Chapter 305

Chapter 305
Right. He was still ill regardless of if Xander had any control over him.

“I was just dropping by to see if you need an IV change,” Dr. Davis said as he strolled over to my bedside and began fiddling with the IVs.

I couldn’t keep my eyes off Theo who was also staring back at me. I could see the wheels turning in his mind; I wasn’t sure what he was thinking. But I knew we were both on the same page. This was a lot for either of us to handle. We traveled back into the past. It worked.

Once Dr. Davis finished examining me and changing out my IV bags, he left the room without another word.

“It worked,” I breathed, staring down at my hands as if they held all this power I never knew existed. “We actually went back in time… right?”

Or was it all a dream? Did any of it really happen?

“Yeah…” Theo breathed. “It worked.”

It wasn’t a dream; Theo remembered everything that had happened too. It couldn’t have been a dream.

“Wrenley doesn’t exist yet,” I breathed, staring at him with sad eyes.

“No, but she will,” he said, taking a hold of my hands. “Now we can do all this the right way. Without Xander’s influence and meddling. There’s nothing in our way.”

I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my lips as he leaned down and kissed me gently. He was right; now that Xander had no power over our lands, we could finally start our lives the way the moon goddess had intended. As fated mates.

Theo was my fated mate and I knew that now. Ollie knew that now.

“We have to get a hold of Travis and Raya,” I said breathlessly as he pulled away from me. “Do you think they remember anything that happened?”

Theo thought about it for a moment before shaking his head.

“No,” he answered. “I don’t think they would remember anything. I think the only ones who would remember are us because we are the ones who reset the time. We are the ones the moon goddess had chosen. I think that’s the only reason why we remember what we do.”

It was probably a good thing that nobody would remember what had happened. It was better for them.

“What about your sister?” I asked sadly.

I knew Liz couldn’t have come back to our land with us. But according to Gemma, she wouldn’t have stayed in the underworld either. Her soul was free to go wherever souls go after life. She was free from the underworld at last. But I also knew that Theo didn’t get a chance to say his final goodbyes to her. The whole point of going to the underworld for Theo the very first time was to get his sister; I’m sure there was a part of him that went back the second and third time with the hope that he would be able to help her as well.

“It’s okay,” he said softly, giving me a faint smile. “She’s free now. She’s no longer having to live under Xander. That’s all I ever wanted for her. I can rest knowing she’s free.”

I wrapped my arms around him as he sat on the edge of my bed; nuzzling my head in his chest, I felt his lips on the top of my head.

“So, why did we go back to this moment?” Theo asked as he peered around my face.

As soon as he asked that question, I gasped loudly and met his eyes.

“Because of Dana,” I said quickly. “Goldie is going to kill her. We must save her!”

Molly

“She could have been under Xander’s control. Now that Xander has no power, neither does Goldie,” Theo tried to tell me, but I was already ripping the IVs out of my arm. “Easy Molly. You could puncture a vein.”

“I’m not taking any chances,” I said in return. “I can’t lose her again, Theo.”

For a moment, he looked like he wanted to protest against me, but with one look at my stern face, he knew it was better that he didn’t. He sighed and grabbed onto my arms, stopping me from pulling out any more of the IVs.

“Let me do it,” he said as he cautiously pulled the IVs out of my arm.

He grabbed some bandages that were left on the nightstand and wrapped my arms with the soft cloth, keeping my bleeding at bay.

“We still have some time before anything happens at the palace; we need to be smart about this,” Theo says as he finishes tying the bandages around my arms. “I won’t be able to do anything unless we catch Goldie in the act. I can’t just have her arrested based on suspicion.”

“It’s not suspicion,” I say, narrowing my eyes at him. “We know what’s going to happen because it’s already happened.”

“We can’t just walk in and say we are from the future,” Theo reminds me with a headshake. “They will have us locked up for being crazy.”
