Garm Green Eyes
Garm Green Eyes
LINCOLN
When Ghost texts me the bad news, I’ve already had my parents and trolls seated and waiting on Alpha Rafael for fifteen whole minutes. And, if that wasn’t enough to put me on edge, Ghost’s message was definitely going to do it.
Ghost: Red is not in her room.
Me: Fuck. Find her, and the moment you have her, don’t let her out of your sight.
Ghost: Are you sure that’s what you want me to do? Because the more I look at her, the more I want to.
Me: Not thinking that right now is the time to fuck with my head.
Ghost: Oh well if you’d just told her the truth you wouldn’t be down there pissing yourself.
Me: Find her.
Ghost: I’m on it, in fact, I’m following her trail right now. The Silly girl used an exuberant amount of perfume to disguise her scent. It probably would have worked if I hadn’t smelled the shit all over her bedroom, the devious little creature.
Me: Let me know the second you've got her.
Shit. She disguised her scent?
Perfume. She used perfume? There was a fog of perfume out by the front entrance when I was outside waiting for my mother, but I didn’t pay it any mind because for one - why would I? And two - it was a pretty common scent among Omegas.
Shit. Could Ginger have been watching downstairs when the Timberwolf girl showed up?
Nah. If she had been, I doubt she would have been able to maintain her cool. One thing I have learned about my Strawberry, is that she has an unforgivably hot temper. She fumes and boils, exploding even when it threatens her safety. If she had watched the Timberwolf girl arrive, she’d have made it here by now to wreak havoc for sure.
Then again, my mother is here and the one person in all of existence that Ginger seems unable to stand up to, is her.
Fuck.
“Where are these guests of yours, Lincoln?” My mother grumbled from the maternal end of the table. She and my father had taken their respective seats on opposite sides, despite that I was the Alpha now and the seat of power at the head of the table belonged to me. But, it was the way I wanted it for this particular dinner, because it placed Giselle directly across from me, where I could watch her and keep her from running once Alpha Rafael arrived. It also placed him on her right and a seat over from my mother. I wanted them both to have the spotlight when the hard questions were asked, after all, they fucking deserved it.
Unfortunately, Marsha was on my direct left, but as I was doing my very best to see through her, I didn’t consider it an immediate problem.
Ignoring my mother’s question, I scanned what I could see of the Eastern hall through the large open archways of the dining room, searching for a flash of dark red hair or an irritated Ghost. I found neither, however Rafael and his Beta were headed this way locked in a heated discussion and I tuned in as best I could, only catching a few words, none that made any immediate sense. When Rafael’s eyes caught mine, something flashed behind them that appeared a lot like anger, but as my gaze returned the sentiment and I stood, popping out of my seat into a defensive stance without entirely realizing it, he readjusted himself, relaxing his shoulders and planting a curious smile on his face.
The moment he stepped into the room, his eyes seemed to fix on my mother, who was, unsurprisingly, in the middle of a text-a-thon. He stared at her for a long hard moment, his eyes widening in shock as, I’m sure, he began to identify every little faceted detail that was so uniquely Zelda and began to garner precisely what I had that day I happened upon Giselle in Dread Wolf Territory among the rest of the Thunder Wolf Pack’s abducted females.
The irrefutable evidence that she, Giselle, was the splitting image of my mother right down to the flat of her feet.
“Querido Deusa,” Rafael’s Beta, Leon, hissed under his breath, his throat working overtime as he attempted to swallow his surprise.
Rafael’s gaze then turned toward the back of Giselle’s head and remained there for an exact count of ten before my father finally cleared his throat, shooting a bewildered glare in my direction and I stood, as was customary when greeting a guest of your rank in your home - something my father seemed to have forgotten. “Glad that you could finally join us, Alpha,” I said, forgoing his name with the sole purpose of preserving the moment. My mother and sister were still glued to their phones and not only was it rude, but it was embarrassing.
“Giselle!” Marsha snapped, kicking her under the table and then smiling up at me sweetly before readjusting her ladylike posture as well as her low-cut top.
She’s definitely filling out her resume for the Luna position.
Too bad she’s so underqualified.
“Allow me to apologize for my tardiness,” Rafael’s voice was deep and authoritative, resonating about the walls and calling every pair of ears in the room to attention. “I met someone very interesting while I went out for a smoke and it could not be helped.”
Giselle’s hand suddenly froze on the phone, her back stitching together one vertebrae at a time as her shoulders went tight with apprehension and her Garm green eyes lifted to mine.
I smiled, granting her her very first brotherly smile. One I’d never bestowed upon her before due to her constantly disappointing me. The shock on her face in that moment, the realization of whom I’d just allowed into our midst, it made me want to giggle like a schoolgirl.,This is only the bare minimum of what’s coming her way for what she’s done to Ginger, I have so much more planned. Truth be told, if I thought my mother could be trusted not to retaliate, I’d have Giselle beaten into the ground until her blood swathed the floor and she forgot her own name. Then I’d have her dragged to the dungeon bleeding and bruised. To spend an entire night of healing alone, exactly where brats like her belong.
“Lincoln,” she growled. “What are you-”
“Have you met Alpha Rafael yet, mother?” I asked without taking my eyes from Giselle’s. “He is the new ruler of the Thunder Wolf Pack.” My mother gasped and Giselle’s eyes filled with tears. “The very same pack that’s responsible for abusing your little girl.”
"Abusing?! What?!" Rafael roared.
Ginger’s pack.
