Chapter 59 Who is More Touchable, Elon or William?
"What are you staring at?"
"Do you know Thalia?"
Marie walked in to talk to him. She knocked on the door but got no answer, so she pushed it open and saw a shadow moving in the bathroom. She stepped inside and glanced at his phone screen, noticing his finger hovering over Thalia's name.
He seemed lost in thought, maybe figuring out how to bring her back home.
"I've met her once."
Marie pondered for a moment. "Thalia doesn't have the best rep in Emerald City, but she's smart. Her actions and methods are different from the typical rich kids. If you ask me what's special about her, I can't really pinpoint it, but she definitely stands out from those who just know how to party."
"She's got strategy..."
Elon smirked, following Marie's lead in evaluating Thalia. "Looks innocent but is actually very cunning."
"Exactly."
"Using her temper to hide her true intentions, that's pretty clever."
Marie rarely heard Elon mention any woman. After just one tennis game, he seemed interested in Thalia, which piqued her curiosity. "So, you like her?"
"I'm telling you, if you do fancy Thalia, you're in for a busy time."
"Why?" Elon didn't hide his interest in Thalia.
Marie patted his shoulder. "Lots of competition."
"Take your shower, then come find me."
...
"I just asked around Emerald City. It's confirmed that Elon is indeed from the Wilson family."
Thalia was drying her wet hair as she stepped out of the bathroom and saw Evelyn lounging on the couch. "Did that really need confirmation?"
"Elon Wilson from the Wilson family in Emerald City is quite famous."
Evelyn thought about Elon's physique and shook her head in admiration. "Handsome guy."
"Who do you think has a better body to touch, him or William, who's lean but all muscle?"
"You're asking me?" Thalia rolled her eyes at Evelyn.
"If you bring him here for me to touch, maybe I could compare. Imagining through clothes is kinda tough."
"What's so hard about that? Just picture him undressed in your mind."
Thalia: ... "If you're so capable, you do it."
Just as Thalia finished speaking, her phone rang. Layla was calling to tell her to prepare to return to the set the day after tomorrow.
"Back to the set? Facing Andrew?"
"We may not be award-winning actresses, but we're not pushovers either. Andrew's been replaced."
Thalia: ... "You saying that makes me feel like my dad's still alive."
"Your dad's dead?" Layla was shocked.
Had he died in just a few days?
"Half-dead, more like."
When her dad was still around, she wouldn't have had to endure such grievances. Before she could even speak, Hayden would have sorted everything out. Andrew dared to act this way because Hayden was near death.
"Watch your mouth," Layla scolded her. "Don't let people think you're always wishing your dad dead."
"Who's the new male lead?"
"First, we'll shoot your scenes. The male lead hasn't been decided yet. I'll let you know once it's confirmed."
Thalia grumbled, "Can't we wait until we find the male lead before shooting?"
"Halting production costs $6 million a day. You footing the bill?"
Thalia: ... "Forget I said anything."
The next day.
The Wilson family's thank-you banquet.
Evelyn showed up early to ask Thalia to go with her.
"Our new collection just dropped. Can't you wear something to help promote it?"
"No way. Even if luxury brands paid me, I wouldn't wear it. I don't take advantage of my friends like you."
"I'm begging you..." Evelyn clung to Thalia's waist like a desperate puppy.
Thalia was a well-known socialite in Emerald City. Coming from a wealthy family and being a celebrity, she had a great figure and looks. Many luxury brands wanted her as their spokesperson, and she got to pick and choose.
For major events in Emerald City, luxury brands would send their dresses to Thalia first. Only after she chose would others get a chance.
If she attended the Wilson family banquet without wearing something high-end, people would say Hayden was failing, and she couldn't afford designer clothes anymore.
Wearing high-end fashion?
The Wilson family was hosting this banquet to thank people and to introduce Marie to the Emerald City market. They wanted to show that Marie was back.
Thalia thought about it and decided to wear the dress Evelyn designed.
It was a fitted gown with wide sleeves, a mesh design on the shoulders, and velvet fabric that highlighted her perfect waist and exposed her graceful shoulder and necklines. It was both alluring and elegant.
"Ms. Smith really knows how to play to her strengths. This outfit is a real man-killer."
Nicholas was sitting in the car, about to get out, when he saw Thalia's car door open. She stepped out in a black gown, her exposed neckline graceful like a swan.
William looked up from his phone and saw Thalia walking into the banquet hall, her figure swaying.
He frowned deeply.
"If I were a man, I'd do anything to get her."
Angelina watched Thalia's back and praised her.
"Some people don't know what they're missing."
"If you're not using your mouth, donate it to someone who needs it," William said, opening the car door.
Thalia stepped up the stairs, handing her invitation to the staff. She turned and saw Elon, in a suit, standing behind her.
Yesterday, Elon was in sportswear. Today, in a suit, he looked even more handsome.
Thalia's mind flashed to William's face. Good-looking men in suits always had a bit of a predatory air.
Elon was no exception.
"Ms. Smith."
"Mr. Wilson, I didn't know you were from the Wilson family."
"Thalia," Marie called from afar, seeing Thalia on the stairs and noticing Elon's gaze on her.
"Let me introduce my brother, Elon."
"We met yesterday," Thalia said politely, extending her hand.
Elon shook her hand. "I hope yesterday's incident didn't upset you."
