“Tsk tsk tsk, why not be independent?
Isn’t celebrity money enough?
Why chase rich families?”
“People never stay satisfied…”
Amidst the chatter, Katherine finally grasped that Andrea had shown up here.
She pushed through the crowd, standing on tiptoes to see Andrea looking like a drowned rat, shielded by bodyguards into the luxury
van.
Katherine burst out laughing: “Serves Andrea right for once!”
As Andrea left, spectators gradually dispersed.
While wondering where Roy was, Katherine heard: “Auntie!”
“Richard?
Why aren’t you home yet?”
Katherine stared puzzled at shirtless Richard waving at her with a grin.
She hurried over: “Didn’t the driver come?”

Richard shook his head: “I told him to come ten minutes late.”
“Why?”
“You saw that woman earlier?
That was all me.”
Katherine froze: “You drenched her?”
She was still a bit fearful, having just been released herself. Would her nephew end up locked away this time?
Andrea was the woman Geoffrey had always cherished!
Richard grinned triumphantly: “It wasn’t just me, there were also-”
Before he could expose the other two kids, Jacob stepped out and told him: “Richard, your car’s here.”
Richard glanced outside.
The driver waved at him.
He forgot what he’d been saying: “Aunt Katherine, I’m leaving.”
“Bye.”
Katherine felt something was off.
Not dwelling on it, she led Jacob toward their car.
Maureen saw them approaching and asked: “What happened back there?”

Katherine pointed at Jacob: “Ask this one. He probably knows more than I do.”
Jacob blinked with pure confusion.
“Aunt Katherine, what do you mean?”
Playing dumb? Keep it up!
Katherine folded her arms: “Don’t pretend you didn’t see Andrea at
school earlier. She was drenched and utterly disheveled–though I was too far to see clearly.”
“Why would she come here?”
Maureen grew uneasy.
Jacob quickly explained: “Oh! Is that what you meant, Aunt Katherine?”
“Here’s what happened. She came to pick up one of our students. We were mopping the floor at the time. She slipped in her high heels.”
“And accidentally knocked over a bucket of water nearby.”
Katherine: “…That’s all?”
She quietly sighed in relief. At least her nephew hadn’t offended that scheming woman.
Jacob nodded: “What else?”
He’d prepared thoroughly to ensure Andrea couldn’t find any leverage.

Andrea did slip by herself, and the spilled water? That was their carefully staged “accident” – far more convincing than her acting.
Katherine choked back another question.
“Fine, forget I asked. But damn, that felt so satisfying.”
Meanwhile, inside the luxury van, an assistant carefully wiped dirty water from Andrea’s face while tending to her leg injuries.
Before finishing, Andrea’s phone rang.
Heather’s furious voice assaulted her the moment she answered:
“Andrea, what the hell? You begged me for this chance to pick up Willie! Is this how you repay me?”
“If you didn’t want to do it, you shouldn’t have come crawling to me! Still not pregnant? What good are you!”
He hung up before Andrea could explain.
Andrea clenched her fists in anger.
That brat Willie actually tattled to his family.
Andrea thought it over carefully; her fall was definitely those kids‘ doing.
How could the kindergarten hallway be so slippery? And right after she fell, that brat Willie and another kid showed up carrying a bucket of mopping water.
Then they “accidentally” dumped it all over her.

She never imagined she’d get played by some snot–nosed kid. Next time she saw him, she’d make him pay.
Just as she was fuming, her agent called.
“Andie, we’ve got trouble. Your song ‘Beacon of Hope‘ got sued–it’s blowing up online.”
“Wasn’t that settled already?”
Andrea sounded confused.
“Settled? Check the news yourself. Teacher Shi’s composition dropped four years ago. Your track’s 99% identical to hers.”
The agent was scrambling like ants on a hot griddle. “Now they’re suing for plagiarism plus abuse of power–says you had their lawyer locked up for a day.”
“Our assistant’s chat logs with Teacher Shi’s studio just got leaked
too.”
“Everyone says we couldn’t buy the song, so we stole it.”
After a barrage of words from her agent, Andrea felt dizzy and
overwhelmed.
“Let me see first.”
She forced herself to stay calm.
Opening her phone, she saw plagiarism accusations about her hit number one on trending topics.

Before Andrea could react, she saw her latest X post saying “Innocence needs no explanation” flooded with messages from fans and strangers alike.
?Tables turned! Fans who denied plagiarism earlier, see now??
?Innocence needs no explanation?
Andrea, care to explain why someone else’s track came out four years ago, while yours just dropped with 99% similarity??
?This isn’t plagiarism?
You’re not even a remixer – just copy–paste trash.?
?Spot on. Her only “original” touch was those cringy lyrics. Always wondered why they felt so off – like bad karaoke over decent music.?
