Chapter 44 Not a villain

Chapter 44 Not a villain
Uriel's POV

"I don't think you should do this, Uri." Lance frowned slightly.

We bonded over the whole 'virgin' drama.

He reminded me why being a nerd was the safest option and I agreed.

"You don't like him. Come on, this is the best bet. He needs to have a taste of his own medicine." I explained.

"We'd be around. We'd be waiting for you." Kathie encouraged.

"We promise." Chloe pouted.

She had felt like a terrible friend for leaving me at the party and for not checking up on me afterwards.

"Thank you guys."

Kathie, Lance and Chloe watched me closely, their emotions clearly plastered on their faces.

My steps grew slower as I approached the group of boys. Their boisterous laughters sent cold shivers down my spine. My stomach knotted, the nausea threatening to surge.

"H..hey," my voice was lower than expected. My hand tightened around the strap of my bag.

I felt an eye stab into me from the extreme end of the hallway. My eyes moved through the crowd, spotting him out - Ryder.

His lips were pressed into a thin line, his jaw defined and straight. My eyes dropped down, taking all of him in, in one long breathe.

Suddenly, I felt my pulse relax in a slow rhythmic beat.

You can't stop me, Ryder.

Clearing my throat, I narrowed my eyes at Chase. The boys stopped talking, turning to look at me with the same judging look they've had for weeks now.

"Heyyy, ex." Chase mocked...

Himself.

He was only mocking himself.

The first thing I had planned in my head was to punch his throat but now, I needed him more than ever.

"I'm not you ex," I cleared that first, my face scrunched up in disgust.

The boys snickered, whispering between themselves while their eyes roamed up my body. My skin itched with every stare.

"Can we... Can we talk privately?" I asked quickly, a bit impatient.

My eyes subconsciously went to that spot where he stood. My chest loosened when I found him still standing there.

You wait, Ryder.

You'll see.

"She said she wants to talk to me privately," Chase cooed, earning back pats and hailing from his teammates.

Rolling my eyes, I turned away. I didn't need to turn back to know he was following me. I could feel his looming figure behind my back.

A shuddered breath left my lips once I closed the door behind us, locking us away from the outside world.

My heartbeat picked up it's pace, hammering hard in my chest. I held my phone tight on one hand, almost snapping it into two.

"Make it snappy. Are you sucking my cock for a negotiation or picking a date for me to help you wipe off those thick webs down there." His throat bobbed up and down as he spewed out the trash from his mouth.

I should've stabbed him there instead.

"Why?"

He raised his eyebrow at me, looking me from up to down. "Why what?"

My eyes locked onto his, darker than usual. "Why would you do that to me? Why did you try to molest me, Chase?" My voice broke, the weight of the words pressing down on my tongue.

He scoffed, a small smirk on his lips. In a swift second, he snatched my phone. My eyes snapped open, a loud gasp escaping my lips.

Shit.

This was bad.

"You must think I'm foolish, Uriel. I actually didn't expect you to be this dumb." He turned the recording app to my face. "You want to use my words against me?" He sucked his teeth, shaking his head. "Too bad."

He slipped the phone in his pocket after deleting the record.

He took a step forward, forcing me to take a shaky step backward. My eyes were wide with alert, my chest heaving up and down.

"You can't expose me, Uriel." He started. "But I think I owe you an explanation." He placed his hand on my shoulder, making me flinch.

"I never liked you. You were too plain for my liking." He rubbed my shoulder, earning a glare from me. "But... he was interested in you and I was interested in ruining everything good for him."

He held my chin firmly, staring into my eyes. "So, I bought the idea from a very good friend of mine. Why not get close to Uriel and fuck that virgin cunt before he does." He chuckled darkly, sending burning shivers down my spine.

I tried to get his hand away from my chin but his grip only grew stronger, making me wince.

"Look at me." He growled darkly. Then he smiled again, "but you were just as interested as he was and that was fucking annoying."

"You're disgusting!" I spat out.

"You want admission, don't you?" He snorted, glaring directly into my eyes. "No one's going to believe that I didn't fuck you. No one's going to believe that I tried to but failed."

"You tried to molest me. That was attempted rape!" I cried out.

"You can call it that or whatever but the truth is, no one's going to believe you." He roughly let my face go. "And I'm going to warn you, Uriel."

He stepped closer, leaning down to my ears. "Stay out of my way."

He placed a hand on my shoulder again, standing up straight, "Accept whatever is happening to you because you called for it. You didn't think you'd stab me and get away, did you?"

He placed his hand on my head, patting softly. "Just be a good girl and you won't actually turn those lies I tell, to be true."

He opened the door and walked out, yelling, "thanks for the blow job, Uri!"

My knees grew weak, falling to the ground. My eyes watered, my nose stuffing up almost immediately.

Hold in, Uriel.

How was that even possible to do?

The creaking sound of the door made me jump up, looking around the desk as if I lost something.

When the familiar cologne hit my nostrils, my body relaxed. I turned to face him, almost missing the concerned emotion that flickered in his eyes before the cold ones.

"Ryder."

His jaw ticked, his eyes carefully assessing me. "I forgot something. I'll just pick it up and leave." He said coldly, walking past me.

His body covered the desk so I couldn't spot out what he was taking.

If he actually forgot something though.

"Working with my enemy now?" He spoke, stuffing his hand in his pocket.

I opened my mouth, about to say 'no' but settled for, "scared already?"

He scoffed. He glanced at me, his eyes dull and empty. "Don't hurt yourself trying to hurt me."

He placed his hand on my shoulder, peeling it off immediately but yet something warm lingered.

With my eyes on him, watching his retreating figure, I placed my on my shoulder.

My hand squeezed it lightly - the soft fur pressing into my palm. A small smile broke out of my lips and then a soft laugh followed.

I didn't even know what was funny.

But as I held the handkerchief close to my chest, I realized one thing -

Ryder was not the villain in my story.
