Chapter 77 William's Face Darkened: Where is the Person?
Evelyn reached under the bed and pulled something out, glancing at Jada.
Jada coughed awkwardly.
Evelyn got it right away. "William?"
Jada didn't say anything, but her shifty eyes gave her away.
Evelyn looked at the condom in her hand. Things must've gotten pretty wild.
Jada cleaned for her every day and somehow missed a condom under the bed...
"Pretty big size."
Evelyn headed to the bathroom to wash her hands.
She suddenly felt curious and decided to check if there were more condoms in the room.
Kneeling down to peek under the bed, she saw something flashing.
Evelyn's heart skipped a beat, thinking she might be seeing things. She knelt down again for a closer look.
She gasped.
Jada asked, "What's wrong?"
Evelyn put a finger to her lips, signaling Jada to be quiet.
"Where's Isla?"
"Haven't seen her for two days."
Evelyn glanced at the drunken Thalia, considering waking her up, but decided it was pointless.
She motioned for Jada to help move Thalia to the couch.
Then she signaled Jada to help lift the bed. When they flipped the heavy bed over, both were stunned.
Sunset Grove Villas had tight security, especially Thalia's villa, yet someone had managed to plant a listening device under her bed.
Evelyn's first thought was that it might be William, that creep, since they had sex on this bed.
"Don't say anything. I'm gonna make a call. Move Thalia to another room."
3:30 AM.
Ethan arrived at Thalia's villa, commenting as he walked in, "Going to a good college pays off. I can't afford a mansion, but I get to experience one through my friends."
"Is living in a mansion that great?" Evelyn gave him a look.
"Not really," he replied, thinking he wouldn't want Thalia's complicated life.
Evelyn led Ethan to Thalia's master bedroom. He barely had time to take in the enormous room before spotting the flashing listening device on the bed frame.
Indeed, being a princess isn't for everyone.
Ethan and Evelyn checked the rest of the house but found no other devices. They stepped outside and closed the door.
"Any suspects?" Ethan asked, sensing this was serious.
Given Thalia's status and her celebrity, her private life was always under scrutiny. If a hater had done this...
Thalia's career could be over.
Evelyn answered without hesitation, "William."
"No way. William isn't like that. Don't be biased."
Ethan trusted William's character. He might be shrewd in business, but he was loyal to his friends.
Evelyn scoffed, "Who's really being biased here?"
She grabbed a trash can. "Why don't you ask William if he stayed here a few days ago?"
Ethan noticed the condoms in the trash can.
"..."
Even William slips up sometimes?
"I'll call him," Ethan said.
Evelyn grabbed his arm. "Ask, don't tip him off. Got it?"
"Alright, I'll get the tech team to verify the IP address first. If it's not linked to William, then I'll tell him. Okay?"
"Keep it quiet. Thalia's a celebrity."
Ethan rolled his eyes. "I'm not that dumb."
Ethan spent his shift at Thalia's villa. The tech team traced the IP address and caught the culprit that night.
Thalia found out the next morning when she sobered up.
Evelyn was barely awake when Ethan called.
"Ethan says they caught the guy. It was a furniture store worker who installed the bed. One of your fans."
Evelyn grabbed clothes for Thalia. "Exciting, huh? Think he heard you and William going at it?"
Thalia, still groggy, would usually snap back, but not this time.
...
At the police station.
Ethan knew William had feelings for Thalia. As soon as they caught the guy, he called William.
William arrived at the station and tossed breakfast to Ethan.
"Mr. Brown always comes through."
"I love the sandwiches near your place."
Ethan ate as he gestured for William to sit, explaining what happened. "Exciting, right? You finally got with Thalia, and some creep heard it all. We caught him planning to blackmail Thalia with the recordings."
"Where is he?" William's face darkened, his presence chilling the room.
"He's locked up. Don't think about it. If you beat him to death, it's my fault."
Ethan knew William's temper.
William seemed the perfect gentleman, but inside, he was a wolf ready to tear someone apart.
"Last night, Evelyn was sure you planted the device."
"Thalia was too drunk to know, but if she did, she'd probably think the same. You were the last 'outsider' in her room."
Ethan emphasized "outsider," watching William's brows knit.
Ethan quickly added, half-warning, "I hear Elon from the Wilson family is getting close to Thalia. If you don't act fast..."
"Someone else might get the chance. Everyone thinks Thalia would choose Elon over you. The Wilson family has a strong background, and Thalia, with her free-spirited nature, could do whatever she wants while Elon is away with the military. You don't stand a chance."
"If you don't make a move now, you'll lose her for good."
