Chapter 201 201
Chapter 201 201
The night had been unusually quiet. Too quiet.
Even the rogues stationed around the camp seemed restless, their hands lingering on their weapons as though they sensed something approaching through the darkness.
Inside the tent, Alyna sat chained to the wooden post, watching Sarmon as he stood near the entrance. Their conversation had ended, but the tension between them remained.
Then it happened. A distant shout pierced the night.
It was followed by the unmistakable sound of steel meeting steel. A scream echoed through the camp. Another followed.
Sarmon's head snapped toward the entrance.
The look in his eyes changed instantly. Every trace of conversation disappeared. Only the warrior remained. Without a word, he strode out of the tent.
Alyna's heart immediately began pounding.
Something was happening. She shifted forward as much as the chains allowed and listened.
The camp erupted into chaos. Roars. Shouts.
Weapons clashing.
The ground itself seemed to tremble beneath the stampede of wolves. Sarmon stepped into the center of the camp and immediately understood what had happened.
Several guards lay dead near the perimeter. Blood stained the earth beneath them. Their throats had been torn open before they could raise an alarm.
For a brief moment, Sarmon simply stared.
Then a slow smile spread across his face. It wasn't anger.
It wasn't surprise.It was satisfaction.
At last. They had come.
For days he had anticipated this moment. For days he had wondered whether Asher and Xander would have the courage to attack. Now they finally had.
Sarmon lifted his head and laughed. The sound rolled through the battlefield like thunder.
"So you finally came!"
His voice carried across the camp. Torches illuminated hundreds of warriors rushing through the darkness. The battle had begun. Rogues poured from every direction.
Xander's warriors crashed into them head-on. The impact sounded like a storm breaking.
Wolves shifted in every direction. Men screamed orders. Steel flashed beneath the moonlight. The peaceful forest transformed into a battlefield.
Alyna could hear everything from inside the tent. The terrifying sounds made her stomach twist. Outside, Asher cut through several rogues who attempted to surround him.
His movements were precise. Brutal. Years of training showed in every strike.
Not far away, Xander fought with equal ferocity. The two rival Alphas who had once planned to destroy each other now stood side by side against a common enemy. Everywhere Alyna looked through the gaps in the tent fabric, wolves were fighting. Bodies collided. Claws slashed. Blood stained the earth. The air itself smelled of smoke and violence.
Then suddenly, everything seemed to slow. Because Asher and Sarmon finally saw each other. Across the battlefield.
Their eyes locked. Neither needed an introduction. Neither needed words. The tension between them was immediate.
Sarmon stepped forward.
A towering figure among his warriors. Even surrounded by battle, he seemed larger than life.
Ancient. Dangerous. Unbreakable. Asher stood opposite him. Protective fury burned in his eyes.
Alyna. His only thought was Alyna.
Sarmon had taken her. And now he would pay for it. Without speaking, both Alphas shifted.
Bones cracked. Muscles expanded. Clothes tore apart. Two massive wolves emerged beneath the moonlight.
Asher's wolf stood tall and powerful, silver-grey fur gleaming beneath the firelight. Sarmon's wolf was enormous.
Dark as midnight. Scarred from countless battles. The sight alone made many warriors step back.
Then they charged. The collision shook the ground.
Both wolves slammed into each other with terrifying force. Growls exploded through the battlefield. Claws tore through fur. Fangs snapped. Neither gave ground.
Sarmon had centuries of experience. Asher had youth, strength, and determination.
The fight became savage almost immediately. They crashed through tents.
Splintered wooden structures. Sent warriors scrambling out of their path.
Sarmon managed to slash Asher's shoulder. Blood sprayed across the ground. Asher retaliated by sinking his teeth into Sarmon's neck. The older Alpha roared with rage.
Around them, the battle intensified. Xander continued pushing deeper into the camp. His only objective was finding Alyna.
Nothing else mattered.
Meanwhile, inside her prison tent, Alyna realized the battle had truly begun. Her heart filled with hope.
"Asher!"
She shouted.
"Xander!"
Her voice cracked. The chains prevented her from moving far.
She pulled desperately against them.
"Help!"
Outside, the sounds of war drowned her voice.
Nobody could hear her.
Smoke suddenly drifted into the tent.
Alyna froze.
The smell hit her first.
Fire. Her eyes widened.
One of the nearby structures had caught fire during the battle. The flames were spreading rapidly.
A burning beam collapsed nearby.
Sparks flew through the air. Within moments, the canvas walls around her began burning.
"No..."
Panic surged through her. The flames spread quickly. Far too quickly. Heat filled the tent. Smoke burned her lungs. Alyna desperately pulled against the silver chains. Nothing happened.
The metal bit painfully into her wrists. The fire continued growing.
The exit became blocked by falling debris.
Tears filled her eyes. Not like this. She couldn't die like this.
Not without seeing Leo again. Not without saying goodbye. The realization shattered her heart.
Images flooded her mind.
Leo laughing, running through the pack.
Asher smiling at her. Xander promising to protect her. All the people she loved. All the people she might never see again. Tears streamed down her face.
"I love you, Leo," she whispered.
The flames climbed higher. Heat pressed against her skin. The smoke became unbearable. She closed her eyes.
For the first time, genuine despair settled over her. Maybe this was it. Maybe this was the moment she had foreseen. Maybe fate had finally caught up with her.
The tent groaned as another burning support collapsed.
Alyna lowered her head. Her body trembled.
She silently wished happiness for the people she loved.
For her son. For Asher. For Xander. For everyone.
Then,
"Alyna!"
The voice cut through the chaos.
Her eyes snapped open.
For a moment she thought she imagined it.
"Alyna!"
The voice came again.
Hope exploded inside her chest.
She looked toward the entrance through the smoke.
A figure burst through the burning canvas.
The flames illuminated his face.
Alyna's breath caught.
"Xander..."
Relief flooded her eyes as she stared at him.
And for the first time since her capture, she truly believed she might survive.
