Chapter 135 So Mrs. Brown Is Going to Coax Me?
This was completely different from the perfect secret marriage life she had imagined. Wasn't it supposed to be each doing their own thing? After all, it was just a two-year marriage, and they'd divorce when it was up. Did they really need to see each other every day and work on their relationship?
Thalia vaguely felt like she had fallen into William's trap.
"Even busy people have off-work hours."
Thalia changed into slippers and entered the house. "So you're off work now?"
"Pretty much!"
"Why don't you ask the iPad in your hand if it agrees with that?"
William took off his gold-rimmed glasses from his nose, rubbed his temples, then looked up. The fatigue in his eyes vanished instantly, making Thalia think he had some kind of magic.
"Chase is looking for Ruby. Are you going to tell me where Ruby is?"
"What's the point of finding her?"
"Ruby's shares in the company should be enough to give you all headaches." Thalia must know this, which is why she didn't want Chase to contact Ruby. Otherwise, why would she hide Ruby?
"She's abroad. I can guarantee Chase won't find Ruby. As for everything else, shouldn't Mr. Brown solve that for me soon?"
Thalia had planned to take a shower as soon as she got home, but she didn't expect to have to deal with William.
"Do whatever you want. I'm going to shower."
After Thalia showered and came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, she opened the closet to look for pajamas and saw a set of men's pajamas squeezed among dozens of women's pajamas.
"Mr. Brown, are you planning to live here permanently?"
"Is there a problem?"
Thalia glanced at him. "No problem, but don't you think it's inappropriate?"
"We're legally married." William walked toward her with a water glass. He looked down at Thalia from above. Fresh from the shower, Thalia's hair hung wet on her shoulders, with water droplets falling.
Water dripped from her smooth shoulders onto the floor. The fruity scent of shampoo and body wash filled William's nostrils.
"Besides, Mrs. Brown, have you forgotten? The agreement says two years of marriage, not two years of living separately after marriage."
As William spoke, he freed one hand to touch the stray hair on Thalia's shoulder.
Thalia tilted her neck slightly, dodging his move.
"So? Is Mr. Brown planning to fully implement two years of married life?"
William lowered his hand and continued drinking water. "That's the idea."
"I only find men useful when my hormones are running wild. When I'm sober, I think men are really dirty. I definitely have no problem living a normal married life with Mr. Brown, but... I have a bad temper. You might not be able to handle it."
"I've seen it. I can accept it."
"I also like to mess around outside."
William's expression didn't change as he took a sip of water and continued, "It's fine. I'll solve the problem at its root."
Thalia watched William casually place his unfinished glass of water on the bag rack in the closet, looking at him warily. "How will you solve it?"
As soon as Thalia finished speaking, William grabbed her waist and pushed her onto the bathroom counter.
Thalia's heart raced as she clutched the towel at her chest.
Before she could say anything, she felt warmth on her calf. Looking down, she saw William kissing her calf.
Thalia's whole body tingled.
Was this the William she knew?
He seduced her last night, and today he's licking her.
Was William still the cold, superior student she knew back then?
William's kisses traveled all the way to her foot. Thalia felt tingles crawling up her spine.
She trembled uncontrollably. Thalia reached out to push him away. William took her hand and slowly stood up, using his seductive voice to enchant her. "Break your legs."
"You—"
"Where's the hairdryer?"
William didn't give her a chance to speak, cutting Thalia off.
Thalia's temper flared. Something flashed through her mind, and she pushed William hard. "Get away."
William stepped back slightly, not angry. He walked toward Thalia. "Are you mad?"
"You want to break my legs and won't let me be angry?"
"You want to go find other men and won't let me break your legs?"
"How about this," William thought for a moment and came up with a compromise. "Whoever you want to find, I'll bring them to you, then break his legs?"
Thalia: ...Why did her legs suddenly feel itchy?
She couldn't win an argument with William. At most, she could just make him angry.
"Let go of me."
"Where's the hairdryer?"
"Bottom of the closet."
Soon Thalia was sitting in front of the vanity mirror, with William standing behind her, drying her hair with the hairdryer.
The warm air made Thalia drowsy.
"Sleepy?"
"Yes."
"Is filming tiring?"
"Yes."
William looked at her bare face through the mirror. "So tired but still in the mood to have dinner with other male actors?"
Thalia instantly woke up. So that fleeting thought in her mind was real?
"You saw?"
"Yes."
"From the sky?"
William was speechless. He didn't want to continue and made up an excuse. "I saw it with binoculars."
"Mr. Brown, you didn't just get jealous seeing me eating with another man, did you?"
William didn't hide it. He hummed and nodded. "So is Mrs. Brown going to comfort me?"
Thalia couldn't be bothered with him. She pushed him away, casually fixed her hair, climbed into bed, and prepared to sleep.
"Do whatever you want, just don't wake me up."
William looked at Thalia curled up in bed. He sighed helplessly.
Thalia was still Thalia.
Unchanged for decades.
........
"Going back?" In the hotel, Andrew lay on the bed watching Emma getting dressed at the foot of the bed.
Emma replied, "I already asked about what you mentioned yesterday."
Andrew felt like he had gotten close to Emma, but not really. How to put it?
He hadn't seen much substance.
"You've been drinking. I'll drive you."
Emma thought about it and nodded. "Let's go."
Andrew drove Emma home. Just as they reached the villa entrance, they saw another car. Walter stumbled out holding the car door, and Aria quickly caught him, preventing him from falling.
Andrew's hand tightened on the steering wheel. She's pregnant...
Up ahead, Walter tried to shake off Aria's hand, not wanting her to touch him.
Aria supported her belly with one hand while reaching out to help him with the other.
"I'll get out first."
Emma said, grabbed her bag, and got out of the car. She walked into the yard and shouted into the house. Three or four servants came out to help Walter inside.
As for Aria, she followed behind them into the house, supporting her waist.
The moment the door closed, Andrew heard scolding from inside the house...
