Chapter Twenty-five.

I watched her as she approached me and Damien. I was still wondering who she was and what relationship she had with Damien that made her call him her baby but my thoughts were Interrupted.
‘Why is he standing out here looking so shocked? Who is she? And why is she–’ I couldn't completely think properly as her heels and foot step were making so much noise.
“Hey baby.” she said when she approached closer, she had a black shiny hair, an ocean like eyes and a very light skin color, her body was an hourglass and she was well endowed, I had analysis her immediately I could see her closer and I would say she is the type of women men fight for and die to be with but I couldn't help but wonder why she is here and what kind of relationship she has with Damien to call him that.
“Who is this? Can't she greet me or something?” She asked as soon as her eyes landed on me.
I was lost in thought and I couldn't think straight, I had so much going on in my head. “Huh?” I replied.
She got angry and walked to me and was standing directly in front of me. “Didn't you hear what I said? Can't you greet me?” She asked.
My brain failed me at a time like this, I went mute and was unable to say anything. ‘I wanna slap her across the face for calling my man her baby, who does she think Damien is? Why isn't he even introducing me as his woman so she can shut her mouth up? Who does she think she is?’ I said within myself but I couldn't open my mouth to say anything
“Are you deaf or som–” she said but I paid her dust and before she could complete her words, Damien dragged her away, I stood still and watched them walk away into thin air.
I scoffed. “Really!” I asked loudly and went back inside. “He is gone already.” I said and everyone was excited but not me, I was fuming with so much anger that I couldn't concentrate on the rest of the meeting. ‘Did he just leave with that woman? What do they have together? Did he not see me standing there? No explanation? Am I that invisible?’ a lot of questions kept clouding my head and thoughts, I wasn't able to concentrate on anything.
The meeting has ended and everyone has dispersed but I wasn't aware, until Lucy tapped me. “Hey Tess, are you good?” She questioned as I began consciousness suddenly.
“Huh? Uhmm…yes, yes, I am good.” I lied through my teeth.
“But why–” she was about to ask questions but I interrupted her.
“Do you have any idea who the woman in the building is?” I asked, forgetting I was the only one who had seen her.
“What woman?” She asked.
I looked at her with a very serious face. “The woman, Dam…sorry the boss went away with?” I asked.
She has never been more shocked than before. “Uhmm, I don't know what you're talking about here Tess, I haven't seen any woman and you were the one who told us the boss left, remember?” She said,
“Ohh, that's true…I'm sorry, I thought y'all…nevermind, let's go back to the office.” I said, dispersing the conversation, I stood up, picked up my tablet and walked away. She watched me walk away for a while then I turned back to call her. “Are you not going again?”
“I am just wondering what is going on with you!, talking about different things but my mind wasn't fully in the conversation we were having.
We got back to the office, I sat down and let out a loud sigh and began to continue on the work I had that was undone.
My mind was drifting from one thing to another, not focusing was harder than I thought. “Who the hell does she think she is?” I spoke loudly and that drew the attention of Leah.
She looked at me oddly. “You good?” She asked.
I looked at her with a fake smile. “Yeah, sure I am good.” I lied.
“Alright, just be good.” She said and continued what she was doing.
Just then Damien walked in, looking so furious and unhappy but I didn't care about that, I also wasn't looking at his face.
‘He didn't even look at me or say a word to me, who does that?’ I said within myself before standing up with the anger I was feeling within me, I walked straight to his office, pushed the door open without knocking.
“Who is she?” That was the first question that came out of my mouth.
He turned to look at me with his eyes red and angry. “I am not really in the mood for this right now,” he said.
“You're not in the mood or you're trying to avoid the damn question?” I questioned him.
“Look at me, I am not in the mood for all of these, let's talk about it…maybe later.” He said, sounding very calm.
I was so engulfed with my own desire and anger that I didn't pay attention to everything he was saying. “Who is she?” I asked again.
He didn't reply but was groaning lowly. “Please, stop asking me questions about her or–” he was about to say.
“Fucking talk to me, who the hell is she?” I repeated the question again.
“I don't wanna talk about it Tess, please stop.” He pleaded.
“I don't care if you don't wanna talk about it, I just want to know who she is–” I didn't finish my sentence when he Interrupted me.
“Stop it please!! Fucking drop it already, I don't wanna talk about it and that should stay that way!!” He shouted and I could feel my body shaking from the rage I saw in his eyes and how harsh his tone sounded.
I scoffed as tears filled my eyes immediately. “Uhmm…I….got…to.” I didn't complete my words as I opened the door and walked out of his office.
“Tess..Tessy, hold on, I didn't mean to–” he was saying when I closed the door on his face.
“Tess, come see wh–” Leah was about to say when I walked out of the building in a hurry and straight to the toilet. I got to the toilet, entered one of the empty spaces and locked myself in and just immediately my tears escaped freely without any restriction.
