CHAPTER 91

EVOLET

"Again! How is she doing this?!"

I ran with speed, avoiding this demon from reaching me!

He was running crazily, destroying whatever that came in its way!

"Get out!" I yelled at the people I saw stepping out of their hideout, trying my best to change position so that the demon bat won't trample on them.

"ARGH!" I grabbed a car off my path with my strength and forcefully tossed it right at the demon, giving me the chance to distance myself farther.

But that wasn't enough to slow his speed. It only made him mad.

"The forest!" I gasped, noticing the trees far ahead from where I was. "That's the only place I can take this beast to before he brings Brook wave down," I planned, increasing my pace.

As I dashed ahead, I suddenly heard from behind… "NOW!"

When I turned to look, I saw a silver chain being lifted from the ground and causing the demon bat to fall down hard!

The sight of this stunned me.

"Who…" I said, but paused when I saw the two people close to me coming out from where they had hidden themselves.

"I told you it would work."

"Mom!" I called in surprise, watching both Derby and my mother celebrating their victory in making the demon bat crash to the floor.

"Bestie!" Derby yelled out my name, rushing towards me with Mom following.

"What are you doing here?!" I exclaimed, getting worried.

Derby and Mom frowned at my question, crossing their arms.

"You're welcome," Mom responded, asquinting right at me.

"Why are you worried? We took it down!" Derby bragged, pointing at Mom and herself.

As they drew near, I spotted the hand of the demon bat reaching for them with speed.

"CRAP!" I exclaimed, grabbing both Mom and Derby close, dashing off from that spot.

His hand smashed right into the ground, leaving a mark. That shocked Derby and Mom, who gazed at this restless demon, rising back on his feet.

His red eyes flashed at us with a deep growl echoing like an engine.

I knew what was about to go down at that point. And I hope these two can cope.

"Okay, I'll advice you two to give me your hands and get your legs ready. Just try and endure whatever comes your way," I whispered, carefully reaching for their hands.

Their fingers were shaking a bit. They didn't want to flop when I make the move.

On seeing the demon bat taking one step, speedily I flashed off with Mom and Derby, heading for the forest.

"AHH!" Derby screamed while trying to keep up. Mom was struggling to cope and that got me worried for them.

"Hold on!" I said, using my strength to lift them off the ground and closer to myself, applying more pace.

The creature followed. He had no choice since that's the assignment given to him.

He forced out his wings and began flying towards our point, trying to grab us with his hands.

"He's coming!" Mom alerted.

And by the Goddess's mercy, we dived into the forest, distancing from the demon bat. The creature failed to enter due to the branches that almost poked right into his body.

That gave us the time to move further from the vampire, and for me to find a perfect spot to hide Derby and Mom.

"This is freaking cool! You finally unleashed your beast! But this so weird, like too abnormal!" Derby reacted, overwhelmed by the truth.

Well, not all the truth.

I broke down some trees to create a hideout for both Derby and my mother, so they won't have to face this beast along with me.

I had to be quick because of the strong aura I was feeling.

"He's getting close," I panicked, setting everything in order.

Done, I faced Derby and Mom and said, "Hide here. I'll distract the creature to a different place and face it."

"Face it?! No!" Mom voiced, standing against my plan.

"I won't leave my daughter in the hands of a monster. You are my child and I have to be there to protect you!"

"Mom, please!" I cupped her face, feeling emotional. "You have to listen to me, please. This… This creature is after me alone, not you two. I am the one it wants here," I pointed out, so she'd understand.

She didn't want to listen. She kept hammering on her duty over me. Even Derby that I was expecting to back me up, supported Mom.

"We can't leave you alone. No way!"

"Trust me, please. I know how to handle this problem myself. It's not the first time, and… and I hope this would end soon," I said, thinking of all the challenges ahead of me.

"This is my battle," I made it clear, getting serious.

Mom stared into my eyes with concern. She lowered her head down and said something that boosted my strength, " I believe in you. Just… just be careful."

That's what I needed. Her support.

When all these is over, I'll introduce her to Cadell and… "HIDE!" I alerted them on seeing the demon bat running towards us from behind the hideout I made!

Mom and Derby ran into the little space, while I made my move, almost fleeing from that part when the creature came blocking my path, stopping me from running away!

I was still close to the shelter where mom and my friend was, but I had no choice left, since we were away from the pack.

"No more running. I can still handle you here with ease," I said to the creature, taking position.

And to my surprise, it responded, "You don't deserve that power. It belongs to my Queen!"

It attacked, getting into a combat with me.

I fought back this creature, keeping it away from the shelter. His attack was different from the deer I faced the other time. Maybe because this is a human like being with the strength that surpasses some creatures, I guess.

I had a lot of opportunities to release this creature from the sorceress's control, but I ended up failing, and it's because of my wolf!

It immediately reminded me of the plan Cadell and I had, in searching for the piece Sorceress Thelma and Queen Chriselda had in their hold.

Yes! This is the chance I have in finding it.

