Chapter 415 Let Me Hear You Call Me Honey

Chapter 415 Let Me Hear You Call Me Honey

"Is it good?"

"Just okay," Thalia leaned back on the sofa with her legs crossed, holding a takeout box of barbecue. She looked completely relaxed and casual, with no regard for her image. The Ragdoll cat crouched by her feet, pawing at her hand, trying to see what she was eating.

Thalia felt playful and dipped her fork in the food, holding it out to the cat. Just as the greedy cat was about to stick out its tongue to lick it, Thalia laughed mischievously. "Go ahead, eat it! You'll die if you do."

Thalia watched the cat freeze and said sarcastically, "Cats stealing food and people stealing food are the same thing - it can kill you."

William was speechless.

"If you don't want to live anymore, just have a few more bites. Keep eating, and you'll drop dead."

"Fallon, get me some water."

William tugged at his tie, casually tossed it on the sofa, rolled up his white shirt sleeves, and sat down next to Thalia, watching her. His cold gaze fell on her without a word, but that look alone was enough to corner Thalia with no escape.

When Fallon brought the water, she sensed the atmosphere between them wasn't quite right.

"Mr. Brown, Ms. Harper Anderson called this afternoon, saying they're taking the evening flight back to Emerald City and might need to stay at Mistwood Hill for the night."

What Fallon really meant was: don't fight, Harper is coming.

William picked up the glass and drank most of the water, didn't respond to Fallon's question, but just waved his hand, signaling her to leave.

"Cheesy, come here." William patted the sofa beside him, gesturing for the cat to come over.

Thalia threw her fork into the plate, set it on the coffee table, and pulled a cushion in front of her. "Go ahead! You'll die if you go."

"Are you ever going to stop?"

"What? Don't make things up," Thalia denied it.

"William, you really don't know how to be grateful. If I wasn't done with you, would I go deal with those people who bullied you?"

"Look how lucky you are. You're out there having a great time with other women, while I'm at home cleaning up your messes. I'm so jealous of you - how did you manage to marry such a good wife like me?"

Thalia shook her head as she walked toward the first-floor bathroom. "Jealous, really jealous."

William followed her in, looking down at her. "Has Michael contacted you recently?"

"No."

"Why are you asking?"

"After you left the party tonight, Steven came up to me trying to play the family card. I kicked him back."

Thalia slammed down the faucet.

"He's so shameless."

"A lot of important people in Emerald City have been using me as an excuse to get close to Steven lately. Michael is a scheming person - if he's been around Steven during this time, he must have kept records of who went to see Steven, what gifts they gave, and what they asked for."

Thalia got it. "Do you want them?"

William nodded.

Thalia thought to herself, 'Well, well, William, even you have days when you need to ask people for favors.'

Thalia added, "I can do it, but..."

"Name your terms."

"Any terms?" Thalia tested the waters.

"Anything that doesn't cross moral or ethical lines."

"I want your private jet to take me to an island vacation."

"With who?" William was worried about being cheated on.

"That's none of your business."

"Not with a man," William stated his bottom line.

Thalia shook her hands dry, walked over, tilted her head to look at William, blinked her eyes, and said seriously, "Don't worry about that. After all, I'm in the rising phase of my career right now. I won't do anything to ruin it."

"Call me honey."

William was speechless.

"Are you going to say it or not? Is this request too much?" Thalia teased him, hooking her arms around his neck and bringing her nose close, rubbing it against the man's thin lips.

The rubbing made William break out in a thin layer of sweat on his back.

William had known for a long time that to achieve great things, you had to kill off all emotions and desires. From his teens to his thirties, over those ten-plus years, he'd had women around him - all kinds, each one a beauty. Even more so during those years abroad, when he reached the top, people had trained hundreds of women according to his preferences and sent them to him.

Every smile and frown of those women matched his preferred type, like perfect specimens walking out of a textbook.

Even so, he remained unmoved.

But Thalia could break down his walls.

Thalia was like a red plum blossom suddenly appearing in a deep winter courtyard, tempting William to reveal his true nature as a man.

"Say it somewhere else." William's voice was like a bass drawn from a wine jar - rich and deep, captivating without one even realizing it.

"Right here," Thalia forced herself to stay calm.

After living together for so long and having sex so many times, she knew well that William was the type who was reserved on the outside but passionate inside. Except during sex, when she made him feel good enough to hear him call her honey once or twice, it was almost impossible at other times.

It was precisely because Thalia knew this that she wanted to tease him now.

"Thalia, this isn't the right place."

"What's wrong with it? How is it not..."

"I can't bear to have your back against cold tiles."

Before Thalia could finish, William cut her off.

She froze for a few seconds, and when she came to her senses, she cursed in her mind.

Then she hooked her arms around William's neck and jumped onto him. The man steadily held her bottom as he carried her upstairs to the bedroom.

"Serve me well, and we can talk about anything."

..........

"Mr. Jimenez, when your grandfather went out tonight, more people came and brought lots of things. Your grandmother took them all inside."

"Do you have photos?"

"Yes," Henry handed over his iPad.

Michael took it and looked.

"Isn't he going to get in trouble sooner or later doing this? After all, Emerald City isn't Regal City - people aren't coming for him."

"When he gets in trouble depends on William's mood."

"Also, the Carter family and the Mitchell family's wedding date has been set - on Christmas."

"So soon?" Michael was surprised. He thought Raymond would struggle and at least try to push the wedding date back as far as possible.

"Was it the Carter family's idea?"

"No, apparently it was Ms. Eleanor Mitchell's idea."

"Eleanor?"

"There have been rumors lately that Elowen has been dragging down the Mitchell family and has confronted Eleanor multiple times in public, causing the Mitchell family's stock to drop again and again. Eleanor had it out with her grandfather, and to appease Eleanor, her grandfather took the initiative to bring up the wedding schedule with the Carter family."
