Chapter 824 Eddy Has a Fever
Chapter 824 Eddy Has a Fever
"Baby, come here."
William walked in, took off his coat, washed his hands, and then squattedin front of Thalia to take the child from her. "I love you, don't listen to your mom's nonsense."
Thalia slumped onto the carpet against the sofa, grabbing the cat and squishing it in her hands.
Harper tossed her a cushion, teasing with a smile. "You! You only hold the baby when you have no other choice, but whenever Thalia comes back, you forget you're a mother."
Thalia laughed cheerfully. Before she could respond, William picked up where Harper left off. "That's fine. She can stay a kid as long as I'm capable enough to let her."
"Baby, we'll protect Mommy together from now on."
Thalia sat on the floor hugging the cat and beckoned William over with her finger.
William squatted holding the child. "What's up?"
"Give me a kiss."
The two fooled around until the baby got hungry and handed him over to the nanny.
Thalia got up from the carpet, but just as she was about to stand, her vision went dark and she nearly fell.
William quickly caught her and helped her to the sofa. "Dizzy again?"
Thalia shook her head and hummed in agreement.
"Lie down and rest. Did you take your medicine?"
"I did," Thalia replied lazily.Only after lying down did her head stop spinning.
"I asked Amara. She said the specialist is coming back to Emerald City next week. When the time comes, take some time off from the film set and we'll go see them together."
Since giving birth, Thalia's health had deteriorated even further. She was sensitive to cold, got dizzy, had poor blood circulation - all sorts of minor issues kept popping up. It was especially bad around her period - she could even faint in the shower just from standing.
"I don't want to drink medicine."
"Be good. Your health is the most important thing."
Thalia muttered, "I've already finished the most important thing."
"What do you mean finished?"
"Having a baby for you!"
William couldn't help but laugh.
"Evelyn is pregnant."
"Really?" The person lying on the sofa got excited and sat up so fast.
"Yeah, Elijah said they just found out last week."
William pulled a blanket over her legs. "Elijah said Evelyn's been in a bad mood lately. He wants you to spend more time with her when you can."
"I'll go tomorrow. Can I bring the baby?"
William looked at her and shook his head with a serious expression on his face.
"Evelyn just got pregnant and she's still in the risky period. She needs to rest. Besides, it's so cold out - if our son gets sick from the cold, you'll have hell to pay."
"True."
What William didn't expect was that the very next day after he told Thalia this, the little guy got sick. As for where the illness came from, it remained a mystery.
4 AM.
The nanny knocked nervously on the master bedroom door.
Thalia woke up, mumbling, still half asleep.
William comforted her, and once she was sleeping soundly again, he got up to open the door. "What's wrong?"
"Mr. Brown, Eddy has a fever."
The man's face darkened. "How did that happen?"
"He was fine at night, but when he woke up for milk around 3, he had a low fever. We don't know what went wrong."
William threw on a robe and went to the nursery. As soon as he entered, he heard the little guy crying. He took the child from the nanny and felt his forehead. "What's his temperature?"
"100.2 Fahrenheit."
Not too bad, not a high fever.
"Did you try to cool him down?"
"We already wiped him down once, but the more he cries, the higher his temperature goes. We really can't get him to calm down."
The nanny was terrified. Rich people's kids were really stubborn - when they threw a tantrum, there was no way to soothe them.
William sighed helplessly. This little guy was going to have a temper too, maybe even worse than Thalia's.
He'd see which of the two would win in the future.
"Okay, be good, stop crying."
6 AM. The winter mist was blown away by the morning breeze, tearing open the sky and revealing the dim early morning light.
William checked the time, thinking that Thalia usually got up around now to use the bathroom.
Just as he was about to put the little guy in the crib, Eddy woke up as soon as he set him down.
With no choice, he asked for a blanket, wrapped up the little one, and headed to the master bedroom.
As soon as he pushed open the door, the bed was empty.
He called out but got no response.
William pushed on the bathroom door and found it locked.
"Thalia."
"Honey."
"Thalia."
After four or five calls, still no response.
William handed the child back to the nanny.
Dawn was breaking. Fallon was arranging work when a shout from upstairs interrupted her.
"Go find the key to the master bathroom."
Fallon hurried to find the key and went upstairs. William grabbed the key and was about to open the door.
The bathroom door opened.
Thalia stood there in her pajamas, hair messy and hanging loose, arms at her sides, blood dripping from her fingertips onto the floor.
A morning shock.
When Amara was pulled out of bed, she didn't dare show any attitude.
The house was in chaos. Grace and Harper were taking turns trying to soothe the baby.
Thalia leaned against the sofa holding her injured hand, looking listless.
"It's a cut. If it were anywhere else, I'd suspect you were trying to hurt yourself."
"How did it happen?"
"Got dizzy standing up from the toilet and fell, cut it on the edge of the sink."
Harper glanced at William, seeing him heartbroken yet holding back his angry outburst.
"You really need to find a doctor to help with your health. This isn't something to joke about."
"Even a healthy man couldn't handle such major surgery."
Thalia covered her dizzy head and nodded.
William looked at her, his anger on the verge of exploding, and spoke coldly to Fallon. "Have someone bring tools up and remove the lock from the bathroom door."
Thalia lifted her eyelids to look at him. "If you're going to lose your temper, go do it somewhere else. Your yelling is giving me a headache."
Amara, seeing the tension between them, quickly packed up and got out of there.
She felt like she might catch the fallout.
Just as Amara left, someone grabbed her arm. Grace glanced at the bedroom situation. "Are they fighting?"
"Not exactly fighting..."
"Then what is it?"
Amara replied, "Thalia's health is bad, and William is worried"
