Chapter253
Living too comfortably domestically, he’d let his guard down and left his bodyguards behind.
“Geoffrey, do you think kidnapping me here will make Reenie take you back?”
A cold sneer curled Gareth’s lips.
“If she wanted to be with you again, she wouldn’t have had a child with me.”
Geoffrey’s handsome face darkened: “Oh?
Then what if you disappeared?”
“Robbing a child of their father will make her hate you even more.”
Gareth replied calmly.
As a man, he knew exactly how to wound another man’s heart.
The words struck Geoffrey’s soft spot.
But he wasn’t ready to let Gareth off.
His men kept kicking him repeatedly.
Gareth pressed his lips tight, refusing to make a sound.

Watching this, Wayne felt grudging admiration. Had this man not tried stealing another man’s wife, he’d truly be a real man.
After Gareth collapsed in a pool of blood, Geoffrey stood
“Throw him out. Whether he lives or dies, leave it to God.”
He never took lives directly.
“Yes.”
Geoffrey returned to the private residence Wayne had arranged. He showered to wash away the smell of blood.

When he changed and emerged, a medical team waited to examine him.
His eyesight might not return, but his memories–those he’d reclaim!
He refused to learn about his past with Maureen through others‘ accounts.
“Mr. Sutton, it seems your recent medication is taking effect. That explains these occasional flashes of memory.”
“You’ll need weekly treatments from now on. After each session, stay calm. I believe you’ll regain all your memories soon.”
the doctor said.
After finishing the treatment, Geoffrey returned home. It was already four in the afternoon.
Maureen hadn’t come back yet.
The neighbor next door knocked and brought over some homemade Smoked Bacon: “Alex, we made this ourselves. Take it.”
Geoffrey was about to refuse.
The neighbor probed: “Alex, have I seen you somewhere before?
You look just like a big star.”
Geoffrey thought about Alex appearing on TV and replied coldly: “We haven’t met.”
After saying that, he took out a check and handed it to the neighbor.
“Thanks for the food. Fill in the amount yourself.”
The neighbor looked at the check handed over, confused.
Geoffrey didn’t say another word and closed the door.
His current identity couldn’t be known by others yet, since the new company would take some time to set up.
Seeing his attitude, the neighbor got upset right away and didn’t take the check.
To the neighbor, what Geoffrey handed her was just a crumpled piece of paper.
Was he insane?

When Maureen came back, the neighbor couldn’t help pulling her aside: “Your husband’s handsome, but he’s odd. I brought you some vegetables, and he gave me this paper–told me to fill in any number I wanted.”
The neighbor chose her words carefully, avoiding outright calling Geoffrey crazy.
Maureen knew it was a misunderstanding but didn’t correct her, simply agreeing he was
eccentric.
“Thanks for the vegetables. Next time he’s home, don’t approach him. Wait for me instead.”
“Alright.”
The neighbor watched Maureen head inside, her expression softening with pity.
Such a lovely girl–why marry a blind and unstable man?
Hadn’t she heard Maureen was a high–society heiress who married into wealth?
Maureen had just returned from the hospital.
She’d visited Steven and had her prenatal checkup–everything was fine.
Pushing the door open, she saw Geoffrey busy in the kitchen, nearly burning his hand several times.
Maureen approached: “What are you doing?”
“Cooking.”
Geoffrey answered flatly, sprinkling sugar instead of salt without blinking.
“That’s sugar, not salt…”
Geoffrey’s hand paused.
“Wasn’t the salt placed here before?”
“We moved it after cooking last night.”
Maureen stepped forward. “Let me.

She didn’t want to take advantage of someone who couldn’t see.
But Geoffrey kept stirring the pan instead of handing it over.

“I’ll handle all meals from now on.”
Remembering what Gareth did in the kitchen yesterday, he’d hire the nation’s top chefs if he
could.
Too bad Maureen wouldn’t allow it.
Maureen’s mouth twitched at the dark concoction sizzling in the pan.
Would eating this daily actually kill them?
“Fine. Let’s hire a housekeeper for cooking.”
The caregiver stayed busy with Zoe around the clock.
Between cooking and cleaning, Maureen’s composing had fallen behind.
Geoffrey proved especially compliant. “Okay.”
“Stop cooking. We’ll order takeout later.”
Maureen heaved a long sigh.
When would this end? When would Geoffrey regain his memory?
Returning to the living room for quiet rest, Maureen’s phone rang–Betty Thomas calling from
overseas.
“BOSS, got new compositions lately?”
“Not yet. Why?”
“I’ve got a big order here. Some big shot specifically wants a new piece from you,”
Betty said.
Maureen frowned. “A buy out?”
She disliked this approach. If a piece was bought outright, it would no longer belong to her.
“Yeah, he’s offering a sky–high price for it,”
