Chapter 463 William's Biological Mother, Dione
The Mitchell family and the Carter family held an extremely lavish wedding in Regal City. They booked an entire resort hotel with thousands of square feet of green lawn and set up a stage for an outdoor wedding. The blue and white color scheme was the most popular wedding style at the moment. The wedding team was a famous crew in Regal City that had handled weddings for many celebrities and high-profile figures.
This wedding reportedly cost tens of millions of dollars.
Half of Regal City's elite and celebrities were invited.
The Carter family's status in Regal City was no less than the Jimenez family's, and Boone Carter had stepped down from a high position with many former students.
Half the people in Regal City's social circle were his students.
The position of Regal City University president represented connections and relationships.
For this wedding, female guests were required to wear white dresses, and men wore black suits.
Thalia picked out a sleeveless mermaid gown from her suitcase.
William, who was fixing his appearance in the mirror, glanced at his phone to check the weather forecast. "Three degrees below zero."
"I have a coat."
William nodded without insisting. "As long as you're happy."
"Should I leave first or you?"
"What's the difference?"
"What if we run into Selene? Wouldn't that give me an enemy for no reason?"
The wedding ceremony started at 3:30 PM. As 2:30 approached, guests began arriving one after another. Thalia didn't try to avoid attention and entered the hotel with William.
As they arrived, the ceremony in the backyard lawn was about to begin. Thalia found a random seat, while William walked over to sit next to Steven in full view of everyone.
Thalia watched the shocked looks on people's faces, her fingertips interlacing and rubbing together.
Instantly, conversations started around them. "Is that...?"
"Isn't that the Jimenez family's grandson?"
"Doesn't that make him Dione Jimenez's son?"
"What is Steven thinking? Bringing him to Regal City - isn't this slapping Dione in the face? Letting people know she's been married twice."
"Has he gone crazy? Trying to bring Dione down?"
"This Jimenez family grandson doesn't have to do anything - just standing there is enough to make Dione lose it completely!"
"Regal City's about to get interesting."
"What Jimenez family grandson? Don't you people watch the news? He's Emerald City's new elite, the current richest man. If you ask me, he probably doesn't care about the Jimenez family's little drama - they're just a fallen household anyway."
The people chatting nearby were interrupted by a cool voice. Their eyes fell on Thalia, finding her face somewhat familiar, and pointed at her in shock. "You're Thalia?"
Thalia's lips curved into a cold smile. "That's me."
"You just said he's Emerald City's richest man?"
Thalia blinked and nodded. "Yes!"
The person swallowed. "But isn't Emerald City's richest man your dad?"
"My dad died a long time ago."
Everyone kept quiet.
........
In the hotel's third-floor lounge, a woman in a silver-white gown stood before a large floor-to-ceiling window. Small silver flowers embroidered with silk thread shimmered brilliantly in the sunlight, looking almost real.
The epitome of high-end elegance.
The woman wore her hair in a bun, her figure tall and slender. Even at her age, her features were clearly refined.
"Madam, it's him."
"I heard he made a deal with Steven and came back to Regal City specifically to attend the Carter family's wedding."
Hearing this, the woman pressed her thin lips together. "So I've given birth to a blade pointed at myself."
The person beside her trembled at these words, not daring to respond.
Dione and the Jimenez family had a deep-seated hatred.
What Steven was doing now was clearly challenging her.
"He's still in Regal City. I can have someone..."
"No need." At a time like this, getting rid of him would only give people something to talk about.
"Have him come see me."
The man bowed respectfully. "Yes."
Downstairs, the ceremony ended, and everyone moved to the banquet hall inside. As soon as she entered and the heating hit her, Thalia shivered from the cold.
She handed her coat to a server, exchanged it for a special wedding ribbon wristband, and walked into the inner hall.
"Thalia."
"Gregory? You're here too?"
"Yeah, I didn't expect to see you here. I thought our next meeting would be far off."
"You and the Carter family?"
"My grandfather and Mr. Carter are good friends."
Thalia nodded. She'd heard about the Lopez family's position in Regal City, so it wasn't surprising.
"What about you?"
"Raymond invited me. Let's go inside and talk. It's cold here."
Gregory saw Thalia reach up to rub her bare arms. Without thinking much, he took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders. As the warm feeling settled on her, Thalia paused.
Looking back, the first thing she saw was William's murderous gaze.
"This isn't appropriate, too many eyes watching, Gregory." Thalia removed the jacket from her shoulders and returned it to him.
Gregory's expression changed, awkwardly taking it back. "I overstepped."
What Thalia didn't expect was that Gregory's small gesture today would make her days in Regal City extremely difficult in the future.
.........
"Mr. Brown, please come with me."
In the banquet hall, William had just looked away from Thalia when someone blocked his path.
Looking at the person before him, his eyes narrowed slightly.
The other person, upon first seeing him, thought how similar they looked!
Seeing William's world-weary, displeased gaze again, they thought - exactly the same.
Among Dione's children, this one probably resembled her the most.
"Ms. Dione Jimenez requests your presence."
"Sorry, I don't want to see her."
"Mr. Brown, you'd better see her," the other person patiently advised.
Steven, watching this scene from the side, started calculating. "Go see her! After all, she's your real mother. I'll go with you."
"Mr. Jimenez, you're not qualified."
"You..." Steven had his face rejected in public.
He couldn't quite save face for a moment.
William's gaze swept around the venue, as if looking for something. When his eyes met Thalia's, his heart settled a bit.
Thalia's gaze fell on William, watching his figure disappear from the hall.
"Whose person is that?"
"Someone from Ms. Jimenez's side."
"Ms. Jimenez?"
"William's real mother, Dione," Gregory explained to Thalia.
"I want to go see..." Thalia said.
