Rain's POV.

"You asked to see us," One of the hefty men shoves towards us, burning his eyes on Logan. The gun he wields dangles by his side.

"Yes, Simon, right?" Logan asks, outstretching his hand for a handshake. As the man nods, he shakes Logan's hand too. "Good to see you all are here..."

With that Logan begins his tirade, letting the soldiers know what we truly are. In the end, the men agreed to be our allies in the war but only on one condition which was the splitting of Oakdale between werewolves and humans.

The request was a little difficult to accept but at last, Logan agreed.

"Before we begin, I'd need you to help me steal something from someone..."

My heart leaps with joy at that request, and surprisingly the soldiers agree and Logan tells them about Ivy and her place of refuge in Oakdale.

According to Logan, she rented out an apartment using the name of one of her bodyguards. Once the men take the address, they exit the pack house, awaiting Logan's order on when to steal the flash from Ivy.

By the time everything is settled, Logan and I lounge in front of the pack house. I was the first to come around the fountain, basking in the serene sound of the waters before Logan joined me.

"Hey," He coos, circling my waist with his hands.

"Ain't you going to go back to your girlfriend yet?" I tease him, laughing when he grumbles at the back of his throat.

"Goddess, I hated that act today," he swears, his hands on me tightening.

"Same with me. But that's the only way out..."

"It still sucks, baby. I hate being controlled,"

Oh, my heart twitches at his words and I turn to face him, cocking a brow as I rest my chin on his chest. "You hate being controlled or you hate being controlled by her?"

Logan manages to smile at my words and I can't tell you how good it is to see him offer a genuine smile again. Since the mess we've been facing, neither of us has ever smiled a genuine smile.

I hold onto this one, stashing it in my heart. The heaviness I feel returns in my heart, making me question what the outcome will be.

The nagging voice in my mind that heralds this war not ending well forces me to make the memories I can now.

Hence, I take Logan's hand and guide him to the garden. The fresh scent of flowers attacks our noses as we sink into the meadow.

"Why are we here?" He asks, looking down at me.

"When I was a child, I longed to know how it feels to stare-gaze with my boyfriend. Then I had Kiran but..." I tsk. "He seemed too busy to do that with me. He called it...trivial. So we never did it,"

Logan chuckles, alternating a look between me and the dark sky. "Are you seriously telling me you want to stargaze with me?"

I beam, my gleaming eyes reflecting on his. "Yes Logan, watch the galaxy with me. Just for tonight..."

Just for tonight. Maybe after tonight the opportunity wouldn't come again. This is another memory I need to make and keep with him.

Logan grunts and takes a seat beside me. "You're wrong, my Luna," He says, slinging his arm around my neck. I peer up at him, my heart singing. "Tonight won't be the only night we'll stargaze. We'll stargaze more in the future, I promise you,"

Logan tries to hide the flicker of doubt in his voice but I noticed It. He's not also certain about our victory just as I am.

However, I bob my head in a nod, murmuring, "Yes. We will." I thread our fingers together as we both look up at the night sky. The galaxy gleaming, its beauty a pure delight.

A stint of silence passes between us before Logan asks, "How many pups do you wish for us to have, baby?"

I still, pondering his question. I've never actually thought about that.

Smiling as I run my fingers over his kneecap while watching the shooting stars. "A girl pup,"

"Only?" Startled, Logan gasps down at me. I chuckle at the wide look on his face.

"Yes. How many do you want?"

"Oh, five. I want to have as many pups with you as I can, Rain. I want every inch of our house to bear a symbol of our love for each other,"

"Logan! Five!? That's too much,"

"No. It's not. As long as they're our replica,"

He cradles my head against his chest after that as we look back at the sky. The silence is companionable and comes with a chaser of relief from the fear boggling me down.

"I heard humans make wishes under the shooting stars," Logan's voice is the first to break the silence. I crane my neck up at him and hum,

"Yes, they do."

Then he gives me a small, knowing grin. "Then let's make a wish, my luna."

He shoots to his feet, holding out his hand for me. I swallow thickly before clasping my hand with his. Slowly, Logan pulls me up.

"Make a wish," He urges.

There, my heart clogs. I fight to breathe. The tears begin to gather but I do my best to rein in it. Eyes on the sky, I let out. "I wish that victory will be ours, Logan. I wish to still find myself in your arms after the war,"

With that, the tears cascade down my cheeks. Logan sniffles, holding back his emotions. He leans into me and begins kissing the tears away until he gets to my lips. Gently, he takes my mouth in his, sucking my lips low and softly. Sensually.

I cry more. The fear overpowering me.

When he stops the kiss, he holds my cheeks with both hands, his forehead pressed against mine, "My wish is your wish, my luna. I want after the war, we'll still be together to make pups. To make memories that'll last till eternity."

Those words crush my heart and as it sinks, I kiss Logan again. This time harder and hungrily. I feel like merging myself with him. To weave us as one.

I do not want to be separated from him. The war hasn't begun but I already feel the impending gap. The impending doom that'll befall us.

Still in the mood to make more memories, I pull backward and begin to shred off my dress. Logan stands speechless until I stand bare before him. With the warmest voice I can garner, I plead.

"Make love to me, Logan. Just this once."

He hesitates before taking me up on the offer. Logan bounds into me, eyes warm as he bears me down on the grass, finding his way inside me.

Under the glare of the stars and the glimmer of the moon, Logan and I make love. I moan at every thrust, every touch until we come undone.

One last time. One last touch, I tell myself as I save the memory in my mind.

While we ride out the aftershocks, I ask. "What about your father? Have you found out how we can help him out?"

He sighs, chest quaking. Logan runs his hand through my hair lounging on his chest.

"Yes. It's not a foolproof idea yet until I meet the witch, Aphrodite."

"Oh..." I exclaim, shocked.

"Yes, Rain. Only the witches can help us out now. I do hope they'll agree."

I reel at his words while I draw circles on his chest with my fingers. "So, how do you plan on convincing her?"

"I'll embark on a journey to Chicago at dawn. I need to strike a deal with the witches as soon as possible..."

I swallow thickly at that.

What if I don't get to see him again now that he's leaving? I wonder, feeling tears sting my eyes.

Something grave is about to happen. I just don't know what but I can feel beneath my skin.

TBC.
