Chapter 447 I Will Kill You
"What current husband?" Thalia looked confused.
At the doorway, William's steps involuntarily paused when he heard this. He turned back and pushed open the study door.
As soon as he opened it, he heard Thalia say boldly and shamelessly, "What current husband do I have?"
Did her fans find out about her secret marriage to William?
No way!
Didn't they say the camera only caught footage of her sleeping? Did it also capture her phone call with William?
The moment Thalia finished speaking, she looked up and saw William standing at the door with a dark expression, his eyes practically cutting through her.
Seeing this, Thalia's back went numb.
The evasiveness and panic in her eyes couldn't be hidden. Fans watching the livestream exploded with comments.
[Did she see her current husband?]
[Don't tell me she just said she doesn't have a current husband and then got caught by him?]
[Wow!]
Thalia's gaze left William and glanced at the comments, only to find the comment section had gone wild.
"What do you by saw 'saw my current husband'?"
"Are people's minds really like this nowadays?"
[Then tell us what you saw.]
"I saw my cat making a mess!" As soon as Thalia said this, she switched the camera angle. Luckily, that silly Ragdoll was squatting on the desk in front of her, pawing at the water in her cup. Otherwise, she would've been totally busted today.
Also, lucky that William didn't make a fuss about it.
Great, after appeasing the fans, now she had to appease the man.
Meanwhile, Selene was bored scrolling through her phone when she happened to come across Thalia's livestream, just in time to see Thalia's explanation.
"A Ragdoll cat? Mr. Brown has one too. Why does everyone like keeping cats nowadays?"
Selene muttered while holding her phone, then took a screenshot of Thalia's livestream to share with Sophia.
"Thalia?"
"Yeah! That cat is so fat it's shaped like a triangle."
Sophia was eating in the cafeteria. She picked up her phone and opened Thalia's livestream, hearing her chatting with fans about the cat.
Sophia watched Thalia's entire livestream. In her mind flashed the image of the girl on the other end of William's phone call asking him to bring burgers.
........
"Mr. Brown, please go downstairs and check on Mrs. Brown!" After Thalia's livestream ended, she had some kind of crazy idea to go into the kitchen and make dinner herself.
Less than five minutes in, she nearly blew up the kitchen.
This scared Fallon so much that he scrambled upstairs, knocked hastily on the door, and without waiting for a response from inside the study, pushed it open directly.
William was standing by the window on a call with a business partner. Fallon's words piqued the other person's interest.
"Mrs. Brown? Mr. Brown, you're married?"
William smiled. "It's not convenient to make it public yet, but I'll introduce you to her privately when there's a chance."
"It's a deal then."
The man's voice was deep as he headed downstairs while responding, "It's a deal."
"Thalia, what are you doing?"
Mistwood Hill's kitchen was comparable to a five-star hotel's back kitchen, able to accommodate dozens of people working simultaneously. But right now, in this huge kitchen, she was alone.
"I'm cooking noodles."
William was stunned. "Nothing else to eat? You're eating this stuff? You're cooking noodles and that pot of hot oil next to you—are you planning to use it to blow up the kitchen?"
Thalia glanced over and only then remembered the pot beside her. She was about to reach over to turn it off when William strode in with big steps, slammed the kitchen door shut with a bang, his anger blazing. He reached past her to turn off the heat.
He moved the pot to another spot.
Thalia saw the man's gloomy expression, pouted, and muttered, "What's wrong? Coming home with that face, and I didn't even do anything!"
"Who's your current husband?"
Thalia replied, "Who else could it be? You, of course."
"That's not what you told your fans."
"I'm not stupid. Should I tell my fans everything? Their knowing would only cause problems, no benefits. What did we agree on at the beginning? Secret marriage, not making it public. Mr. Brown, why do you keep getting upset with me about this?"
"Besides," Thalia put the lid on the pot and walked up to William, hooking her arms around his neck, "as long as the two of us are happy together, whether others know doesn't matter at all. Happiness is like water in a desert—expose it to too much sun, and it evaporates, and people will covet it."
"I want to lock in our happiness and moisture. That can't be a bad thing, right?"
In the past, William would have believed these words, but now he felt Thalia was just sweet-talking him with nonsense. William reached up to pull down her arms. "Less than a year of marriage and you're getting better and better at talking nonsense."
"This is from my heart," Thalia pressed against William, not giving him a chance to break free. "Besides, it's enough that you know I love you."
"You love me?" Hearing this, William couldn't quite describe his feelings. It was like seeing a flower in thorns—touching, intoxicating, and beyond his control.
Thalia looked at him and nodded seriously. "Love!"
"What do you love about me?"
Thalia was speechless.
William's chest trembled lightly as he suppressed a smile. "Baby, do you know how many times this mouth of yours has lied to me?"
"I love your sense of responsibility, I love how you always follow through on your word, I love how you hold back your emotions every time, I love your tolerance of me. Mr. Brown, my love for you is real. You can verify it over and over, but if one day you betray me..."
At this point, Thalia's gaze fixed on William as she spoke word by word, "I will kill you."
Hearing Thalia's words, the man surprisingly felt no fear or unease. Instead, he was very happy. When two obsessive lunatics meet, the whole world seems abnormal.
He nodded solemnly. "Okay."
"Aren't you going to kiss me?"
The mood was right there—no gesture?
William gripped Thalia's waist and gently pushed her away. "I don't want to do the most beautiful thing with you in this kind of environment."
Thalia said, "Well, all those sweet words I just said were lies!"
