Chapter 143 You Want Me to Let You Go?
"Mr. Brown, can this female hooligan give you a suggestion?"
"Go ahead," William said. How could he not see that Thalia was deliberately tormenting him?
Knowing full well she was on her period, yet still seducing him so brazenly—was she doing it on purpose?
No rush, he had plenty of ways to get back at her.
William propped himself beside Thalia, looking down at her, waiting to see what shocking thing she could say.
"Change your shampoo and body wash! Otherwise, when I'm flirting with you, I always get this guilty feeling like I'm flirting with a good man."
William: ..........
The next day, Thalia had the day off and wanted to catch up on sleep, but before 8 a.m. someone woke her up.
William stood by the bed, pulled Thalia up, and pushed her toward the bathroom.
"What are you doing?"
"Wasn't it you who said I should change my shampoo?"
"Are you crazy? Eight in the morning? What shampoo is worth buying at 8 a.m.?" Thalia was a bit angry, struggling to lie back down on the bed.
She lay down, William pulled her up.
This repeated four or five times.
Thalia gave up, sat cross-legged on the bed looking at William, radiating a sense of defeat.
"I was wrong."
"Wrong about what?" William's tone was gentle, without a trace of displeasure.
"I shouldn't have seduced you last night." Thalia had always been flexible—for the sake of sleep, what was an apology?
Besides, today wasn't the weekend. A busy person like William didn't have extra time to waste with her. He probably just wanted to give her a hard time and was waiting for an apology, then this whole thing would be over.
Once again, William marveled at Thalia's ability to read the room. Her perceptiveness truly amazed him.
"Want me to let you off?"
"Yes," Ms. Smith admitted directly.
William chuckled softly and nodded slowly. "Alright then."
"One kiss and I'll let you off."
Thalia's eyes flickered. That simple?
Before William could react, Thalia cupped his face and kissed him.
"Are you being perfunctory with me?"
Thalia kissed him again.
William's eyes showed displeasure. "That's it? Thalia, if you don't want to sleep, get up."
Thalia hesitated. She had been sitting on the bed but now half-knelt, hooked her arms around William's neck, and lowered her head to kiss him. Suddenly thinking of something, Thalia looked down at William: "Mr. Brown, I haven't brushed my teeth. Do you mind?"
William didn't give Thalia a chance to speak. He pressed the back of her neck and brought her lips to his.
A lingering, passionate kiss began the morning, like the warm sun gradually rising outside.
Even after William left, Thalia still lay in bed, savoring the lingering, passionate kiss.
The beautiful scenes she had fantasized about during her school days had become reality.
Who could understand this heart-pounding feeling?
Thalia, who had wanted to sleep, was completely aroused by William.
Finally having a day off, yet unable to sleep at 8 a.m.
William, that damn man.
.........
"Intense battle last night?" Evelyn was invited out by Thalia for a spa. As soon as Evelyn saw her, she thought Thalia looked like she'd been through an ordeal.
Her dark circles were particularly heavy.
Thalia rolled her eyes at Evelyn: "I don't have a hobby of having sex when I'm on my period."
"Then why do you look... like you've overdone it?"
Thalia took a breath: "Do you think William loves me?"
Evelyn had just picked up her cup to drink water when she heard Thalia ask this with such melancholy. She couldn't hold back and sprayed out a mouthful of water.
"Are you disgusting?" Thalia said with distaste while pulling out a tissue and handing it to Evelyn.
Evelyn took the tissue and wiped her mouth: "Don't tell me you just figured this out."
"Someone like William who never does anything without benefit—if he wasn't interested in you, do you think he'd go through all that trouble to get you?"
"But that doesn't mean he's fallen in love with me! Maybe he's just unwilling to give up or likes me a little?"
Evelyn wanted to say something, but after thinking about it, Thalia being this slow to realize wasn't such a bad thing.
You can be sensitive about anything, just not about feelings.
Thalia was about to say something when a message came in. She picked up her phone and looked. When she saw the message, her eyes narrowed slightly.
"What's wrong?"
Thalia handed her the phone: "Look."
"Which bitch did this? Hitting a woman."
"Scroll down," Thalia reminded her.
Evelyn scrolled down the message. When she saw the text that was sent, she paused: "Walter?"
"Wasn't he pretty well-behaved when he was with you? How come he's started domestic violence now?"
Thalia clicked her tongue dismissively: "People all like to bully the weak."
After finishing their spa with Thalia, Evelyn went to a nearby mall. As soon as they got off the elevator, Evelyn was pulled by Thalia into a corner.
"What's wrong?"
Thalia tilted her chin, signaling her to look.
Evelyn looked up and saw Emma's figure passing by, with a man wearing a baseball cap following behind her.
Wasn't that man Andrew?
"This Andrew is really pitiful. Having an agent as disgusting as Linda, being messed up by Linda like this."
"When he was famous, would he have even looked at Emma?"
"What's Scarlett been up to lately?"
"Busy with her face? I heard she went for plastic surgery again recently."
Thalia: ........
..........
"Mr. Smith, there's news from Mr. Brown's law firm saying that Mr. Brown has accepted Ms. Smith's case."
"When did this happen?" Chase's expression turned stern when he heard this.
"Just these past few days."
"Why? Hasn't William always not wanted to get involved in the Smith family's affairs? Why would he suddenly accept Thalia's case?"
Chase panicked.
If Thalia got William, wouldn't that be like adding wings to a tiger?
Wouldn't Thalia be even more arrogant when she saw him in the future?
The other person shook his head to indicate he didn't know.
"Go find out."
"See what connection they have. Whatever Thalia can give William, I can give too."
"Mr. Smith, I've recently heard some rumors in Emerald City about Ms. Smith and Mr. Brown."
"Speak," Chase said impatiently.
"Supposedly, Ms. Smith pursued Mr. Brown when she was in high school, and after Ms. Smith got him, she dumped him. I'm wondering if these two might have rekindled their old flame, which is why..." The person's voice grew smaller and smaller as he spoke, because Chase was looking at him with murderous intent.
"Get the car ready. I'm going to see her."
