Chapter 372 Honey
The first thing Thalia did when she got home every day was take a bath. Fallon had gotten used to her routine during this time - the first thing when she got home was to bring cold medicine, then run the bath water.
Every day when William came home, he saw her in the bathtub.
"When will you finish shooting this show?" William asked.
"A few more months!"
"All on location for those months?"
Thalia made a sound of agreement, pulled off her face mask, and reached out her hand toward William. "Pour me some water."
"The way you're going, I might have to get a new wife before you even finish shooting."
Thalia snorted and continued, "Water."
William handed her the glass, looking down at Thalia lying in the bathtub. "The next few months of shooting are all on location?"
"Who's the investor for this show?"
"How would I know?"
"Ask Layla later."
Thalia got interested and sank deeper into the water. "William, you know what? When I was in middle school, I read a novel where the female lead was in the entertainment industry. The male lead thought she was working too hard and being exploited, so he started his own company, dominated the entertainment world, and helped his girlfriend reach the peak of her life."
William laughed. "Want me to help you reach the peak of your life?"
"Yes, very much."
"Call me Honey and let me hear it."
"Honey, honey, honey..."
William listened, nodding with satisfaction. "Mm, I heard that."
"You're leaving already? Where are you going?"
After saying all that, wouldn't she be losing out if she didn't get some benefit?
"Taking a shower."
"What? Is talking to me that dirty?"
William was speechless.
........
At Aurora Tower, Evelyn had invited some influencers over for business entertainment.
Their company was about to launch a new batch of winter clothing and had invited some influencers to advertise. They'd booked Aurora Tower for tonight.
They'd just finished eating upstairs and came down. Walking to the lounge bar downstairs, planning to pick a booth and sit quietly for a while, she unexpectedly glanced over at the bar counter.
Chase was famously flamboyant in Emerald City - a man who dressed flashily wherever he went.
She had no idea how a beauty like Elizabeth had fallen for him back in school.
"Evelyn, do you know him?"
Before Evelyn could look away, the influencer sitting next to her spoke up.
"You know him?"
"A woman in our circle is with him and even has his kid. I heard that on the day she gave birth, this guy gave her two million dollars, and now he gives her a hundred thousand a month in living expenses. That woman's been bragging about it in our circle every day."
Evelyn asked, "And she's okay with that?"
"Why wouldn't she be? In our line of work, we're only young once. Who knows when we won't be able to make it anymore. Now, while we're young, if some sugar daddy is willing to keep you, wouldn't you jump at the chance? Have his kid early, then use raising the kid as an excuse to get all kinds of money?"
Girls these days aren't stupid. Even knowing this man's a playboy, knowing he's unreliable, but still having his kid - there must be something in it for them.
They wouldn't do all this for nothing, right?
Evelyn was impressed by her words. "I can't control what others do, but we've worked together a few times now, so let me give you some advice - don't do this kind of challenging and dangerous thing. The money he's spending on you now, if his wife gets in a bad mood someday, she could make you give it all back. Even if he gave you cash with no transaction records, she could still make you cough it up."
"That's not possible, is it?" The girl didn't quite believe it.
Evelyn took a sip of her drink. "You're underestimating what a wealthy wife can do."
"Otherwise, you think with him playing around like that, having several illegitimate kids, his wife wouldn't know?"
Evelyn wasn't in the mood to educate people on this. She took out her phone and snapped a picture for Thalia.
After her bath, Thalia came out all flushed and red, sitting at her vanity in a bathrobe.
When Evelyn's message came in, she had just picked up her phone.
Thalia: [Michael and Chase are together now?]
Evelyn: [Looks like it. Your brother's got some issues.]
Thalia: [Idiot, damn it.]
"William."
"Do me a favor."
"What?" William was brief.
Thalia showed him the photo. When William saw Michael, his eyes narrowed slightly. "The Jimenezes really don't know their place! They've been so worried lately. Should we deal with this?"
"How do you want to deal with it?"
"Just listen to me." Thalia already had a rough framework in mind for handling this.
A fool like Chase would have some difficulty handling Michael.
Thalia changed clothes, put on a hat and mask, and prepared to go out. At the door, she didn't forget to wail, "Every time something like this happens, I feel so sad."
"All my hard work is just worrying about my idiot brother dragging me down."
William couldn't help but laugh, taking a sip of water as he watched Thalia's departing figure. "Go get 'em, Thalia."
"I hope when I get home, you'll be naked, clean, and waiting for me in bed."
Fallon was speechless.
This wasn't something someone in her position should be hearing.
At Aurora Tower, Chase and Michael were having a great conversation.
He rarely met someone like Michael who agreed with everything he said.
Thalia walked over and patted Chase on the shoulder. When Chase turned around and saw Thalia's face, he looked a bit unhappy. "What are you doing here?"
"Can't I be here?" Thalia pulled out the chair next to him and sat down, ordered a drink, and looked at him with her chin in her hand.
"Michael, what a coincidence running into you here. Is this what they call fate?" Thalia pushed Chase aside and sat down next to Michael.
She asked, "Are your injuries all healed?"
"Yes, thanks for your concern."
"You two know each other?" Chase looked at Thalia and Michael's friendly exchange, somewhat displeased.
"You're just finding out? Chase."
