Chapter 180 Another Man Delivers Barbecue to You, I Feed You Personally
"There's no buy-one-get-one-free deal!" Luca walked to the shop entrance and carefully checked the sign at the coffee shop door. Not believing it, he went in to ask, only to be told there was no such promotion.
"Thalia lied to us."
Gregory withdrew his gaze as she entered the residential complex. "Whatever. Let's go."
They were just colleagues. Perhaps after filming this scene, they'd never cross paths again.
Whether she lied or not didn't really matter.
"Gregory, don't you have feelings for her? She lied to you and you don't even care? Lately, a lot of people have been digging into your relationship!" Luca spoke up. Ever since Gregory protected Thalia at that banquet, people kept asking about their relationship.
"Just because I have feelings for someone means I have to demand they feel the same way? Luca, don't say that again. How's that thing I asked you to look into going?"
"Nothing yet. A lot of Thalia's information can only be gathered from rich kids in Emerald City's elite circles, but what they say is all mixed with truth and lies—not very reliable."
"Forget it then."
Gregory headed back to the hotel. Passing by that barbecue restaurant from last time, his eyes darkened slightly.
Thalia carried the coffee back and, as expected, saw William sitting on the sofa reviewing documents. This man came home from work still in a full suit—his dedication was truly admirable.
"Coffee."
William's gaze shifted to the cup of coffee Thalia handed him, and he thanked her.
"Mr. Brown, your dedication is truly awe-inspiring."
Thalia sat across from him with her coffee, legs crossed, watching him.
William responded with a faint sound, then patted the spot beside him. "Come sit here."
"Can I look at trade secrets?"
"Not secrets. It's a map of Wesley's assets."
Thalia was startled and looked at William in surprise. "You want to swallow up his assets?"
"That depends on you. Do you simply want to send them to prison, or do you want to bankrupt them so they can never recover?"
William took the coffee from Thalia's hand and had a sip.
Thalia sat cross-legged beside him and asked seriously, "Do I have to choose one?"
"What's wrong?" William raised an eyebrow.
"I want both. Is that okay?"
William thought to himself that Thalia really did have a princess's personality. Making choices was something only common people did.
William pinched her waist. "Young age, but quite a wicked heart."
"Walter's been leaving messages on my social media accounts every day. He can't find me, so he's starting to lose it," Thalia thought to herself—how did she ever listen to Hayden and date such an idiot?
"What if he posts dirt about me online?"
"You have dirt on you?"
"Don't I have plenty?" Thalia shot back. Her reputation in Emerald City was already notorious. William's question was really pointless.
William realized and chuckled. "True. Quite a lot."
"Has anything interesting happened on your set lately?"
"There is something, but in the entertainment industry, it's always the same old stuff. Nothing new."
"What happened?" William's tone was lazy as he waited for Thalia to continue.
"To put it simply, a female celebrity wants to create rumors with a male movie star."
"Gregory."
Thalia looked at William. "How did you know?"
William watched as the coffee she'd sucked up through her straw slowly fell back down, and he moved it aside in disgust.
"If I don't even have that much intuition, I won't even know when you cheat on me."
"What are you being so passive-aggressive about?"
Just as Thalia finished speaking, the doorbell rang. She went to answer it and found Luca standing at the door. "How did you find this place? What's up?"
"Did you forget? When we had barbecue together last time, you told me you lived here. Gregory asked me to bring you this barbecue."
Thalia: Her confidence in arguing with William instantly dropped by half.
Seeing that Thalia didn't want to take the barbecue, Luca put it on the ground. "Thalia, I'm leaving now!"
"Luca—"
Luca was so scared he didn't dare look back and quickly went downstairs. As soon as he reached the residential complex entrance, he saw Gregory standing under a tree smoking.
"Did you deliver it?"
Luca, out of breath and holding his knees, said, "Delivered."
"Did she say anything?"
"Not really. She just seemed surprised."
Gregory tapped his cigarette ash into the air. "What did you say?"
"I said you asked me to bring it up, then I left." He really didn't dare stay longer. No one knew what Thalia was thinking, and if he'd stayed, she might have thrown both him and the food out.
"Where are you going?"
Before Luca could finish, he saw Gregory stride away.
........
Inside the apartment, William tossed the iPad in his hand onto the sofa, walked to the door, put his arm around Thalia's waist, and bent down to pick up the still-warm barbecue from the floor. "Come on, let me see if the barbecue another man sent my wife tastes good."
Thalia: ..........
William carried the food while shaking his head as he walked inside. "How thoughtful! No wonder those female celebrities are throwing themselves at him."
Thalia: .........
"Thalia, don't just stand there. Come on, let me personally feed you the barbecue another man sent you."
Thalia: "William, can you act normal?"
"Can you have some conscience? Another man is already eyeing my wife, and you're asking me to be normal?"
"You can say our marriage is only for two years, but other men can't be interested in me?"
William tossed the unwrapped barbecue into the trash. Standing under the living room spotlight, he frowned at Thalia, his intense gaze darker than the sky outside.
"What are you trying to do?" Thalia watched as William unbuttoned his cuffs while advancing toward her, backing away in fear.
"Don't make things hard for yourself—my period isn't over yet!"
"Making things hard for myself is just a last resort. Thalia, you should believe there are other ways to torment you."
William unbuttoned his shirt. As he took it off, he pressed Thalia's head and kissed her frantically, plundering the coffee taste from her mouth. His muscular, burning body pressed against her skin, pushing her into the sofa.
Their lips and tongues intertwined, leaving Thalia unable to resist.
After a while, urgent knocking at the door made William stop. He slightly moved his lips away, his wildly beating heart still pressed against her. "Who's knocking?"
