Chapter 324 This Man Can Permeate Her Life

Chapter 325 The Man Gave All His Tenderness to His Wife

"Need help?" the man spoke up, his deep voice like a cello solo in a lonely forest at midnight—beautiful yet sorrowful.

"Please help me," Sophia said, as if she'd seen her savior. If she weren't holding Zephyrine, she would've grabbed onto his pant leg and begged.

The man lowered his proud head, and only then did Sophia see his handsome face clearly.

The man's whole presence felt like it had been shaped by hundreds of years in an elite family—low-key, humble, disciplined, and proper.

The highest form of desire isn't the pursuit of power or fame, but self-control.

The man before her embodied every word of that statement.

"You go get people and call an ambulance. I'll watch her for you."

Sophia didn't think twice and nodded repeatedly.

After Sophia left, William tugged at the leg of his custom-tailored suit pants and slowly crouched down beside Zephyrine, gently calling to her, "Mrs. Lowe."

Zephyrine lay on the ground, breathing unevenly. She struggled to open her eyes to see who was in front of her.

"It's you..."

"It's me," the man's tone was calm as always.

The man lit a cigarette and took a slow drag. This made Zephyrine, already struggling to breathe, start coughing violently. In an instant, blood surged up and spilled from the corner of her lips.

"Mrs. Lowe, your reach is quite long—it's already extended to me."

Zephyrine was furious. The Lowe Group was her pride, the front she'd carefully built over so many years, yet William had taken it all away, leaving her with nothing.

She'd come down from her respected position in the Carter family—how could she accept that?

It had taken her thirty years to reach that position.

But now, everything had become smoke and mirrors. And whose fault was that?

It was all William. If not for him, how would any of this have happened?

Zephyrine turned on her side, and even while coughing violently, didn't forget to jab at William. "Not enough. If my reach were long enough, I should've grabbed you by the throat and choked you to death, instead of giving you the chance to come here and gloat."

The man pressed his cigarette onto the back of Zephyrine's hand. As her scream rang out, he calmly uttered three words, as if giving a review: "Really unpleasant."

"William..."

Facing Zephyrine's pained gasps, the man's expression remained calm. He crouched on the ground, looking at her at eye level, as if chatting with an old friend, his face relaxed.

His tone was gentle.

"When branches grow too long, you trim them. When hands reach too far..." the man paused for a moment, then continued, "what should be done?"

"Hmm?"

"William, if you've got the guts, just kill me."

"Kill you? You think you're worth it?"

"Over here..." Before their back-and-forth could reach a conclusion, Sophia's voice echoed in the elevator lobby.

William looked up lazily, then returned his gaze to Zephyrine. "Mrs. Lowe, your daughter is quite pretty."

"William, what are you planning?"

"If you dare touch my daughter, I'll tear you to pieces."

'You dared to touch my wife, so why wouldn't I dare touch your daughter?' Of course, William didn't say this out loud.

As Sophia approached, the man pushed himself up using his knees, his eyes still looking at Zephyrine with mockery.

"The ambulance is here. Thank you. I've already called the police. If they need a witness, can I contact you?" Sophia saw the paramedics had already started examining Zephyrine, and turned her attention to William.

The man nodded very politely. "Of course. Your parents know me—just have them contact me."

Sophia was surprised, seemingly not expecting her parents to know this handsome man in front of her. She nodded. "Okay."

The bodyguard watched the man turn and approach, opening the car door and waiting for him to get in.

Inside the Bentley, the driver didn't dare speak, even unconsciously lowering his breathing, since William was currently in a foul mood.

The scene just now—Sophia hadn't seen it, but they'd all witnessed it clearly. William was the type who killed without batting an eye.

And his methods could never be described in just a few words.

Until a phone ringtone broke the oppressive silence.

"What's up?" With just that brief sentence, the bodyguard in the passenger seat knew this call was from Thalia.

This man who was decisive and shrewd in public gave all his tenderness to his wife.

And gave her all the emotions beyond his coldness.

Only the person in question didn't know it.

This two-year marriage was ultimately just a cover for certain people's path to a happy life.

"Are you back yet?" Thalia asked.

"Just about to. What's wrong?" William said indulgently.

"I want you to bring some food back."

"What do you want to eat?"

"Burger."

"You didn't eat dinner?" William didn't really approve of her eating these things.

He couldn't control what she did when he wasn't around, but with dozens of servants at home, couldn't they satisfy her needs?

Thalia lay in bed, hugging a pillow and rolling over, starting to be unreasonable. "Late at night, people get a bit lonely. Either the stomach is lonely or the person is lonely. If both the person's and the stomach's needs could be satisfied together, I'd love you even more."

William was captivated by Thalia's phrase "I'd love you even more."

"So do you love me now?"

"I do, but just a little."

For food, Thalia could say anything.

With all those years of experience pleasing Hayden, she could handle ten Williams.

Once a woman throws away her dignity and pride, what morals could possibly hold her back?

"If I bring it back, will you love me more?"

"Yes," Thalia responded sincerely.

"Wait for me." William hung up and told the driver to find the nearest McDonald's.

The driver listened with a sigh.

Sure enough, with William, only Thalia had special privileges.

As the ambulance left the parking lot heading for the hospital, in just a fleeting moment, Sophia saw that a black Bentley stopped in front of a McDonald's. Through the dim light, she could vaguely see the man in the custom-tailored suit standing inside buying burgers.

"Sophia, what are you looking at?"
