dragged into this, why get involved?
Jerk?
"Ask Mr. Brown. If he had agreed to my terms earlier, none of this would have happened today."
"I haven't even questioned Mr. Brown about stringing me along while flirting with Chase. Bisexual much? You wouldn't..."
William was shocked. On any other day, it wouldn't matter, but with Amara present, and possibly Vaughn and Harper watching, it was different.
Amara thought, impressive!
When it came to seducing men, Thalia was unmatched. No wonder people said Thalia always got the men she wanted.
"Mr. Brown just agreed to me," Chase quickly interjected, leaving Thalia momentarily stunned.