"If only I can get this demon down, then I can try my best in connecting with the sorceress! But can this level of my strength acquire that?" I wondered, punching the slimy face of the beast.

Suddenly, I heard Derby scream from the side, "WOLFY!"

"Wolfy?" My heart skipped at the name she mentioned!

I turned my head over and saw Cadell and Trent dashing towards me!

At last!

With speed, they both shifted into their full beast and pounced in-between the demon bat and I, causing the creature to drift back in fear.

The Vampire demon roared, and my boys returned a more louder and terrifying thunder, showing the beast he was no match for them.

"Get back," Cadell ordered me, as his form shifted into his advanced stage, matching the height of the demon bat.

"Don't kill him. The Sorceress has him under her control."

"She made him into this nonsense? How nice," Trent commented.

"Whatever you do, don't destroy the dust. When you pin him down I want to do something," I shared my plan with Cadell, who nodded, saying, "As you wish."

Without hesitating, they both attacked the vampire demon, giving it the beating of his life!

I drew away from the battle ground to avoid getting caught in the fight. That's when Derby and Mom came closer to be, gazing in shock!

"Did Wolfy and Kitty just shift into that?!" Derby asked, looking lost while watching this combat.

Mom on the other hand, couldn't say a word. Her attention where on the guys.

The sudden revelation made her dumbstruck that she couldn't look or question me like Derby.

"Eve, Kitty… Why does he look like the Alpha Cat?" Derby questioned, fixing her gaze on Trent.

She swayed her head and said with full confidence, "It's him. I recognize him! That's the same Werecat you and Wolfy fought. And Wolfy? Oh my God."

Oh dear. Someone is losing it.

"I'll explain everything later, I promise," I assured, pulling them back from getting tangled with the fight.

From their face expression, I'd say they are frozen to the core.

Mom's reaction is killing me more.

She's quiet.

I heard the demon bat shrieking out on the battleground. Cadell had finally forced him to the ground with his feet stomping his chest, and Trent had his head pinned as well.

Seeing this, I quickly ran up to them and touched the dust with my finger, but nothing was happening. I couldn't connect.

"It's not working. What should I do?" I asked, looking at Cadell.

Pervy Wolf suddenly tapped one of the bead of my necklace, and I felt my wolf energy increasing.

When I placed my hand on the forehead of the creature, I finally saw things from the other side… through Sorceress Thelma's eyes!

"AHHH!" She was screaming in pain, trying to force me out.

"Thelma! THELMA!" Queen Chriselda yelled from the side. "What's happening to you?!"

When I turned over to look at the Queen… "I see it!" I yelled, staring at the pendant around Queen Chriselda's neck!

It was glowing purple!

That's where the piece is!

No wonder Cadell couldn't find it that night. They sealed it up.

"AHHH!" The sorceress screamed on, rushing towards a table in her room like a lunatic.

Now that I got the information I needed, I pulled myself out of her head and released the vampire from her hold. The dust came off, and Cadell annihilated it from fleeing off.

The Vampire shifted back to his human form, breathing heavily. He opened his eyes and got scared on seeing us.

He was more terrified of Cadell and Trent's form, which forced the Vampire to flee away without looking back, screaming.

"Vampire?" Trent uttered in surprise, looking at me. "I thought the demon bat was just an idea from that witch?" he asked, shifting back into his human form.

"No," Cadell said, doing the same, before turning me over to face him. "They came to attack this pack, and someone had to step in." He smirked, fixing my necklace for me.

"She handled the situation," he praised me, causing my cheek to swell.

But I wanted to do more than just a smile.

My Naughty Wolf is finally here!

Filled with so much joy, I jumped right on Cadell with my arms wrapped around his neck, squeezing my pervy wolf close.

"I missed you so much! Why didn't you guys come quickly?! Why?!"

Cadell and Trent laughed.

I was engulfed in the moment when the sound of footsteps pulled me out.

I lifted my eyes and found Derby and Mom gazing at us.

Goodness, I forgot!

Letting go of Cadell, I slowly walked up to them with the guys accompanying me from behind.

The daze in their gaze… So many questions hovering in their mind.

Standing before them, I cleared my throat and said to the one who needed the explanation more.

"Mom," I called.

But she gave me the palm, fixing her gaze on the guys.

She just walked pass me, without glancing my way. I turned around to see her looking at Trent and Cadell, silently.

Derby, who was now by my side, stared at Trent with her face turning red and her body shivering.

Poor girl just found out the truth about her crush. I hope this doesn't bring a wedge between them?

Looking back at Mom, who now had her eyes on Cadell… "Where have you been all these years, Cadell?" I heard from Mom.

It was… Jaw-dropping!

Cadell, who had a light smile, responded, "I've been around, Agnes. I never left."

Suddenly, Mom broke into tears and dived into Cadell's arms for an embrace.

The sight of this stunned and melted my heart all together!

Mom and Cadell know each other!

Why didn't he tell me?