My heart hurts in so many ways and I had no idea what was hurting, was it the mysterious lady who came by the office today, Or the way he ignored me and shouted at me, I asked myself these questions as tears rolled off profusely.
“Tess, are you fine? Is everything alright?” Leah asked.
I wiped my voice. “Yes, I am..fine.” I replied with my voice cracked and shaking.
“Are you sure? Is everything ok?” She asked, having an etch of concern sounding in her voice.
“Sure, I am fine…just taking time away from…work a little bit, I will be back.” I responded.
She sighed.”Okay, take your time okay? If you need any help, I am always available.” She said,
I nodded while whimpering silently. “Yeah, yeah…you bet.” I said, sounding cool.
“Bye.” She said and I waited till I heard the door knob creaked. When she had left, I let out a sigh then thought of calling Ana but I saw I wasn't with my phone.
“Why would I leave my phone in times like this.” I grumbled out loud, breathe in and out before walking out of toilet back to the office building.
“You're back.” Leah asked as soon as she saw entering the office.
I just nodded briefly. “Mhm.” I walked down to my space to pick up my phone but as I was about to leave the office the Intercom rang, I ignored it at first but it rang again, just as I was about leaving the door opened, Damien came out holding the Intercom in his hands.
“Were you about to ignore your call to duty?” He questioned and all eyes became fixed on me.
I stood still and didn't respond to him.
“Follow me now.” He ordered, even with the anger I was feeling, I was still very vulnerable to his command, I felt my body moving on its own and I followed him without thinking twice.
I closed the door behind me as soon as I entered. “You called me sir.” I said, strictly professional.
“Tess, we nee–” I didn't allow him to finish.
“Sir, is this work relating?” I asked.
He rubbed his forehead, looking so tired and frustrated. “Don't be like that, I just need to talk to you.” He said.
“Okay sir, do I need my pen and paper?” I asked.
“Stop it Tess, and just give me a chance to have a proper conversation with my woman.” He said.
I scoffed before I began to laugh. “Woman? Your woman? That's a funny thing to say if you ask me.” I said still sounding very polite.
“What is funny in all I just said?” He asked.
“You calling me your woman is very funny, I guess I wasn't your woman when you shouted at me right? Or when you were talking to some other woman.” I said and just as I expected he flared up.
“I told you to drop that and not talk about it, why can't you understand? What is so hard to–” he was about to say and I interrupted him immediately.
“That's enough Damien, scratch it already, I have heard all you have to say, can I leave now?” I asked.
He stood there without saying another word, when I saw he wasn't talking, I decided to leave and as I was about to leave, he held my hand, stopping me from taking another step forward. “Babe, please let's talk about this.”
I looked at him. “I don't have anything to say to you.” I said.
“But I ha–” he was about to say when his door opened and the same lady that I saw a few hours ago entered without knocking and immediately he let go of my hand. “I should see you later to complete the project we have going on okay?” He said.
I was not only shocked but dumbfounded, I had no idea what to say, I was surprised at the switch in tone and attitude. “Ok..ay.. sir.” I replied stuttering.
“You may leave, clear my schedule for the rest of the day.” He said.
“Alright sir.” I replied and turned to leave.
Who is she?” She asked, I stopped and waited for his response and I was really eager to hear his answer.
He took a deep breath before saying anything. “She is ummm….my mmm… personal assistant.” He stuttered.
My heart broke in pieces and it became heavy to breath. I looked at him hoping he could say something after but nothing came afterwards. “I will get going…now sir.” I said, all of a sudden everything became so blurry and I felt dizzy as I walked out of the office.
“Baby, what would you like to have tonight? Dad wants to meet with you tonight, make sure you come over okay?” She said, I could hear her giggle and the word baby echoed loudly in my head and when I saw everything was blurry, I began to stagger till I got to my space.
“You good?” Leah asked.
I was about to nod my head when it almost went black and I fell off from my chair.
Leah rushed down to me, calling out my name and I could hear her but her voice was fading and I couldn't see anything afterwards. “Tessy? Tess!! Get me the medics immediately.” She yelled.
Later that day.
I opened my eyes but shut it immediately as soon as the bright light ray shone at me, my head was spinning really bad, it felt like an heavyweight was placed on my head and I couldn't see anything further so I just shut them and not open them until I heard a familiar voice.
“Tessy, Tessy?” Ana called my name and she drew nearer to me and I slowly opened my eyes to see her, having a worried face on her.
“Did anyone die? Why do you look so sad?” I said jokingly.
“Shut up, I was just worried about you.” She said,
I raised an eyebrow. “That's new, what is the occasion? Am I about to die? That's so unlike you to be worried about me.” I said.
She laughed with tears in her eyes. “fuck you bitch.”
