EVOLET
It's her again. The little Vampire girl.
I saw her playing around in the mansion, giving the guards hard time in getting her to her father.
Her adorable nature bloomed my heart until darkness took over, and she was gone.
It was that same horrible battle. The same war that ruined it all.
When I turned around to find my way out of the dark clouds, Chriselda came at me with her sword, forcing me out of my sleep.
I opened my eyes, staring at the ceiling and breathing out heavily.
"Another dream," I sighed, relaxing back in the bed.
That's when I felt Cadell's arm falling around me.
I turned over to see my sweet pervy wolf sleeping like an angel. He looks so adorable when he's fast asleep.
Since it was morning, I decided to get out of bed and get myself ready for the day, but someone wouldn't allow it.
"Not now," Cadell said, trapping me in a cuddle.
He pulled me closer to himself and told me not to go anywhere. "We are on our honeymoon. No need to get up," he grumbled with his eyes shut, tightening his grip around my body.
I chuckled at his statement and asked, "Honeymoon? Who told you that?"
"Mom," he groaned, talking about my mother.
"She said you're mine from now on. That means we're married."
"You are crazy, Cadell. Let go!"
I began struggling with this stubborn man, but he wouldn't budge. He kept his arms locked and said, finally opening his eyes to look at me, "Kiss me then I'll let you go."
"Cadell."
"I'm serious. I need my morning smooches from my girl. So… Kiss me," he persisted, refusing to give up.
I sighed, accepting defeat.
When I drew closer to kiss his lips, Cadell swiftly turned me over, trapping me under.
"Cadell!" I called out loudly, hitting his chest.
He smiled at me and said, "We are going to stay here until someone comes knocking on that door. Till then…"
"AHH!" I busted out when he began playing naughtily with me, forcing out laughter from my mouth.
"Stop! Okay fine, you win! YOU WIN!" I begged Cadell, trying to stop him from tickling my funny bones any further.
As we were having fun, a knock finally came on the door.
I looked at Cadell with a big smile and said, "Looks like it's time, Lazy bones. You have no choice but to…"
"Evolet… Cadell!"
"Mom?!" I exclaimed, recognizing my mother's voice.
A sinister smile crept across Cadell's face, making me suspect his plan.
"What are you doing?" I questioned, squinting my gaze at him.
He didn't reply me but responded to Mom, saying, "We're up. Do you want to come in?"
"CADELL!" I shrieked, trying to push him off.
Mom immediately agreed, with the sound of the door knob clicking.
With force, I dragged myself out of Cadell's clutches and ran to the corner.
That got him laughing out loudly at me.
He just made a joke out of me!
"How dare you?" I growled, squinting my eyes at him.
"Relax," he said, getting out of bed and approaching the door. "It's locked." He proved it by twisting the knob.
It really was locked.
Naughty man. I thought he wanted Mom to come in like that and see us in bed.
Still, I'm going to get back at him for this.
Cadell unlocked the door for Mom. She came inside, looking all dressed and ready for the tour Trent promised her.
Her face was filled with smiles as she asked, "Why aren't you ready? Have you forgotten we're heading into the pack? Quickly, get yourself set."
She clapped her hands like some coach, glancing at Cadell and I.
When her eyes fell on her messy daughter, then at the untidy bed, then back at me again… "So, wild night huh?" she asked Cadell.
"MOM!"
"Not quite," Cadell responded, leaning closer to my mother. "We're taking things slowly."
"Oh! Well, you have all the nights ahead." She winked at him, shocking me.
Unable to stand her strange behavior, I rushed up to Mom and pulled her aside, asking, "What happened to you?"
"What happened to me? What happened to you?!"
"What?" I was confused. It's like this woman is trying to mess with my head or something.
I snapped out of my puzzling state and asked, frowning at her, "What happened to your motherly love? It's like it disappeared the moment you saw Cadell."
"My motherly love is still intact. You're the one who's seeing something else."
"Mom, really? I know you to be a hard nut when you see me with a man. You don't even want to know how I got next to one without giving me the death stare! And just last night, you dumped your daughter in the arms of Cadell!"
"So?" she narrowed her brow with no care. And that bugged me even more.
"He's a guy!"
"Yeah, I know. That's why I left you with him."
What… I… I don't even know how to describe her behavior.
"Oh quit this chicken act, Evolet. Don't act like you weren't happy when I left you with him last night. You were blushing red like cherry," she shunned, leaving me both shocked and also embarrassed.
"That's… not true," I denied, touching my cheek.
I'm just astonished with her sudden change. She really surprised me yesterday with all her excitement.
It's creepy.
"Don't be ashamed to express your love because I'm here. I don't mind at all," she shrugged, grinning at me.
Frowning at her, I said, "But it feels weird. It's like you're no longer yourself. Almost as if my own mother doesn't want me anymore."
Mom understood my point and gave out a sigh. She cupped my cheek and spoke to me in her usual tone, "I am still the same person, Eve. I'm not leaving you. Let's just say I'm experiencing a new change after a long time."
I hummed, feeling emotional.
"I can finally breath knowing that everything is going to be okay. And besides, you shouldn't be worried. I kept my promise, didn't I?"
"Promise?" Which promise iis she talking about?
Mom rolled her eyes when she saw the confusion written on my face. "Really? The one about you getting your freedom when I hand you over to the right man? I wasn't joking when I said that."
"Wait, you were actually referring to…" I froze, turning around to see Cadell waving back at me.
Goodness! Mom was talking about him all this time?!
"Ah, there's the glow again. Someone's happy!" Mom laughed, pointing at my cheek.
I was flushing hard, keeping my head down.
No wonder she's so excited. She finally handed me to the man she has been hoping to marry me off to!
Oh God! I can't stop myself from blushing.
"When you two are done, meet us in the living room. We'll be waiting," Mom said, winking at me.
She left me alone with Cadell, getting all thrilled about the tour.
I remained in my spot, still feeling the heat all around my body.
My lips slowly crawled into a smile with Mom's words ringing in my head.
"She kept me for Cadell?" I smiled, grinning out.
"So…" I felt Pervy wolf's arms wrapping my body from behind. "Can we proceed with our honeymoon? This wolf could use some snuggles before we step out."
"It's still a no," I refused, pulling out from his arms and straight into the bathroom.
As soon as I shut myself inside, my head fell on the door, with laughter filling my mouth.
I couldn't control the excitement taking over me.
Now Mom's action didn't look weird but amusing to me.
She just gave me out to Cadell like that.
"Oh Mom," I giggled.
