I had put so much effort into this project, and I didn't want to see it fail. But I remained calm, determined to address his concerns.
"I understand your concerns," I said.
"But I believe that we can address them with some adjustments to the system." I went on to explain my proposed solutions, and the CEO seemed to be considering them seriously.
"You've given me a lot to think about," he said, his tone thoughtful.
"I'll need some time to consider all of this.”
He was still considering my proposal, but I could see that he was intrigued by the possibilities. I decided to press my advantage, and I continued to explain the benefits of the system.
"Not only will this system give you better information," I said,
"but it will also save you time and money. By automating many of the tasks that are currently done manually, you'll be able to streamline your operations and improve your bottom line." The CEO nodded, his expression thoughtful.
"I see the potential," he said, "but like I said I still have some concerns.”
"I understand your concerns," I said, "and I'm happy to address them.”
“ But first, I'd like to ask you a question. What is the biggest challenge your company is facing right now?" The CEO didn't hesitate.
"Costs," he said.
"Everything is getting more expensive, from fuel to labor. We're under pressure to cut costs, but we don't want to sacrifice quality or service." I nodded, understanding the dilemma he was facing. "And that's exactly where this system can help," I said.
"It can help you reduce costs while still maintaining quality and service.”
The CEO's interest was piqued, and he leaned forward in his chair.
"How?" he asked.
"The first step is to map out your existing processes and identify areas where the system can make a difference," I said. "Then we'll work with you to customize the system to meet your specific needs.
We can either host the system for you, or we can install it on your servers. We'll also provide training and support to ensure that your team is comfortable using the system." The CEO was listening intently, and I could tell that he was impressed by the thoughtfulness of my response.
"I like what I'm hearing," he said. "But what about the cost?”
"This could make a difference," the CEO said, his eyes brightening. "But I still have some questions about the implementation." I was ready for this, and I had my answers prepared.
This was the moment of truth, and I knew that my answer would be critical.
"The cost will vary depending on the specific features and functionality that you need," I said.
"But we're confident that the system will pay for itself in terms of cost savings. We can even offer a performance-based pricing model, so you only pay for the value that you receive.
This is what Anchor Freight Shipping Company can do for you. " The CEO was interested in this idea, and he asked for more details. I provided them, and he seemed convinced that the system was worth the investment.
"What is it?" I asked, eager to answer any remaining concerns.
"What makes you different from the other companies offering similar products?" the CEO asked.
"Why should we choose you over the competition?" I took a deep breath, ready to make my case. "We believe that we offer a unique combination of technology, expertise, and customer service," I said.
"We're not just a shipping company - we're a partner who's committed to helping you succeed. And we're willing to put our money where our mouth is, with our performance-based pricing model.”
As I finished my explanation, the room erupted in applause. The CEO stood up and shook my hand, a smile on his face. "Thank you for your time," he said. "You've given me a lot to think about. I'll be in touch soon."
“Thank you, sir,” I wrapped my hand around Anita hugging her.
We both left the meeting feeling confident and optimistic, knowing that I had made a strong case for our company. It was clear that the CEO was seriously considering our solution, and I was hopeful that we would soon be working together.
The door opened, Auden walked up to me, and Anita tapped me, motioning me to look back, I turned to see Auden,
“You were great there. I never expected to see you like this.”
I smiled, “ life is full of surprises, you know.” I said, calmly.
“Wish you good luck on your presentation,” I said, he nodded and then walked back in.
“That's our opponent, must you wish him good luck? You couldn't jinx our success.” Anita squealed, I turned to her,
“Really now. The universe is on our side, Anita.” I said, turning to leave. Today was one hell of a day, I had to rest.
….
The days and weeks that followed were a whirlwind of activity. I followed up with the CEO, and we worked together to fine-tune our proposal.
Finally, we got the news we had been waiting for: the shipping company had decided to work with us. I was thrilled,
My eyes went down to the mail, as I saw
“In partnership with Anderson Enterprise”.
The excitement of the wind began to fade, I was faced with a new challenge: I would be working with Auden on this project. We had a complicated history, and I knew that this could be a difficult situation.
I picked up my phone to call the company, this was not working,
I can't work with him at all,
The line was directed to the secretary, I requested the phone be given to the CEO. After much trouble, she finally accepted, the call was connected,
“Hello,”
“Hello?” His voice hit me, the voice was very familiar and I could place the voice whenever I heard it,
“Arthur?” I questioned,
“Hello, Charlotte. Seems the universe is with us again.” my jaw dropped in shock,
“What the hell?”
