Victoria’s POV
I spent time with dad. I didn’t tell him the arrangements I have with Kelvin, he can’t know about it, the only reason I told him about Kelvin it’s because we are public, I know he will find out one way or the other and it would be better if he found out from me.
I don’t want him staying in the hospital again, once the treatment is over and I get my paycheck I will use to get rent an apartment for him. I say my goodbyes to dad and I left.
Arriving at the office, Kelvin was not in sight, his nice secretary Linda informed me that he had a meeting, I never knew of that meeting. I checked his schedule one more time. There is no meeting, he lied to her.
Why do you care, my subconscious asks.
I don’t, I am just curious. I wanted to know why Kelvin would lie to his secretary he has a meeting when clearly he doesn’t.
Ignoring the thousand of questions I had, I walked into the the department, it was two floors after mine, I had to meet the head of the department to get it signed, a wore a fake smile ignoring all the stares.
I’m screwing their boss, can they make it less obvious, it is getting annoying. I wish they could just pretend I didn’t exist which I know it’s next to impossible, they won’t do that after all I’m his first girlfriend after some many years. They don’t have to know it’s just an arrangement between us.
I laid a knock on the door before I walked in, I was expecting it to be a woman but it was a man, my mistake with the name.
“Victoria, I have heard a lot about you.” He smiles.
There is something about him that I didn’t like, the way he looked at me, the way his eyes remained fixated on my clothed boobs I hated the way he maintained his stares on me, I instantly clear my throat to gain avert his attention which worked.
He looked down at the papers before he signed it. I was about taking it when he held my hand.
“What are you doing?.”
“Just seeing what made boss like you, I promise I can offer better.” He smirks. A rush of disgust run down my vines.
“Let go of me.”
“I can’t do that.” I tried removing my hand, it’s going to cause a bruise on my skin, he pulled me closer to him, his hands wrapped around my waist, he tries to kiss me on the lips but I didn’t allow him; that made him only angrier.
“I know you want this whore, I can offer you money.” He smirks, he laid a kiss on my neck when I push him away, it took all the strength I have to push him away, I didn’t even bother taking the document before walking out.
“She is such a whore.” I hear a whisper from behind.
“I’m sure she slept her way to get this job.”
“She can’t be his girlfriend, probably just a sex buddy.”
Tears threatening to spill out of my eyes, I push back my tears but the whispers that filled the room caused the tears roll down my cheek. I quickly run into the elevator and went back upstairs.
“Mr. Ricci wants to see you.” Linda says and I nod, she must have noticed the tears because she tried to ask me what happened, I wipe mu tears before walking into his office.
“Yes.” His eyes were fixated on the papers scattered on his table.
“Thomas informed me you have a file for me.”
Thomas? Who is Thomas?
“Who is Thomas?.” I asked.
“Fucking hell,” he yelled, I was taken aback by his voice.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered.
When he looked up and he saw my teary eyes, he stopped everything he is doing and walked toward me.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it yell. It’s just everyone is annoying me.”
“I’m sorry.” I whisper.
I wasn’t crying because he yelled. I was crying because of what happened earlier, I am hurt by what everyone think about me and to almost think a man almost molested me, it’s a permanent image in my head, I can’t forgive him for what he did to me.
“What is wrong? Please tell me what is wrong Victoria. I know you are not crying because I yelled at you.”
“Everyone thinks I got this job because I slept with you, I know I’m not supposed to care but it hurts walking down the hall and having everyone stare at me like I’m some slut, whispering and gossiping behind my back.”
“Can you remember who started it?.” He asks and I shake my head indicating a no. I didn’t even look back even if I did I won’t even remember how they looked like given the fact I was shaken up after I walked out of his office.
He takes my hand leading me to the couch, where I sit next to him.
“What happened to your hand?.” He asks.
I look down to notice the visible bruise on my hand.
“It’s not- tell me.” He demanded.
“The head of finance department. Mr. Rose.”
“He did this to you.” He asks and I nod.
“Tell me what happened?.”
“I-I went upstairs to get the papers signed but he tried to touch me, he said he could pay me.”
“Where did he touch you?.” He asks.
“What are you going to do?.”
“It doesn’t matter, tell me please.” I looked into his eyes, he wanted to know so I told him, I told him everything that happened earlier today and how everyone stares at me whenever I walk into a room.
“No one will trouble you again, I promise.”
“Thank you.” I whisper.
“How about we go home? I’m tired and I don’t want you staying here any longer.” he says and i nod. i couldnt agree more
