Chapter 357 Thalia Lying on the Sofa, Held Down by William

Chapter 358 William Hugged the Person in His Arms

"Carry you to take a bath?"

When William pulled back the blanket covering her, he discovered Thalia with red eyes, sobbing and sniffling, looking as pitiful as a little white rabbit.

Amara thought, 'She's crying?

Well, someone's in trouble.

William's done for.'

"I'll head upstairs first." Being smart about it, she grabbed the medical kit and quickly left.

Downstairs, William wrapped the blanket around her and pulled her into his arms, using his thumb to wipe away the tears on her face.

"Why are you crying?"

"It hurts and you won't even let me cry?"

"Hurting for a bit is better than hurting for days. If I don't work out the bruising today, you won't even be able to get out of bed tomorrow."

"Everything's according to you," Thalia swatted his hand away.

"My dad's dead, and everyone's bullying me. Just because I have no one to back me up, they all want to destroy me. I'm already so miserable - lost my father at such a young age and still have to deal with bullying. And the worst part is, I didn't even provoke this person myself. I'm wronged."

"I'm so wronged."

"I'll take you shopping tomorrow to make up for your wounded little heart, okay?"

"So in your eyes, I'm that shallow."

William added, "Weren't you the one who said verbal concern isn't as good as cold hard cash? I'm offering to be your human ATM and that's still not good enough?"

Thalia's sobbing paused for a moment. "I know you don't love me, but I didn't know you don't love me this much - that you'd think of me this way."

William sighed helplessly, glancing at Fallon, then at the tissues.

Fallon got the hint and handed the tissues to William.

Thalia continued sobbing and accusing William.

The man used a tissue to wipe her eyes, then her face, before spreading the tissue open in front of Thalia.

The white tissue was covered with black smudges, red streaks, mixed with foundation - quite a sight.

"Still want to cry?"

Thalia's wailing came to an abrupt halt.

Talk about crushing someone's spirit - she cared about her image more than anything in this life.

And William actually pulled such a dirty trick?

Not caring whether her hands were injured or not, Thalia grabbed the tissue box from the sofa and smashed it right on William's forehead.

"Mr. Brown........." Fallon's alarmed voice rang out. Thalia was so startled her hand shook, and the tissue box fell to the floor, now stained with blood.

Thalia trembled all over, nearly rolling off his lap. William covered his head with one hand while his other arm stayed wrapped around Thalia's waist to keep her from falling.

"Ms. Anderson."

Amara had just laid down in bed, not yet having taken a shower, when someone started banging on her door.

"What's wrong?"

"Please come downstairs. Mr. Brown's head is bleeding."

"His head's bleeding? Did Thalia crack it open?"

Fallon's expression looked troubled, but the more troubled he looked, the more it confirmed that Amara had guessed right.

Downstairs, Thalia hugged a cushion to hide half her face, peeking out with just her eyes to cautiously watch William sitting across from her, holding his head.

"Feel better now?"

Thalia blinked but didn't speak.

"Still not better?" William picked up the tissue box from the floor and handed it to Thalia. "Hit me again."

Thalia was speechless.

"Holy crap!" Amara couldn't contain her excitement when she saw William's head.

"Wait, wait - let me get this on video!"

Thalia tensed up when she heard about the video. "Why are you filming? You're not going to tattle to your mom, are you?"

"Don't worry, don't worry. If my mom finds out you taught William a lesson, she'll send you money, believe it or not?"

As soon as Amara finished speaking, the video was sent out.

Thalia couldn't stop her in time.

"Some people are just so pathetic, having to use the sympathy card just to get their wife's forgiveness." As Amara spoke, she opened the medical kit, examined the wound on William's head, made a gesture, and looked at Thalia. "Here, look at this spot. Next time you want to hit him, aim right here. One good hit and you can get yourself a new husband."

William was speechless.

Fallon thought, 'Why do young people these days keep talking about swapping husbands and wives?'

"Looking for a beating, aren't you?" William shot Amara a warning glare.

She sheepishly shut up.

"Can't even let me talk now? I'm educating here. What if she runs into bad guys later - she'll know which spots are fatal."

On the other side, Harper got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and noticed her phone was lighting up on the nightstand.

She picked it up and looked.

"Vaughn, wake up. I told you! Thalia's there to teach William a lesson."

Vaughn, half asleep, had a phone shoved in his face.

When he saw the video content, he paused. "His head's cracked open?"

"So what if it's cracked? It's no big deal. Men don't know who their wives are until they take a hit." As Harper spoke, she transferred money to Thalia.

The note under the hundred thousand dollars read: [Well done!]

When Thalia saw the message, her mouth twitched as she glanced at Amara.

Amara looked back at her while turning to grab tweezers. "Did she send you money?"

"From now on, whenever you're broke, just beat up your husband, film it, and send it to my mom. Works every time."

Thalia was speechless.

........

"Ms. Mitchell? Don't you think there's something strange about this?"

In the early morning hours, Eleanor sat in her office watching the video of Thalia being kidnapped. From the two men sneaking into the company to Thalia leaving the set and taking the stairs down, throughout this whole sequence, Thalia's actions all seemed normal, just going with the flow.

What was strange was that these two men seemed very familiar with the Mitchell Group's layout, like they were in their own home.

And the person dragging Thalia into the office was able to open the door accurately with his back turned to it.

Normal people in an unfamiliar place would definitely fumble around first.

Eleanor tapped her fingers on the desk and called her secretary. "Come downstairs with me."

They went all the way down to the floor where Thalia was taken, following the trail from where she fought back to the office. The office was a complete mess.

"Whose office is this?"

"The Vice President of Sales."

"Turn on the lights."

The moment the room lit up, Eleanor scanned around the office, her gaze moving from the desk all the way to the filing cabinets.

"Ms. Mitchell, do you suspect there's something fishy about this room?"

"Yes."

"Knowing the crew was still there, they dared to kidnap someone openly - they must have planned an escape route. We need to find where that route is." Eleanor's hand slowly felt along the wall.

She swept through every inch of the office.

She opened the last cabinet and saw nothing unusual, feeling a bit disappointed. "Let's go!"

Just as she was about to turn and leave, her foot kicked a vase on the floor.

The vase rolled across the floor to the corner of the wall.

Suddenly, a painting on the office wall slid open.
