Chapter 400 Thalia is in Danger

Chapter 400 Thalia is in Danger

"Mrs. Jimenez, we just got word that Michael's being hunted down."

"By who?"

"Looks like Sean's people."

Hearing Stefan's words, Eileen stopped fiddling with the Bible in her hands.

She had just returned from church a few days ago. She read the Bible every morning and evening, and had just finished today's reading when she was handling it.

When Stefan came in with this news, it made her drop the Bible.

Eileen stood up and looked at Stefan. "You sure?"

Stefan nodded. "Positive."

"You may go."

"Next time you need to tell me about these violent matters, don't do it while I'm reading the Bible."

"Understood."

After Stefan returned to his room, he sat on the edge of the bed for a very long time before finally getting up to wash up in the restroom. No one knew what he was thinking.

After Eileen washed her hands, she took out her phone and called Sean. "Did you go after Michael?"

"Grandma, you really are the one in charge of our family. Nothing escapes your notice."

Sean's flattery was on point.

Eileen was pleased.

"I don't care what bad blood you two have, but everything must serve the bigger picture. We worked so hard to put you in this position, and we don't want you leaving any dirt on your hands that people can use to pull you down. You understand?"

"I understand. I wasn't planning to make a move, but when I heard you were wronged in Emerald City, I couldn't hold back for a moment. I was a bit impulsive."

"Grandma, you've lived a glorious life in Regal City, never suffered anyone's cold shoulder. But you'd barely been in Emerald City before William humiliated you like that. I just couldn't stand it."

"You know this is William's doing, so what's the point of going after Michael?"

Eileen kept a backup plan. Right now, the Jimenez family was heavily backing Sean, but if something ever happened to Sean, they'd at least still have Michael to rely on, rather than having the two brothers kill each other and end up with only one left.

"Yes, it won't happen again."

"You need to know that killing your own brother will ruin your reputation even more than killing someone else."

"I hear you. Thanks for the lesson."

Sean hung up, and someone beside him handed him something. "This is tonight's video of Michael on the street."

"Who's in that pink Cullinan? Trying to save him?" Sean narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Thalia. Half the circle doesn't dare mess with her. That car she's driving is also a limited edition Cullinan—only six in the whole world."

Hearing this description, Sean laughed. "Emerald City has someone like that?"

"Yes."

"Michael really won't give up, huh? After all these years, he's still secretly fighting me."

The person behind him said nothing.

Sean asked, "What does she do?"

"Supposedly in the entertainment industry."

"Get me a copy of her schedule for the next few days."

The person nodded and left.

..........

"Thalia, the day after tomorrow there's a mall scene. The basic flow is you get a phone call in the mall, run out to the parking garage, get in your car, and leave."

"The director specifically said this segment is a highlight of the whole series and must be done in one take for promotional purposes."

The production assistant came early to communicate with Thalia, who nodded to show she understood.

Looking at Thalia, the production assistant's opinion of her improved even more. No wonder several directors who'd worked with her in the entertainment industry said she had no airs—it was actually true.

The entertainment industry could use more rich heiresses like this—wealthy, beautiful, easy to work with, and good-tempered.

"Also, about the wardrobe, the director will have the stylist come talk to you in a bit."

"Okay."

As soon as the production assistant left, Isla arrived with people from a coffee shop, bringing a whole cart of coffee to distribute to the crew.

The male actor working with Thalia this time was a newcomer, probably someone a company was heavily promoting. His acting wasn't bad; he was good-looking, well-liked by the director, and performed well on set.

The guy was young but acted old-fashioned. Thalia didn't like joking around with him—she always felt like his mindset was outdated.

In the afternoon, after her scenes were mostly done, the stylist came to discuss things.

They talked until dark before finishing.

"Thalia, according to the stylist, you can't wear makeup?"

"No."

"Should we check with Layla about it?"

"Check what? Just listen to the director. It's a period drama anyway—it wouldn't look good all dolled up."

Isla thought about it and agreed.

..........

On the day of shooting, Thalia got up in the morning and didn't even wash her face. Following the stylist's requirements, she went straight to the set, changed into costume, and started filming.

The scene was about two people who'd been working together, hitting a bottleneck and preparing to close their company, when suddenly the country announced a new policy. The female lead, looking disheveled and about to announce the company's bankruptcy, suddenly hears this news and yanks open the door, running frantically to the parking garage to drive to the hospital and tell the injured male lead.

The whole scene was done in one take.

The emotional changes were pushed to the extreme. Thalia alone carried the entire crew's camera pursuit.

"Good, just like that."

"Excellent, simply perfect."

The director stood up and gave Thalia a thumbs-up.

Everyone on the crew stood up and burst into thunderous applause.

"We'll have the behind-the-scenes footage out tonight."

"I'm going to the restroom." After chatting with the director for a bit, Thalia excused herself and went to the restroom.

This building was constructed in the nineties and was supposed to be demolished, but the crew found it and managed to delay the demolition by two months, waiting for them to finish filming before tearing it down.

The restroom inside was also very old-style.

The wooden door creaked when you pushed it open.

If Thalia didn't know the whole crew was here, she definitely wouldn't have used this restroom.

She had just finished and was about to leave when she reached for the wooden door and felt something was wrong.

She pulled at the door—it wouldn't budge.

Suddenly, an explosion sounded. It felt like something burst open on the ceiling.

Thalia jumped in fright. When she turned to look, flames were already blazing on the ceiling.

"Damn it! How can it catch fire like this?"
