Chapter 34 SLOANE

Chapter 34 SLOANE
Chapter 34

SLOANE

I stood in front of the mirror, staring at the outfit on my body. It’s a black leather short skirt about my knee, right on my thigh. And a boot long enough to reach my knee and the top was a base top, with a collar. I tied my hair into a low ponytail, put on light makeup, and grabbed my bag. I looked so hot, so—- me.

How did he find this outfit? Where did he get them from? Ah! It doesn’t matter, I should go down, he is probably waiting.

I grabbed a jacket and placed it over my body as I ran downstairs. “Sloane?” I heard Aunty Louisa’s voice.

“Aunty.”I forced a smiled, wrapping my arms around my body, to make sure the jacket was intact.

“Are you heading out? It’s late.” She said, walking up to me.

Shit! What if she sees my makeup? I thought she’d be in her room. This is a bad idea.

And it’s only 8 pm Aunty Louisa, it’s not late! But I can’t tell you that, can I?

“Oh, I am meeting with a couple of — uhm— friends.” I said, “I’d be back on time.” I said to her.

Thankfully she stopped a few feet away from me so I doubt she’ll see my makeup.

“Okay, be safe. If you need a ride back home, call Xaden. Jasper said he was drinking with friends or better, you can stay with those friends and return in the morning.” She said to me warm and sweet.

“Thanks, Aunty.”

“Is Xaden waiting for you? I saw him standing outside his car.”

Shit! Shit!

What should I say? No — uhm—-

“He offered to give me a ride since it’s dark.” I lied.

I’m sorry Auntu Louisa!

“Okay, be—be safe.” She said and I dashed out.

“Why are you standing outside your car! Are you trying to announce that you are here to pick me up? What if Jasper comes in and —-“

“Get in the car, Sloane.” His deep voice rang, low, intimidating but also teasing. He opened his car and so did I.

The drive was quiet, careful, and awkward. This is the first time we have been together after that day.

How can he share the same space without me after everything I dumped on him that day?

“Where are we going?” I asked, keeping my head straight.

“You’ll see.” He said, not sparing me a glance.

“Uhm, you’re not taking me somewhere to make me pay for what I said to you a few days ago as revenge, are you?” I asked, hands tightened around the bag I held, eyes flickering, throat bobbed.

I watched his head tilt towards me. Slowly I turned to him. Eyes locked on his, watching his beautiful eyes trace mine. His expression was unreadable. His lips curled into a smile, “Did you say something that I should get revenge on, Peach?” He asked, his deep voice rumbled through my chest.

I flickered, turning away. My cheeks burned. He was too close. “Never mind then.” I swallowed.

He turned, smiling, eyes on the road.

But seriously where are we going?

He took a turn, somewhat close to my school. Is he… taking me to school? At 8:25? At night?

The more we drove, the louder the music came in. And soon our car parked at the garage of a park—the sing-along block party park.

No way!

There is no way Xaden just brought me to Saint Diva’s concert.

“Did you—“

“I heard from Daisy that you kept staring at the poster but you never said anything about going.” Xaden muffled, unbuckling his belt. He unbuckled mine and opened my door. I stepped out, completely dazed. He stood in front of me, taking my bag. His hands dragged over my body, taking off the jacket I had used to hide my outfit when I left the house.

“I did not spend time at the boutique buying you these clothes so you could cover them with this ugly jacket.” He remarked.

“Xaden— this—“

He placed his finger on my lips, “Enjoy your party, Sloane. Oh also, uhm… I invited your friends so you won’t be alone. I’ll be right here, ready to take you home when you are ready, cool?”

My lips parted as I watched him. He invited my friends?

“Sloane!” I heard Daisy’s cheerful voice fill the car park, I turned, following her voice. And there she was, dressed in blue shorts and a backless top. Rave stood next to her in a black leather vest and shorts too.

Oh, they look super hot!

“Oh my God! Sloane you look breathtaking!” Rave screamed.

I giggled, biting my lips.

I love this! I love this so much.

“You guys!” I cheered running into their arms.

“Thanks for bringing her Xaden,” Daisy said.

“Anytime.”

“Wait, you’re not coming?” I asked, turning to Xaden.

“Nope, my job is to be your bodyguards tonight, so have fun.” He waved.

Daisy and Rave took my hands and we ran to the main crowd. As the song continued. The sing-along followed. Rave excuses herself and returns with three bottles of beer.

We sang along, danced, laughed, took pictures, laughed and danced and sang along.

It was a beautiful night. I had too much fun.

“Xaden!” I cheered, slightly tipsy… or maybe drunk.

“Xaden!” Rave and Daisy cheered behind me. We drank too much.

I think Xaden has a twin brother, there is another guy standing beside him.

“Xaden is good! Two Xaden… absolute best!”

“You’re drunk.” I heard him say.

“No I’m not… I have just consumed more alcohol than my body can handle.” I corrected.

“That’s the definition of drunk.” He said.

“Is it?”

“This is the best!” Rave cheered. “I wish this night didn’t end.”

“Okay girls, it’s 1 am, time to go home.”

I’m not sure how Xaden did it or what he did to the girls, but I think he brought them into his car. I was sitting in front of him.

“Let’s play some music! The night is still young!” Race said.

“Yes! Brilliant idea.” I affirmed, yanking out my phone and playing music.

And then we began singing along.

“Sloane, let’s go inside… we’re home.” I heard Xaden’s voice.

I miss Xaden.

I miss his lips.

I should kiss him.

I’m going to kiss him.

Oh… his lips are still as soft as ever.

Hmm… oh, I’m going to throw up.

“Good night, Sloane.” I heard his voice.

“Good night. Xaden.”
