Chapter 18 Do Your Worse
Uriel's POV
"I am highly disappointed at you!"
Here we go again.
I stood, bowing my head to the ground.
"You make me sick, in fact." My mother yelled. "Sending naked pictures to boys? That's what you've degraded yourself into?"
"After all I have done for you? I have provided you with everything. Shelter, food and a good life. Yet, you still decided to sell yourself off to boys? Small boys?" She spat, every word dripping with anger.
I shut my eyes, swallowing hard
I was mentally tired of all these.
Raising my head up, I glared at me. "I didn't sell myself up. I am being set up. I am the victim."
"Oh shut up. You can lie all you want but whoring around just runs in the vein." She scoffed, eyeing me in disgust. "I'm glad I don't invest much in you."
"Yet you provided everything for me." I couldn't help but say
"What... What did you say?" She stepped closer, her eyes red with anger
I took a step back, only to stand my ground.
"You have never considered me as a daughter, have you? You're so quick to believe whatever is being said about me. Why, mother?" My voice broke, no matter how hard I tried to make it sound firm.
"Because I knew you'd turn out to no good use. Now, look at it!" She opened her arms wide. "You're showing off your private parts."
"I wasn't naked!"
"In that picture. Who knows of the other ones you've secretly sent?" She scoffed, turning away.
She stopped and turned back to me, looking into my eyes.
"You're lucky you're not expelled. You're very lucky it's just suspension." She pointed at my face. "And from today hence forth, your father and I will have nothing to do with your education. Both College or whatever. That's your punishment."
My mouth parted, my eyes falling open. "You can't do that!"
"Oh I can do anything. Since you've decided to be very stubborn." She sneered.
I shook my head, eyeing her up and down. So many times I had wondered how I got so unlucky with having she and my sister as family.
It only ended there.
It was my reality and I had to face it.
"I'm not even surprised. You've wanted to cut me off so bad." My voice rose, my heart slamming hard against my chest.
"Whatever." She rolled her eyes. "Just know from today, you start fending for yourself. You will not touch a food in this house. You should be grateful you still have shelter."
"I am a child! I deserve all those things." I cried, the tears dropping down my cheek. "I deserve to be looked after, just like you do to Emma!"
"You can never be like Emma." She spat, frowning deeply.
I shook my head, taking a step back. Her words ripped through my chest.
"Since you might likely not go to a college because I doubt you can pull that off, you owe all your time to Emma. You'll do her assignments and also do her laundries and chores so she can have time for herself." She took a step forward, ignoring how she harsh her words were slicing through me. "Understood?"
"Why are you doing this to me, mother?" I held her shoulder, my eyes red. "I am your child too. I am -"
"Get your filthy hands off me, you twat!" She shoved my hands away roughly, rubbing her skin harshly.
My shoulders shook uncontrollably as I watched her treat me like filth.
"And let me just tell you." She walked close to me, her eyes hard. "You owe me a percentage in whatever you earn. At least, I need compensation for all my wasted effort on such trash like you."
"Mother!" My voice barely came out as a whisper. "You're hurting me."
"The next time you get into trouble in school, I'll withdraw you. Try me." She looked me up and down in a disgusted manner. Then she poked my forehead, "Stupid girl."
"What's the commotion?" My father rolled out of his room, looking between my mother and I. "Why are you crying, Riel? What did your mother do again?"
"Your stupid daughter has ventured into cyber prostitution. Oh and she sells it to cheap boys in her school." My mother hissed, walking away.
Before my father could say anything to me, I ran past him, up the stairs. My blood boiled with rage.
I had to address this shit once and for all.
Not bothering to knock like I always did, I barged into Emma's room.
"Are you stupid?" Emma shot at me, quickly shutting her laptop, adjusting her robe properly.
I eyed her, looking between the laptop and her disheveled self.
Something was definitely fishy but that wasn't what I was there for.
"You!" I pushed her chest, walking closer. "How could you do this to me?"
She frowned, "what are you accusing me of?"
"First, you post that audio. You told me you'd delete it! Now, you snoop through my phone while i was grounded, texting Dennis? Why!" I screamed at her face. "What have I ever done to you?"
She huffed, folding her arms.
"Tell me!"
"Oh please. Don't you like the attention? You're now popular in school. You even got suspended... So badass, isn't it?" She smirked
"How's that badass?"
She scoffed, walking around me slowly. "You had a very good slate in school. Too innocent for my liking."
"That's unfair." I cried
"Nothing is fair! I am supposed to be the only good person." She stopped, yelling in my face.
"You are to mother. But that's just it." I sneered, wanting to spike her. "One day, she'll see it too."
"You wish. I'll always be the good girl to her and eventually, to dad. Then to the school. I'll be the good Kennedy twin." She chuckled darkly. "Everybody would start avoiding you. They'll come for me."
She tried to pat my hair but I shoved her hands away. My nose flared in anger.
"You know what? I'm done helping you with your academic work. If you can't do it yourself then go ahead and fail!" I screamed, my chest rising and falling.
"You think I can't do without you?" Her face turned red. "You know you don't even have a fucking say. I'll let mother know."
"Trust me, I'm serious this time. It's time for me to pick myself up and pursue a scholarship to college..." I poked her chest, "and stay away from all of you!"
She pushed me back by my chest.
"You want to bring this battle on? Fine, Uriel." She smirked, covering up the space between us. "I never lose a battle. Never."
"Good." I told her, turning away.
"Don't walk away from me!" She yelled like a mad woman. I held the door, eyeing her. "Stay away from Ryder or else I'll make sure you suffer worse."
So this was all about him?
I scoffed, walking back inside the room. My eyes were partially dried now.
"Ryder Connell?" I spoke calmly, smoothening my hand on her shoulder. "Sorry, sis. I'm done doing whatever you tell me."
"Excuse you?" She eyed me in disgust, pushing my hands off.
I caught her hand in time, on the air. My grip tightened around her lanky wrist.
"I know you're daft so I'm going to put it in a simpler term."
Her eyes blazed with fury. She tried to free her hand from my grip but couldn't.
"I'm never staying away from Ryder Connell, sister." I leaned forward, whispering dangerously low, "Do. Your. Worse."
