Chapter 172 Filming a Kiss Scene and Getting Caught
"Look at what you've done," Wesley threw the documents in his hand right at Walter's face.
The sharp edge of the file cut a long gash across Walter's neck.
"Thalia hired William to handle this case. Do you know what that means? It means the Wood family doesn't stand a chance."
Walter held back his anger: "But even so, we can't be completely without options, right?"
"And why is Thalia suing us now? Why not earlier or later?"
Wesley was so annoyed by Walter's ridiculous logic that he laughed: "What do you think it means? Which is more serious - causing death or causing injury? She's been waiting for this day, Walter. Did your brain get passed down to your son? Look at yourself, what kind of life have you been living since you broke up with Thalia?"
Walter: ........
"The Wood family arranged such a good match for you, and you didn't cherish it. Instead, you turned against her. Think about it - if you and Thalia were still engaged today, and got married later, wouldn't all of Hayden's fortune eventually come to you? Look at yourself now. You tried to steal a chicken but lost the rice."
Walter was shocked by this realization. Who was Hayden? There were few people in the entire Emerald City who could compare to him.
If he had known Hayden would die this early, he would have done whatever it took to get Thalia to marry him. Getting billions of dollars in inheritance for nothing after marriage - wouldn't that be great?
Now, there was no going back.
One wrong step led to more wrong steps. He could already imagine how those rich kids would mock him when he ran into them.
.......
The day after the funeral, Thalia returned to the film studio. When Layla got the call, she was confused for a moment and rushed over from the company: "I thought you'd be depressed for at least a week or two. You're better already?"
"Making money is important."
Layla looked at her suspiciously: "Don't tell me you're trying to drown your sorrows in work?"
"Isn't that good? At least I have a place to drown my sorrows."
Layla waved her hand to dismiss the makeup artist: "Haven't you been out of touch with William for a while?"
"Why?"
"He asked me to send him your schedule this morning."
"You sent it?" Thalia asked.
Layla smiled: "Would I dare not to?"
When capitalists get ruthless, they can make her unable to earn a living, okay? William might show some humanity in front of Thalia, but to ordinary people like them, he's a first-class killer.
Thalia sighed: "Fine, what's done is done!"
"Thalia, Aaron's calling for you."
When Thalia found Aaron, Gregory was sitting in front of him listening to something. Seeing her arrive, he made room.
"The script's been changed. They're adding more scenes for you two. That clip Gregory posted on Facebook a while ago got a huge response. Now lots of people are following your storyline, so the production team wants to add more of your scenes."
"Wait, isn't there already enough?" Thalia was puzzled. If they added more, the whole show would just be about them.
"What's wrong with more scenes?" Aaron joked.
Thalia shrugged: "I'm just worried about shortchanging others."
"Either shortchange others or shortchange me - you choose. If your scenes aren't enough and the ratings tank, won't we all be screwed?"
Thalia's mouth twitched. She glanced at Gregory, and seeing he had no objections, she didn't say more.
"There's a night scene tonight. Be mentally prepared."
"A big night scene?"
"Episode seventy-eight in the script. Go look at it yourself." Aaron waved his hand, dismissing Thalia.
Thalia left awkwardly. Walking to her chair, she casually picked up her coffee cup and flipped through the script. When she got to episode seventy-eight, she spat out a mouthful of coffee.
Isla: ......"Sis, what the hell?"
"Shut up."
Isla saw Thalia flipping through the script, and a thought started jumping in her mind: "Are you looking at episode seventy-eight? When I was walking over, I heard several crew members gossiping about it, saying Gregory's first intimate scene in a TV drama will be with you."
Thalia: .........
"So? Excited?" Luca also came up to Thalia, blinking at her like a puppy.
Thalia wiped the coffee stains off the script with a tissue: "Does he have a good body?"
"Great - eight-pack abs, all muscle. Even as a guy, I'm jealous."
Thalia: ...."Got proof?"
.........
That evening, as it was getting dark, Aaron's team set up the scene and called for action.
Tonight's scene was one between her and Gregory after their characters' long-awaited reunion in the script - a love scene.
Pure yet seductive and alluring.
Thalia, in regular clothes, walked into the bathroom and saw Gregory sitting in the bathtub bathing. Startled, she was about to turn and leave when the man called out to her.
"Come here, help me wring out the towel."
Thalia walked over, stood behind him, wrung out the towel and handed it to him.
Unexpectedly, the man didn't take it. Instead, he braced himself on the edge of the tub and stood up, water dripping off him.
"That body - amazing!"
The crew members outside watched the scene, covering their mouths in amazement.
Thalia tried to dodge, but Gregory reached out, wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close, their bodies pressed tightly together. His low, seductive voice sounded: "Did you miss me?"
Thalia looked at him. Gregory pulled the towel from her hand and tossed it on the floor, then stepped out of the tub in long strides, pressed Thalia's head and kissed her, moving toward the bed while kissing.
"Brilliant, brilliant. Rarely do we get a scene like this that passes in one take."
"So hot." The crew on site had all turned into fans.
Gregory reached out and pulled Thalia up from where she lay on the bed: "Sorry for the intrusion."
Thalia coughed awkwardly.
Thalia lowered her head to collect her emotions. Just as she looked up to walk outside, she saw William in the crowd - in a suit, with a cold demeanor, standing at the edge, his gaze shooting toward her like sharp arrows.
Thalia was so startled she trembled all over. She stepped on the water on the floor and nearly slipped. In her panic, she grabbed Gregory's arm.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Thalia looked up again but didn't see anyone. Did she see wrong? Wasn't that William?
