Chapter 335 You Touch Me While Sleeping and Don't Allow Me to Kick You?
In the study, desire was running high.
Thalia was completely captivated, her hands already getting out of control. Unable to get under his shirt, she started working on his belt.
"Take it off yourself," Thalia fumbled with it a few times without success, getting frustrated.
William was amused.
"Hurry up," Thalia kept urging.
The tension was at its peak, ready to explode at any moment.
A voice calling from behind the door instantly cleared the fog in Thalia's mind.
"Mr. Brown." Finn's urgent calls came one after another.
"Speak!" The man's response was brief - one word thrown out, burning with anger.
The gritted-teeth tone scared Finn, making him unsure whether he should say anything. "Stefan is at the entrance of Mistwood Hill."
"Tell him to get lost."
"When Stefan approached the entrance of Mistwood Hill, he crashed into Mr. Vaughn Brown's car. They both turned at a diagonal angle, both going fast. The cars collided, and there was an accident. Word from there says there might be a fatality."
Thalia was completely sobered up.
William even more so. Those words were like a bucket of cold water dumped over their heads, completely waking them both up.
Thalia put on a hat and mask and went to the hospital with William.
Amara personally went into the operating room.
She came out not long after, probably not as the lead surgeon. "Dad's fine, don't tell my mom. I'm afraid she'll worry."
"Okay."
The man's face was grim.
"Should I go check on Stefan?"
"Go ahead!"
"Mr. Brown, our driver... he's gone." Finn came up from the emergency room downstairs, looking at William with a heavy expression.
"Pull the surveillance footage."
"Already arranged."
Not long after Finn left to handle things, William's phone received the video.
Both cars were going under 60 mph, one going straight and one turning right. Stefan's car was forced into the far right lane by the other car cutting into his lane.
It looked like just an ordinary traffic accident.
But something seemed off about the whole thing.
Thalia watched the video and rewound it, pointing at the surveillance footage. "This car is clearly suspicious."
Thalia was talking about the fourth car. "That lane next to it is so wide, yet he changed lanes without signaling. He clearly wanted to do something."
"I'm going to make a call," William said.
Thalia nodded.
Not long after William left, the operating room doors were pushed open, and Vaughn was wheeled out.
"Fortunately, it's just a broken shoulder blade, nothing serious. After discharge, just rest well, and he'll be fine."
"Thank you all," Thalia nodded to them.
The doctors and nurses glanced at this woman wearing a hat and mask, somewhat curious.
Watching as the people around Thalia pushed the patient into the hospital room, people behind them started whispering. "Who is that woman? Why is she wearing a hat and mask in the hospital?"
"Mr. Brown is who he is. It's not strange for him to have a few people like this around him. Why be surprised?"
If a big business tycoon didn't have a woman by his side, people would say something else entirely.
"Stop gossiping."
"He's an investor in our hospital. Half of your annual bonuses come from his contributions. When you run into him, no matter who's with him, you need to treat them well."
"The director is right, we'll shut up."
The crowd dispersed. Only then did Amara come out of another operating room, just as William came in after finishing his call.
"How is it?" William asked.
Amara replied, "He's fine, just a broken shoulder blade. A blessing in disguise."
Others in the accident had died, and he only broke his shoulder blade.
"The person who died..."
"Someone will take care of it," William interrupted Amara's hesitant words.
She nodded and said no more.
"Should you go back and rest?"
"Yeah! Everyone being here is just a waste. Why don't you go back!" As soon as Amara entered the hospital room, she helped William persuade Thalia.
Thalia looked back at William. "With this happening right at our doorstep, I wouldn't feel safe going back alone!"
If it were someone else, fine, but this was Vaughn.
In the middle of the night, wouldn't she think about what just happened when she got to the intersection?
"Amara..." William's meaning was clear - he wanted Amara to accompany Thalia back to rest.
William had no shortage of people around him, no shortage of people to take care of things.
But probably out of filial piety, he felt uneasy not staying by Vaughn's side.
"Forget it, you two being here won't help anything. If you're worried about safety, just leave a couple of people to watch," Amara felt these two were acting strange.
When did these two start being so eager to look out for each other?
Amara added, "Go on, go on! I already said it's not a big deal."
William walked to Thalia's side, reached out to touch her head, and gently pulled her into his arms.
He sighed softly. "I'll take you back to the Smith Villa to stay with your mom, then I'll come back."
"I can go back by myself."
"I won't feel at ease. I'll take you."
Amara was speechless.
When Thalia got in the car, her mind was still on William's words about not feeling at ease.
The sentence wasn't long, but it was enough to put her at ease.
In the car, the person beside her was on the phone, giving instructions to subordinates, his tone steady and methodical, with the kind of composure that remained unchanged even if the sky were falling.
She propped her chin and looked out the window.
This man was like a thief, step by step walking into her heart.
Occupying that place.
"Want me to walk you up?"
"No need, I can just go in directly."
"Go ahead, I'll watch you go in before I leave."
Thalia opened the door to get out. With one foot already out of the car, she suddenly remembered something and looked back at him. "If you don't have anyone available in Regal City, consider Raymond."
"Okay."
"Good night, get some sleep early tonight."
.........
"Why are you back at this hour?"
In the dining room, Grace was drinking milk, getting ready for bed.
Thalia went over and took half a glass, roughly telling Grace about tonight's events.
Grace was calm. "For William, these things are routine. If you're going to get involved, they'll become routine for you too. Are you going to run home every time?"
"What? You're keeping a man now? Not letting me come home?"
Grace snapped, "Be serious."
"I'm sleeping with you tonight."
"No."
"I want to," Thalia was shamelessly insistent.
Grace had no way to deal with her, muttering for her to hurry up.
........
The next morning, Thalia was kicked awake from her sleep.
"Are you trying to kill me? Why are you kicking me?"
"You're groping me in your sleep, and I can't kick you?"
"I..." Thalia was about to snap back when she suddenly felt something soft in her palm. Looking down, her hand was inside Grace's pajamas...
She'd gotten used to touching William.
