Chapter 216 Severing Emotions and Love?

Chapter 216 Severing Emotions and Love?

Thalia raised her hand and hooked it around William's neck, looking at him with a beaming smile, her tone light and airy: "Mr. Brown, I want to have sex with my husband. Is that illegal?"

"It's legal."

"Exactly! The look on your face—anyone who didn't know better would think I was having an affair!"

As she spoke, Thalia's boneless hand slipped inside William's shirt and poked his tailbone.

The poke sent a tingle through William's entire body.

He grabbed her hand to stop her from causing more trouble.

Thalia tried to pull back. Looking into William's eyes, her smile deepened. Just as William was wondering what Thalia was up to now, she slipped off her slippers and ran her foot up his thigh.

In an instant, William's sharp intake of breath formed a stark contrast with Thalia's bell-like laughter.

When Fallon came upstairs with fruit tea, she happened to hear sensual sounds and a woman's cries of pain coming from the living room. Startled, she quickly turned and went back downstairs.

She sent all the household staff away.

Young people's feelings heat up so fast.

..........

"Amara, there's an emergency."

"What emergency?" Amara had just taken off her white coat, ready to leave work. The shift ended at five, but she'd been in surgery until seven. Just as she was about to leave, more work came in.

"A celebrity, says she has chest tightness and difficulty breathing. The ER couldn't find the cause and wants you to take a look."

Amara: ........ "Got it."

When she arrived at the ER, Amara saw from a distance a woman in a white cotton dress lying on a hospital bed with her hair down, looking fragile and breathing delicately.

Amara picked up her stethoscope and walked over: "What's wrong?"

"My chest feels uncomfortable."

"How is it uncomfortable?"

"Sharp pain."

"Did you get a CT scan?" Amara looked at the nurse beside her.

The nurse handed her the CT results.

"The CT shows nothing wrong. Anxiety can also cause discomfort. Just relax—there's basically nothing serious. Rest for a bit, and if you feel better, you can go home."

"Amara, can you arrange for me to be admitted? I'd like to stay for observation."

Amara glanced at her: "Hospital beds are very limited."

"I can pay extra."

"Even with extra payment, there aren't any," Amara refused directly. What kind of celebrity was this? Coming here to show off? "I recommend you turn left when you leave and go to that private hospital."

Nora's face darkened. She had come specifically for Amara today, and now she was being dismissed like this?

Amara had just handed the items to the nurse and was about to leave when she heard crying behind her.

The nurse was also stunned. Are female celebrities all like this now?

"Amara, I really don't feel well."

Amara: .......

"Ask the ER to arrange it. That's not my department," Amara said and was about to leave when the ER director outside the curtain rushed over and grabbed her arm: "You made her cry and now you're dumping her on us?"

"You know you could easily get a complaint this way, right? If the director finds out, he'll definitely criticize you."

Amara brushed the hand off her shoulder and asked with a smile: "So why does he need to know?"

"My shift is over. Call me when someone's actually dying."

Amara returned to her office, took off her white coat, and when she got to the parking lot, she remembered something and called Thalia.

The delicate, hoarse voice on the other end made Amara pause: "Just finished having sex?"

Thalia choked on her own saliva and said hoarsely: "Do I have no shame?"

"We're all family, so can I come bother you guys today?"

William came in wrapped in a towel, carrying a glass of water, and saw Thalia lying half-dead on the bed taking a call, her back exposed, her hair messy.

"Come over!"

"You're the best. Wait for me. Want barbecue? I'll bring some good food to help you recover your strength."

"Yes."

"Wait for me."

With three chefs and dozens of servants at Maple Grove Villas, a barbecue meal was simple and easy to prepare. But Thalia enjoyed the pleasure of eating late at night—it reminded her of her college dorm days.

"Amara?" William half-hugged Thalia, pulling her up by the waist.

"Yes."

"She's coming over?"

"Yes."

After drinking half a glass of water, Thalia lay back on the bed. She tugged at William's arm: "Rub my thighs for me, they're so sore."

At nine-thirty, Amara rode her motorcycle with barbecue in hand, heading straight for Maple Grove Villas, but was stopped at the entrance.

"Hello, private entry and exit are not allowed here."

"So how can I get in?"

"Someone needs to come down and pick you up in person."

So much trouble? Sure enough, upscale places have no human touch.

Might as well block ambulances next time.

Amara took out her phone, tapped on the screen, and called Thalia. When the voice answered, she realized she should have called William instead.

Before long, William had the guard come down to escort her in. Amara carried her helmet and the barbecue, humming a tune as she entered the villa.

"Guess who I saw today."

"Who?"

"Nora. I don't know if she was really sick or faking it. She called an ambulance herself, went to the ER for a bunch of tests. Turns out there's nothing wrong with her, but she still said she didn't feel well. I told her to go home and rest, and she cried!"

"The ER is your department? Didn't you go back to your previous department? Did you mess up again and get sent to the ER by your director?"

Amara's hands paused while opening the bag: "Nonsense."

"Stop dwelling on my past."

Thalia tugged at her nightgown and sat cross-legged on the carpet, eating the barbecue Amara had brought.

"Where's my brother?"

"In a meeting."

"Does he make time to take care of you or make time for meetings?"

Thalia: .........

Amara opened a bottle of Coke, leaned close to Thalia, and asked excitedly: "So how is it? Didn't I tell you? A man like my brother—all proper on the surface, but once the clothes come off, he's definitely a wolf in sheep's clothing."

"Amara, do you have a boyfriend?"

"No, what do I need a boyfriend for?" Amara waved her hands repeatedly, avoiding the topic like the plague.

"Sworn off love? You........"

The teasing stopped abruptly. Thalia's phone on the table suddenly received dozens of notifications. She picked up her phone and glanced at it, her face suddenly turning serious.

"What's wrong?"

"Someone broke into my house."

"A burglar?" Amara knelt on the carpet and looked at Thalia's phone screen, seeing someone wearing a hat and mask searching for something inside the house.

"Let's go check it out," Thalia dropped the barbecue and pulled Amara toward the villa.
