EVOLET
"Are you serious right now? You think Beta Dean is a Pervert?" I was astonished by Cadell's accusation. He thinks the Beta only helped me just to get under my skirt!
"That's sick! He's nothing like that!"
"Don't let cute talks and innocent gazes fool you, Evolet. I know a perv when I see one."
"Oh really? So, you're now an expert in telling who is who?" I asked, crossing my arms at Cadell.
He lifted his brow with seriousness, still standing on his word. I didn't want to believe that a man like Beta Dean carries such canal thoughts within, like Cadell.
He's a gentle man with morals. This Perv is just trying to scare me with his so-called claim.
"Expert or not. I am no fool. Just make sure he doesn't near you," he warned, walking towards the bed where I sat.
I got to my feet and asked, keeping my distance away from him. " And if he does? What are you going to do?"
In a sudden brief moment, Cadell glared at me with no words. His brown eyes flashed silver, causing my heart to skip in fright.
But in a flash, he gave a smile and just jumped into bed, saying, "Let's put that maniac aside for now, my love. Just come to Daddy. You must be tired." He beckoned with his finger, winking at me.
I rolled my eyes in disgust, heading for the bathroom.
"Don't even think about following me," I warned, stepping into the washroom with my back.
Cadell kept his gaze on me, until I was inside. I shut the door close, sighing out in relief. But what he said about the Beta kept ringing in my head.
It felt so inappropriate to think of Wolf Fall's Beta like that.
"He's crazy," I said, drawing closer to the sink to wash my face.
.
At night, we all gathered at the dining room , waiting for the Queen and sorceress to arrive.
The other damsels have been giving me the stink-eye, ever since Derby and I showed up.
It wasn't hard to tell why they were all glaring at me like they had seen the pack's ultimate enemy. They were still mad with the fact that I challenged the Queen's unjust rule.
But who cares what they think? I did what I felt was right. And as long as I have my necklace and Derby by my side, I'm fine.
Just as we all sat down, Queen Chriselda stepped in with the sorceress, looking excited. She suddenly called our attention to her point, saying, "Good news, ladies. Before your training begins, you'll all have a one on one talk with my son, your Alpha," she announced, surprising every maiden in the room.
Cheers of joy filled the room. Every Damsel were excited with the information shared by the Queen. They almost went crazy!
I was also thrilled by what she said. "At last, we'll get to see Alpha Allen. And not just see, but talk to him face to face! Is this his plan to meet with me, alone?" I gasped, feeling my heart glowing just thinking about it.
"Maybe… Maybe Beta Dean knew what I was going to ask him this morning, then he told Allen on my behalf! He must have made this decision just to see me, his… his true love!" I believed from within, giggling out.
"This is exactly what I prayed for. Thank you, Goddess. Thank you!" I appreciated, reaching for my necklace with a kiss.
The Queen soon told us to be in our best behaviour for her son. "He has decided to see you pretty ladies tomorrow. Make sure you do your best to impress him. Who knows, he might just pick his Queen before the hunt ends," she chuckled, placing her hand on Sorceress Thelma.
"I'll leave you girls to enjoy your dinner. I wish you all good luck with my son."
"Thank you, Queen Chriselda," we all chorused, taking a curtsy.
She left the room with the sorceress, leaving us all alone.
As soon as she exited the dining, the girls resumed with their cheers, dancing around with joy.
"Isn't this great, Derby? Finally we get to see Alpha Allen," I cheered, grabbing her hand close. But Derby didn't look pleased like the others.
She just rolled her eyes and said, "I don't want to talk to him, one on one. This isn't part of my vacation plans at the mansion! Damn!" She grumbled.
I was busy laughing at Derby's silliness, when Fiona's voice got our attention.
"You heard the Queen. Our conversation with the Alpha might lead to a whole new tale," she said out, directing her gaze my way. "He might just pick his Luna tomorrow, and end the hunt. So, may the best damsel win," she smirked at me, chuckling.
I understood her message. She's reminding me of the deal we both made.
With full faith, I know that I'm going to defeat her. She won't take my place in Allen's heart. I belong to him alone.
.
After dinner, I decided to take a stroll outside the mansion, just to get some fresh air.
The sudden news from the Queen was still overwhelming. I was beginning to feel scared, wondering what Allen would say or ask me when we see each other.
"I know he's going to ask why I ran away that night. Gosh! He's going to be so upset for sure!" I groaned, slapping my forehead.
I began to rehearse how I'd respond to his questions and how I'd react when he decides to make his move.
"Just imagine, Evolet. What if he goes on his knee and says, 'Will you marry me?' AH! I'm going to explode!" I shrieked out joyfully, about to make a turn to the side of the mansion, when suddenly… "OUCH!" I bumped my body hard against a strong figure.
"Sorry, I didn't see you there," I apologized, rubbing my shoulder.
On lifting my gaze to look at the fellow that turned over to face me, I… I froze at once!
It wasn't a guard or a helper of the Royal home, but… "Alpha Allen?" I uttered, gazing into the eyes of the man I love.
It was him! He was standing right in my front, with his beautiful red wolf eyes shimmering heavenly.
He tilted his head to the side, lifting his left brow at me.
"Goddess! Allen is here! What should I do? WHAT SHOULD I DO?!"
