Chapter 64 CHAPTER 64

Chapter 64 CHAPTER 64
ΚΑΙ

The ride to Blackstone felt like I was traveling through the past, my thoughts spiraling to Alina and everything she had shared with me about this place during our brief friendship phase before I fucked it up. I kissed the nights when she felt comfortable enough to open up about her past to me.

She told me about her father, the cruel beta who had never shown her a shred of love since her mother her died. Her step-sister Beck who had made her life hell, and Alex, the alpha's son who had broken her heart without a second thought. Each of them, in their own ways, had contributed to the pain Alina had suffered. And now, I was here to finish what she started. To end the cycle of power that had crushed her.

I was not going there only to conquer to the pack which is mostly the main reason. I wanted to get Alina back the justice she deserved by hurting back the people that did that to her. They had destroyed and broken her so much to the point that she used to cry whenever she told me about the stories about her pack.

Since I saw tears spill out of her years, I knew this was it. If I didn't get my revenge on them then I was never going to rest. When I arrived at the gates of the Blackstone pack, I was greeted by two guards who looked uneasy as they ushered me through. Word had spread that I was dead, that I had fallen in battle and wouldn't be a problem anymore. But they had underestimated me. Everyone had. I felt a thrill of satisfaction at the fear in their eyes when they saw me alive and well, even though I kept my expression cold and controlled.

The alpha of Blackstone, a broad-shouldered man with graying hair and deep-set eyes, sat at the head of a long wooden table. He gave me a calculated look as I approached, the beta-Alina's father- standing beside him. The sight of him stirred something dark in me, the memories of all the ways he had mistreated Alina flashing through my mind. She had told me about his neglect, about how he had never shown her any kindness, how he had stood by while Beck and her mother destroyed her spirit.

I clenched my fists at my sides, barely managing to keep my anger in check. But this wasn't the time for rage. I needed to approach this strategically.

"Alpha Kai," the Blackstone alpha greeted me, his voice cool and diplomatic. "I didn't expect to see you here. I heard some troubling news... that you had died."

"Rumors tend to spread like wildfire," I replied smoothly, my eyes flicking to the beta, Alina's father, who couldn't quite meet my gaze. Good. He had every reason to be ashamed. "I'm very much alive, as you can see."

The alpha's lips twitched, but he didn't smile. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. "So, what brings you to Blackstone?"

I didn't waste time. "I want you to back me in conquering the Seven Isles. I'm taking back what's rightfully mine, and I need your support."

The alpha didn't flinch, but I could see the flicker of shock in his eyes. I knew this was not what they were expecting. They saw me as a different person now that I was not alpha in line. They were only loyal to the crown, but I knew I could persuade him. He exchanged a glance with the beta, who finally met my gaze, his expression unreadable.

"You know I have loyalty to the current alpha of the Seven Isles," the Blackstone alpha said slowly. "I can't simply betray that."

I expected his answer, but it still annoyed me. It was either that he I was going to take the wrong way.

"I'm offering you a chance to be on the right side of history," I said, my voice low and dangerous. "Think carefully before you refuse."

The alpha sat back in his chair, his expression hardening. "I appreciate your offer, Kai, but Blackstone stands with the current leadership. I can't afford to be dragged into your war."

I clenched my jaw, my anger rising. I had given him a chance, more out of courtesy than anything else. But if he wanted to be difficult, I had no problem showing him exactly what kind of power he was dealing with.

"You've made a mistake," I growled, and before anyone could react, I shifted into my lycan form, my body expanding into the massive, hulking beast that I had come to know well. The table creaked and cracked beneath the weight of my claws as I leapt onto it, snarling, my eyes locked onto the alpha's.

The Blackstone alpha's eyes widened, and he jumped to his feet, but it was too late. With a single swipe of my claws, I ripped through the chains he had wrapped around his throne-a pathetic attempt at protection. I had already anticipated something like this. They had underestimated my strength.

I lunged forward, my teeth sinking into his neck, and I tore it apart with one swift motion. His head rolled across the floor, coming to a stop at the feet of his beta and children. The room erupted in screams, but I paid no mind to the chaos around me.

I shifted back into my human form, standing over the alpha's lifeless body. Blood dripped from my hands, my heart pounding with the adrenaline of the kill. I glanced at Alina's father, who was pale and trembling, his eyes wide with terror. Beck and Alex stood frozen in place, their faces twisted with fear and disbelief.

I wasn't here to kill them, at least not yet. But I wanted them to feel the weight of their failures, to know that I could end them with a single word if I chose to.

"I'm not going to kill you," I said coldly, my voice echoing in the silent room. "But you will go back and tell the elders that I have killed your alpha. From now on, I will be the alpha of Blackstone, and I will merge this pack with mine. The Seven Isles will fall under my control."

Alina's father looked like he was going to pass out, his knees buckling as he stumbled back a step. He was a coward, and it was clear that the loss of his alpha had broken whatever courage he had left.

I turned to Alex and Beck, their faces pale. "You two are coming with me," I told them, my tone leaving no room for argument. "Consider it a token of my goodwill. Trophies, if you will."

Lily, who had been quietly observing from the corner of the room, stepped forward. She had regained her strength since her near execution, but there was still a weariness in her eyes.

"Is it smart to keep the heir of the pack alive?" she asked, her voice cautious.

I looked at Alex, who was still too shocked to speak. "I need them alive for now," I said. "But don't worry, they won't be a problem."

Lily raised an eyebrow but didn't press further. She knew better than to question my plans. She was with me on this, and she trusted me to see it through.

"We'll return to the pack I've already conquered," I continued. “I'll need an army from both this pack and the one I've claimed. Once I'm sworn in as the alpha of both, I'll unite them under one name— Waterstone. We'll build an empire, stronger than the Seven Isles ever were."

Lily nodded, though there was a flicker of doubt in her eyes. "And what about Alina?"

My chest tightened at the mention of her name. I had been fighting for her, for this future we could share, but I hadn't seen her for sometime now. The thought of her filled me with both longing and guilt. I hadn't been there when she lost our child. That pain cut deeper than any blade.

"I'll use everything to make sure that she is not in danger. I am going assign spies and everything if it meant she will become, which was a tough decision," I said, my voice firm. "But the good thing about how when this is over, she'll be mine again."

Lily gave me a long look, but she didn't say anything. She understood what was at stake. She knew that everything I was doing was for Alina-for the pack, for the legacy we would build together.

As we gathered Alex and Beck, their faces still frozen in fear, I felt the weight of my decisions pressing down on me. I had come too far to turn back now. The Seven Isles were mine to claim, and I would stop at nothing to take them.

I was going to take the back to her as trophies. I felt like this was the best apology as fast apologies go to.
