Full moon

Beta Theo paced around the pack’s doctor office, in clear frustration, as lots of thoughts ran through his head.
“You should calm down Beta Theo, getting worked up won’t bring about a solution.” The pack doctor said, thinking of the best way to pacify the Beta.
“Full moon is in the next two days, her wolf would surely come forth and she might get discovered. What if she grows blood lust or rogue?” Beta Theo ran his jabs through his hair in a frustrating manner.
“How about we lock her in, a day prior, so she doesn’t get to come out?” Beta Theo stopped pacing and stood before his table, as he suggested, looking a bit hopeful.
“Really?” The pack doctor, quirked his brow at him.
“It’s just a suggestion.” Beta Theo threw his hands down in a frustrated manner.
“Locking her up would only worsen the situation and agitate her wolf more, giving her the leverage to actually attack, if that wasn’t the initial plan.” The doctor stroked his jaw in thoughts. “I feel due to the fact her wolf was locked in for a long time, it had been underfed, so coming forth, she decided to use the opportunity to feed to her fill.” The doctor brought about a possible explanation.
“So what do you think we do?” Beta Theo asked.
“I could sedate her with enough dose that can make her sleep through the whole period, but there would be an adverse reaction.” The pack doctor said, getting to his feet.
“What’s that?” Beta Theo asked, anxious to get a solution.
“She might loose her wolf.” The doctor deadpanned. “For life.” He added.
“Damn, that’s no good. It’s a no for me.” Beta Theo said.
“Maybe we should just take the risk. And hope things don’t get messy.” The doctor shrugged.
“For some reason, I believe nothing terrible will happen. Let’s only hope she doesn’t get recognized. You were extremely sure no one saw her shift?” The doctor asked.
“Well, no one asides the alpha triplets. And they’ve been trying to help salvage the situation too. I’ve never been more grateful.” He said.
“You’re sure they’ll not try to snitch to the alpha?” The doctor asked, to confirm.
“I doubt. Cause at this point, they’ll be in trouble too, as they are now fully involved too. Beta Theo said.
“Then we should hope on the moon goddess to come through for her.” The doctor sighed.
“Thank you so much doc. I owe you one.” Beta Theo appreciated. “I should be on my way. The alpha might need me.”
“Hold on.” The doctor stopped him, as he made his way to the cabinet and brought out a little container.
“Here.” He handed it over to the Beta.
“It’ll help suppress her strength. It contains a little of wolfsbane. Enough to do the work, too little to cause an actual damage. It’s been banned for a while, so you have to be extremely careful with it. Slip it in her food.” The doctor instructed.
“Thank you so much.” Beta Theo got the container and placed it in his inner pocket, and made his way to the alpha’s chambers.
“Still no clue of who the killer may be?” Alpha Louis asked, as he felt the presence of his beta in his chambers.
“None alpha. But from what we could gather, we believe that there’s a possibility that it might be a rogue, who had his way into our lands.” Beta Theo said, trying to pull the alphas suspicion from within.
“Are you kidding me?” Alpha Louis laughed out. “You of all should know how tight the security at the borders are. No rogue can pass in undetected.” The alpha said.
“Is there something I should know, Beta?” Alpha Louis turned to him, eyeing him suspiciously. “Have you suddenly become incompetent?” Alpha Louis asked, staring intently at him.
Beta Theo let out the breathe, he hadn’t realized he was holding in.
“Its nothing of such alpha. We’ve searched nook and cranny for a clue, but nothing.” Beta Theo said.
“How about the strand of fur that was gotten from the scene? Has it been identified whose it is?” Alpha Louis asked.
“It doesn’t match with anyone in the pack. But strangely enough, we traced the gene and it matched with that of one of the dead wolves. Which is strange, cause this wolf has been dead long before the killing happened.” Beta Theo said.
“So what you’re saying is, there might be a lingering threat in pack, but no one knows who it is, so we can all as well live in fear, and always look over our shoulders?” Alpha Louis asked.
“No alpha,” Beta Theo said head bow.
“Then get me the killer!” Alpha Louis flared, making Beta Theo flinch a bit.
“Yes alpha.”
“Or you give me your word that there is no threat lurking around, and if there is, your head will go in for it.” Alpha Louis said, leaning back on his throne chair, he had been all through the conversation.
“You have my word alpha. My head will go in for it, if the killer gets to attack again.” Beta Theo bowed, widening his eyes in shock, as the container fell off from his jacket, as he bent.
“What’s that?” Alpha Louis asked, eyeing him suspiciously, as he quickly picked it up and placed it back in his jacket pocket.
“It’s nothing Alpha.” Beta Theo could feel his heart beating out his chest.
“Are you lying to me Beta? You know I can literally hear your heart beats from here?” The alpha said, looking at the tensed Beta.
“It’s my medication.” Beta Theo said, trying to appear unfazed.
“For what exactly?” The alpha asked.
“Celibacy!” Beta Theo exclaimed out, without thinking through.
“Celibacy?” The alpha quirked his brow as an amused smile played on his lips.
