Chapter 369: No Stopping at Night

Chapter 370 Snap Up

"Mr. Brown, the car Mrs. Brown wanted has already been reserved by someone else."

"There aren't any extras?"

Finn stood in the living room and shook his head. "Nope, it's a global limited edition. There's only one in the entire Emerald City."

William lit a cigarette, wearing a bathrobe with messy hair that made him look somewhat lazy. The red marks on his neck were barely covered - clearly someone who had just had sex.

The post-sex cigarette burned between his fingers as the man leaned casually against the desk, every pore of his body radiating satisfaction.

"Who reserved it?"

"Scarlett Lewis."

William's eyes flickered. If it had been anyone else, he'd have to think about it, but everyone knew Scarlett and Thalia didn't get along. Whatever ended up in her hands had to be taken away.

"Go snatch it."

"Got it," Finn agreed readily. He loved doing this kind of thing.

This kind of drama between wealthy heiresses was more entertaining than soap operas - like watching a live broadcast, he couldn't stop watching.

The next morning, Thalia had a dream where she and Evelyn went to check out hot guys. She was dancing close with a handsome guy in the pool when suddenly they both fell into the water.

An intense feeling of suffocation hit her, leaving her breath stuck in her chest - couldn't go up, couldn't go down.

She opened her eyes with a gasp to find William's lips sealed over hers.

"You..."

"The gift arrived, get up."

The curse about to escape Thalia's lips was blocked by William's words. Her foggy brain instantly cleared at his mention of a gift.

"What gift?" Thalia crawled to the foot of the bed and grabbed the robe she'd casually tossed on the bench, draping it over herself.

The white lace-trimmed robe clung to her body, showing off her curves. The belt outlined her slender waist - incredibly alluring.

"Limited edition Ghost."

"You got it that fast?" Thalia was amazed. There was only one in all of Emerald City, and plenty of people wanted to get their hands on it. William was really capable.

"Yeah."

In the courtyard, a pink car cover appeared before her eyes. Thalia was stunned.

"You're not just putting a pink cover on something to fool me, are you?"

"If I dared fool you, you'd definitely curse me out..."

Thalia huffed. "Good that you know."

"Mrs. Brown," Finn gestured for her to come forward and pull the cover.

"This car was already reserved by the Lewis family, but Mr. Brown managed to snatch it away."

"Who reserved it?" Thalia's hand paused on the cover.

"Scarlett."

"Why is the air so fresh this early in the morning? Was it specially purified for me? Just standing here doing nothing, I feel absolutely wonderful!"

As Thalia rambled on mysteriously, the cover was pulled off, revealing the limited edition pink Ghost.

Thalia's scream echoed through the courtyard.

She danced around with joy.

William stood in the courtyard, hands clasped behind his back. The morning mist from the mountains had lifted, water droplets glistening on the lawn, showing vibrant life.

Though it was a piercing scream, to William it sounded like heavenly music.

"William, you've grown even taller in my eyes."

"I love you."

"Do you love me the person, or the car I gave you?" William pressed.

"Both, both. Where are the keys? Let me take it for a spin."

"You're planning to cruise around in your pajamas?"

............

"How did this car end up in your hands?" With a new car, Thalia had to find an excuse to take it out. When she drove to Evelyn's company building, Evelyn was really shocked.

"Why can't it be in my hands?"

"Do you really not know or are you pretending? Scarlett has been posting about it on social media for a month, a whole month, going on about how lucky she was to be the first to put down a deposit. Just yesterday she said she was picking it up today. How did it end up in your hands?"

Thalia twirled the keys, humming smugly. "If it's supposed to be in my hands, naturally it's in my hands."

"If Scarlett finds out, she'll be furious."

"Whatever."

Thalia shrugged indifferently. "Come on, let's go for a drive."

Evelyn handed her bag to a subordinate, gesturing for them to take it to her office, while opening the passenger door and getting in. "Being this high-profile, aren't you afraid Scarlett will come looking for trouble?"

"Would I be afraid of her?"

Sure enough, the video of Thalia cruising around in the limited edition Ghost soon reached Scarlett's ears.

At that moment, Scarlett was arguing at the dealership. When she received the video someone sent, she shoved her phone in front of the salesperson. "This is what you meant by 'don't know who bought it'?"

The salesperson choked. "I really didn't know. When I came to work this morning, my boss told me the car was sold and driven away overnight. Ms. Lewis, I'm really wronged here."

"Expect a lawyer's letter, all of you." Scarlett stormed off and drove out to find Thalia.

She really couldn't swallow this insult.

She'd waited so long for that car. She was supposed to pick it up today, but it ended up in Thalia's hands.

And she'd brought a whole group of friends early in the morning to celebrate.

People showed up, but the car was gone.

She'd completely lost face.

Thalia closed the car door and looked at Evelyn. "Jealous, right?"

Evelyn nodded, glancing behind her. "Jealous. I'm going up for a meeting. You handle the situation behind you first, then come find me when you're done."

Hearing Evelyn's words, Thalia turned around to see Scarlett standing behind her, radiating resentment.

"Why is this car in your hands?" Scarlett snapped.

"Oh, this? I introduced William to a girlfriend, and to thank me, she gave me a car."

When out and about, truth or lies all depended on what came out of her mouth.

Scarlett was full of anger, almost ready to fight with Thalia, but hearing William's name, she instantly choked up. "You think I'll believe your nonsense."

Thalia swung the keys, looking casual. "Whether you believe it or not is your business. If you don't believe me, go ask."

"But I'd advise you not to ask, in case it's true and you embarrass yourself."

"Stop right there. Did I say you could leave?"

"Not letting me leave? Makes sense - you've embarrassed yourself enough today. Not only didn't you get the car, but the guy you like has a woman now. How pathetic!"
