Chapter 188 A Title

Killian didn't push Lena anymore. Instead, he took on his responsibilities in their daily life.

He made every effort to attend the kids' school activities. Even when he had work commitments, he would try his best to adjust his schedule and rearrange his plans.

One evening, when Killian and Lena got home, Zoe ran over excitedly and handed them an information form.

She said the school was holding an event and hoped they could go.

When Lena saw the date of the activity, she couldn't help but freeze, because she had already scheduled a business trip that day and wouldn't even be in the city.

Killian immediately noticed her difficulty and hesitation. He smiled and patted Zoe's head, saying, "Since Zoe wants us to go, we'll definitely say yes."

"But your mom has something else going on this time, so I'll go with you, okay? I promise you, next time we get the chance, the whole family will go together."

Killian spoke in a gentle tone. Zoe glanced at Lena's face, then quickly nodded enthusiastically and said understandingly, "Okay!"

Lena felt relieved. She didn't want the kids to feel disappointed because of her.

Killian then took the information form and picked up a pen to fill it out carefully. But when he got to the relationship section, he paused slightly and chose to skip it.

Lena noticed this small detail, and it stirred something subtle in her heart.

Actually, Killian could have easily written that he and Zoe were father and daughter, but he chose to hold back.

He wasn't using Zoe to pressure her into making a decision. He was waiting for her to give him a clear answer.

After Killian finished filling out the form, he handed it to Zoe, who happily took it as if she had received some precious treasure.

Killian then put his arm around Lena and headed back to their room, but Lena was still lost in her thoughts.

"What's wrong, Lena?"

Killian also noticed something was off and asked softly, "You're not blaming yourself for not being able to go with Zoe, are you?"

He smiled and tried to comfort her, "It's a bit of a shame, but there will be other chances. I've had times when I couldn't make it too. We're the same."

He really cherished their family life now, especially the time spent with the kids.

The last family outing had shown him this kind of happiness and made him realize that all the wealth in the world couldn't compare to having a loving, peaceful family.

Having Lena and the four children felt like an incredible blessing, and he should be grateful.

"No, I..."

Lena looked up at Killian, then hesitated, not knowing how to express what she was feeling.

Although they were officially engaged in the public eye, this was just a reason to stabilize the Thorne family and satisfy outsiders. She still hadn't given Killian a real status.

Even though she could see how much Killian cared about her and the kids, she still hadn't made an immediate decision and kept hesitating.

Killian looked at her calmly, seeming to guess what she was thinking. He took her hand and said, "Lena, you don't need to worry so much. I know you have your considerations. Marriage is something between the two of us. I want you to follow your heart and make your decision, not be influenced by others."

"No matter how long you need to think about it, I'll wait. I let you carry so much alone, so waiting however long is only right."

He had come to understand that he couldn't force Lena, and he shouldn't try to change her just to satisfy his own wishes.

Marriage was a big deal for them, and something everyone would be watching. It was normal for Lena to have many considerations.

Their every move would become gossip for others, so naturally, they had to be careful.

Lena looked at Killian, pressed her lips together, and said, "But..."

Seeing her getting tangled up, Killian immediately interrupted, "No buts, Lena. You don't need to care about what others think. Make a bold choice - that's the Lena I fell in love with."

He loved the confident, brilliant Lena who shone so brightly, the one who could give her all for her dreams and career.

If Lena had to compromise herself for him, that would make Killian feel regretful.

The emotions that had been weighing on her heart slowly disappeared thanks to Killian's reassurance, and a smile appeared on Lena's face.

She really hadn't misjudged him. If she had impulsively chosen the wrong partner to spend her life with, she wouldn't have found happiness.

But in her eyes, Killian was clearly the right choice - someone who could quietly stand behind her and support her, who would constantly comfort her, help her think of ideas, and find solutions.

"Killian."

Lena couldn't resist wrapping her arms around Killian, resting her head on his chest. "Thank you."

"Thank me for what?" Killian smiled, gently patting her back. "Besides, I'm also the kids' dad. I should take on a father's responsibilities. Isn't it natural to attend their school activities?"

He wanted to get closer to the kids, to be part of their lives, to see their genuine smiles.

He had been absent for too long, so he hoped to make up for it as much as possible, so the kids wouldn't feel any regret.

He still had so much to do that he couldn't even begin to list it all.

Hearing Killian's words, Lena felt warmth in her heart and nodded gently. "You're already doing great. I'm sure the kids see it too."

The kids were smart - how could they not notice Killian's efforts to connect with them?

They had actually accepted Killian's presence long ago, but were just respecting their parents' wishes and not interfering.

If they really chose to be together, if they really chose to get married, the kids would definitely give their blessing and be happy for them.

"Really?" Killian replied with a smile. "But I feel like it's not enough yet. After all, I was absent for so many years. I should really make up for it. If they don't agree, I'd really be worried."

Lena playfully tapped his chest and said with a teasing smile, "Smooth talker. I've discovered that you really know how to talk - you really know how to charm the kids completely!"

"What about you?"

Killian asked with a smile, with a hint of testing in his tone.

Of course, Killian hoped Lena could fall for him, hoped she could fall in love with him again.

Lena didn't answer. She just leaned against him, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth.

The two embraced each other, their hearts close together, beating only for each other.
