My own surprise
Evelyn’s POV
We showered together, stayed up late, and watched some movies on Netflix.
We cuddled and slept off.
The next morning I woke up but Walt was still sleeping, I went to the window and stared outside it, the view was so beautiful and refreshing.
“You like the view?”
“Babe, you are awake, yes I love the view “
I walked up to him and gave him a big hug as if we hadn't just woke up from the same bed.
“Why did you wake up so early?”
“Walt is not so early, it's 8:30 and it's a Monday morning I need to go to work”
“What work?”
“Babe? What do you mean?”
“I know what you are saying, but I'm saying you should be home today”
“Why?”
“Have you forgotten the party, Rachel talked about? Remember we agreed to bring the guests here instead “
“Oh, yes, but babe they are your friends “
“Yes, and you are my wife “
“Oh, God, Walt “
“What?”
“You are such a baby”
“Yeah, I am, speaking about being a baby, I need to go to my mum, and I have a surprise for you, but the surprise is still on its way”
“Another!”
“Yes my love”
“Oh, my God, I need to plan something for you too, let's see what can I do for you, Hm”
“Give me a kiss right now, that will make my morning better”
“Oh, I see, come here baby “
I kissed him on his lips and he bit my lips.
“Ah! Walt! What was that for?”
“I thought you might like it, I'm sorry babe”
Through the window, we saw cars coming inside the house about 6 of them, Walt quickly walked to the window to check.
It was his father, Mr. Andrews, and some of his friends.
“Dad!”
He quickly ran and held my hands.
“Babe, that's my father, he was too busy he could not attend the wedding, Mum must have forced him to come over”
“Walt, I called your dad, on our wedding day you talked about how much you missed your father and it's been ages since you last saw him so I collected his number from your mum and then I talked to him and requested him to come and here he is. This is my little surprise babe”
I said and kissed his lips, he hugged me and wrapped his hand around me, he was more than happy, and for a moment I wished it was my dad.
I understood how Walt felt, I missed my father every day and wished to be with him.
“A little surprise? Are you crazy? I haven't seen my dad for about two years now because of how busy we both have been, you brought him to me and you called it a little surprise “
He hugged me again and I was emotional, I was so happy for him, he loved his parents so much, and I loved that about him.
We changed our clothes and ran downstairs.
Mrs. Andrews had already seen her husband's car and had run outside to meet him, she hugged and kissed him, and she brought him inside the house and everyone came to the sitting room to welcome him.
Walt went to his dad and hugged him with so much love and I immediately remembered my parents and how much, have missed them, Walt's, mum came to me and gave me a big hug.
“Thanks my darling for bringing a father and son together, and I don't want you to feel sad in any way okay, I am your mum, and Mr. Andrews, is your father okay, baby girl ?”
“Yes, mum”
I hugged her and tears rolled down my cheeks, she has always been so good and nice to me ever since she met me.
The girls all came to hold and pat my back.
“Girl, I'm sorry but take a look at Walt and his dad, which of them is Walt, the resemblance is too much”
Chloe said while she stared at both Walt and his father, they looked so much alike I didn't even notice at first.
“They could both pass off as twins you know”
Rachel said with her mouth wide open as she stared at them.
Not just the fact but everything about them was the same, his dad also had tattoos and I was sure he would be as naughty as Walt.
“Why is the beautiful lady crying?”
Walt's dad walked toward me and asked, his face looked exactly like Walt's, Rachel was right they could easily pass off as twins.
Walt walked toward me, wrapped his hand around me, softly patted my back, and kissed my forehead.
“Oh, I’m sure this is your wife, my daughter-in-law, the one that called and told me to come here by all means, 'm I right”
“Yes, sir”
“No, to you it's Dad”
Mr. Andrews said to me with a big smile on his face.
“Yes, Dad”
I tried my best to keep my tears from falling out of my eyes.
“So you are, the beautiful girl my son got married to, he took after his father, I mean just look at my beautiful wife over there, one would think she has never given birth, right?”
“You are very right Mr. Andrews”
Chloe smiled and said to him
“And you are?”
“I'm Chloe, your son's wife's best friend “
“You could have just easily said the best friend part, why bring the son?”
I said to her while laughing.
“Right? I mean what's your son's wife's best friend? Sounds so local “
Rachel rolled her eyes and looked at Chloe.
“Okay that's enough don't make the pretty lady feel bad”
“It's fine sir, I'm used to them always throwing me under the bus in every situation “
Chloe has always been a drama queen so I wasn't even surprised by her reply, Walt on the other hand stood there and stared at her with eyes wide open he was amazed by her performance.