“It’s to weaken my sperm production, so I can get more strengthen.” Beta Theo looked away embarrassed, wondering how of all things, that’s what he could come up with.
“I’ll like to try it.”
“No!” Beta Theo blurted out before he could realize what he did.
“I mean, it’s not necessary to kill your libido, since you still have the Luna by your side. It won’t be ideal to deny her of, uhm.” He cleared his throat. “you know.”
“You act extremely naive for a wolf who has a child.” The alpha roared back in laughter.
“Speaking of which, how is your daughter?” The alpha asked.
“She’s doing well alpha.” Beta Theo said.
“Let’s hope she get to see her wolf this full moon.” The alpha said.
“I hope so too.”
“You can go. But ensure you keep me updated.” The alpha dismissed him.
Beta Theo bowed his head and hurriedly left the alpha’s chambers to his.
He walked to Hazel’s door, raising his hand to knock, but decided against it, as he heard a second voice which sounded like one of the young alpha’s, Clare.
His visits had become more frequent and he sleeps over sometimes, taking care of Hazel, since after the incident.
He placed his ear on the door to eavesdrop on their conversation instead.
“What color do you think my wolf would be?” He heard Hazel’s excited voice from the other side of the door.
“Uhm, pink?” Clare suggested.
“Ewwww, no! Who ever has a pink wolf?!” Hazel exclaimed, making Clare chuckle.
“You could be the first.” He laughed out.
“Not funny. I’m not even that girly. I hate pink.” She said.
“Okay, okay, blue? Clare said.
“Why are you suggesting colors which doesn’t exist?” Hazel asked, sounding irritated.
“Okay, okay. Grey?” He suggested.
“Uhm, seems good enough, but I don’t think I’ll like that.” Hazel said.
“Which do you feel would suit you?” He asked.
“Brown.” She said after a short pause.
“Why do you think so?” He asked.
“Uhm maybe cause it seems to match with my eye color in a way.” She said.
“That’s beautiful.” He said and they fell in comfortable silence.
“I feel so anxious about the full moon, maybe cause I have this weird feeling that I might actually get to shift. It feels really scary, but fun at the same time.” Hazel huffed out.
“You’ll be fine. I think you’ll make a really beautiful wolf and a powerful one too, one which suits your personality.” Clare said.
“I can’t wait.” Hazel gushed out. “I hope my wolf is really huge and really fluffy and pretty too.” Hazel said excited.
“It might just turn out to be exactly that. Maybe you’ve met her before, that’s why you can’t wait to meet her again.” Clare said.
Beta Theo feeling like he had heard enough, heaved out and moved away from her door. He stared at the container in his hand for a while before moving to the sink at the kitchen.
He pulled it open and poured out the whole content into the washing bowl, turning on the tap to run down the content.
He couldn’t bring himself to restrict his daughter’s wolf in anyway.
He wanted her to soar free and dangerous as she was built to be.
He wasn’t going to do anything to stop that. Whatever would happen afterwards, he was ready to bare the consequences. It was the least he could do for his pup.

Hazel watched how the members of the pack screeched in pains as their bones crouched in, reshaping, as they were shifting to their wolves under the bright and full moon right above them.
Once fully shifted, they ran off into the woods, howling as they ran off to the mountains.
Fay was amongst the last few who shifted, as they were the lowest in rank. She noticed the pitiable look Fay’s wolf threw at her side before running off.
She huffed and sat dejectedly at the entrance, just like the last year and the year after the last and the list went on.
She decided that she wasn’t going to let herself cry this year and she’ll accept the fact that she was just a mere human after all.
Hazel stood to her feet, about returning back inside the mansion when she suddenly felt a sharp pain on her limb. She shook her head, thinking it was just a minor muscle pull when the pain came on the other limb, more excoriating than the last, bringing her to her knees as she screamed out in pain.
The pains became more severe as she felt her bones crack and reshape itself.
She felt like she’d loose consciousness as she saw stars, while the reshaping continued.
She felt her face squeeze really tight, as canines pulled out from her gums, and fur began sprouting out her face.
She screamed out to the skies as her claws elongated out and her whole body fully shifted into that of her wolf. And like it never happened, the pains were all gone.
She felt something disturbing at the back of her throat, she raised her snut to the air and howled out to her surprise.
She couldn’t believe that she was finally in her wolf form. She did an internal dance, seeing she had actually shifted.
“Excited much?” Her wolf asked through their mind link.
“Took you long enough.” Hazel responded.
“It’s nice to be free again.” Her wolf said. “Let’s go.” Her wolf took off into the woods.
Hazel felt so ecstatic and free as the wild air wift pass through her furs. She felt like she was soaring in the sky.
She howled out in excitement as she caught up with most of the wolves, which howled back.
She kept running till she got to where the high tier wolves where. She howled at her fathers wolf, who howled back and she kept moving, going past the alpha also.
She reached the three wolves she knew belonged to the triplets, running by their side as they howled in recognition.
She ran past them, as non could catch up with her. She got to the top of the mountain before anyone else and stood on the peak, howling to the sky, as the moon shoned brightly behind her, making her look ethereal to other wolves below, including the alpha.
