Chapter 36 Vomited All Over William.....
"Thalia."
"Mr. Brown."
Evelyn and Brian's voices rang out at the same time.
The van door flew open, and a burly guy with a pig-like face stepped out, holding a steel pipe. He whistled at Thalia. "Alright, someone asked me to give you two a warning, and now my job's done."
"Ms. Smith, you're quite the looker. No wonder someone said if you could just beg beneath him, this whole thing would blow over."
"Mr. Brown, no matter how tough you are, you're still a newbie. Emerald City isn't yours to rule. Think carefully about who you should and shouldn't piss off."
William held Thalia by the waist, helping her stand upright, and smirked wickedly. "Is that so?"
"Someone with no background can be so arrogant..."
Before the man could finish his sentence, his neck was suddenly grabbed.
The man in the baseball cap stared at him with eyes like a grim reaper, filled with judgment.
William stood by, watching the man get choked, and ordered coldly, "Call the cops, send him to Matthew."
Thalia was stunned, unable to react.
The man in the baseball cap swiftly turned the man around, slammed him onto the car hood, and knocked him out with a hand chop.
Quick and clean.
Evelyn was petrified. She had heard of William's ruthless methods, but seeing it firsthand was a whole different story...
She instinctively grabbed Thalia's arm.
It seemed she needed to be cautious.
The other man trailing behind started screaming.
"Mr. Brown, Mr. Brown, I was wrong, I was wrong. Matthew sent me, Mr. Brown—"
The man tried to beg for William's mercy.
William casually unbuttoned his cuffs and spoke indifferently, "So now you get why Matthew didn't come to me himself?"
The man's terrified gaze fell on William, unable to speak, overwhelmed by his nonchalant demeanor.
Four or five people in the van were pinned to the ground by William's men, watching helplessly as their leader was knocked out and about to be sent to the police.
"Mr. Brown," the man in the baseball cap tossed the unconscious man to the ground.
Evelyn was shaken by the scene...
Thalia's face turned pale, her legs weak.
William noticed Thalia trembling and instinctively supported her by the waist, looking at her. "Send something to Mr. Moore, tell him it's my birthday gift."
Thalia: ...Pervert.
"Scared?" The parking lot returned to silence, with only the smell of blood lingering in the air.
William slowly turned, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear with a tenderness as if handling a rare treasure.
Thalia looked at William, unable to answer his question, grabbing his shirt and leaning on him, she vomited...
The vomit landed on William's expensive shoes.
Evelyn, who had just managed to suppress her nausea, followed suit and threw up.
"Thalia..." William's gritted voice sounded above her head, filled with frustration.
The warm, disgusting sensation even reached his foot.
...
"Thalia, what's wrong? You look terrible." Thalia returned home and had just sat on the couch when Jada came over with a cup of water, concerned.
Thalia leaned on the couch and waved her hand, "Nothing."
"I bought some steak this morning. I'll cook it for you tonight..."
Too gross.
How does a creep like William stay so cool?
"Throw away the steak. I don't want to see it."
That evening, Nicholas rented a yacht for his birthday party on the river. Thalia showed up in the hall wearing a purple qipao, looking elegant and seductive with a touch of nobility.
"No wonder she's the number one beauty in Emerald City!"
"Thalia's here to stir things up!"
"With looks like that, no wonder William's hooked on her."
Evelyn, in a floral dress, approached and glanced at Thalia. "Wow, you're really going all out! You look like you're walking the red carpet."
"Even if I wore a burlap sack, I'd still be stunning," Thalia said, calling over a waiter and grabbing a drink from the tray.
She made her way to Nicholas with a gift.
"Nicholas, happy birthday!"
Nicholas eagerly took the gift from Thalia. "Let me see what you got me."
He opened the packaging to reveal a delicate tie clip in a box, adorned with emerald and gold, clearly worth a fortune.
Someone recognized the tie clip. "Wow, Thalia, spending millions on a gift. Isn't this the treasure from the last Emerald City auction? So generous!"
Thalia blinked, her long lashes fluttering coquettishly. "Glad you know your stuff."
"Nicholas, you deserve it!"
Though Thalia's reputation in Emerald City wasn't great, she was known for her generosity.
Nicholas put away the gift and clinked glasses with Thalia. "You've really outdone yourself."
Thalia glanced at him. Nicholas smiled.
Just as he was about to say something, he felt a cold gaze from nearby. He turned to see William casually swirling his wine glass, his eyes locked on Nicholas's hand around Thalia's shoulder.
This sulky man...
Nicholas dared not offend William and awkwardly lowered his hand.
"I heard Thalia's been unlucky in love lately. To thank you for your generous gift, how about I lend you my house in Golden Valley?"
Golden Valley, William's neighborhood.
Normally, Thalia would have agreed, but now the thought of William made her nauseous.
"No need. Men are for occasional fun, the important thing is business. Nicholas, talk to your dad about changing your spokesperson?"
Nicholas's company recently developed a patented skincare line, gaining a lot of attention. Thalia had been eyeing the spokesperson position.
The gold tie clip wasn't given for nothing.
Nicholas hesitated, then nodded repeatedly. "Sure, sure."
"Is Scarlett here?"
"How do you know?"
"Why wouldn't I know?" Thalia retorted.
Nicholas glanced awkwardly at William. "Well, Mr. Lewis has admired William for a long time, always wanted him to marry Scarlett. Didn't expect you to intervene. Everyone thought Mr. Lewis had given up, but turns out he didn't care."
"William having a girlfriend doesn't matter?"
"Look at the people here, who doesn't have a lover?"
Thalia: ...Feeling insulted!
She glanced over at William's direction, seeing Jasper Lewis chatting happily with him.
Thalia moved, preparing to interrupt their conversation...
