Chapter251
Maureen had reached the kitchen doorway and was about to refuse them when Gareth said, “Mr. Sutton can’t see. Let me help you instead, Reenie.”
Geoffrey’s handsome face darkened further.
Seeing this, Maureen considered how Geoffrey had been stubbornly lingering here. Besides, he truly couldn’t see–claiming he wanted to learn cooking, yet all he’d mastered was boiling plain rice. He couldn’t help with anything else anyway, so she went along with it.
“Alright.”
Gareth shot Geoffrey a triumphant glance before following Maureen into the kitchen.
Geoffrey stood alone in the living room, listening to their laughter and chatter from the kitchen. It left an especially bitter taste in his mouth.
If he could see, he’d punch Gareth right this instant.
Geoffrey clenched his fist as fragmented memories surfaced inexplicably–scenes of him actually striking Gareth.
Had he attacked Gareth before?
Just as he struggled to recall more, footsteps echoed at the entrance again. Jacob had returned.
Jacob pushed the door open and immediately spotted Geoffrey sitting on the sofa with a thunderous expression.
He looked toward the kitchen and saw Mommy with Uncle Gareth, and immediately understood.
Jacob put down his schoolbag, walked over to Geoffrey, and sat down beside him.
“Feeling defeated?
I suggest you go back to the Sutton Family. With your status, plenty of women would throw themselves at you.‘

Jacob said with an air of calm authority.
Geoffrey raised his eyebrows slightly at that: “Before I leave, I want to ask you a question, Jacob.”
Jacob was taken aback.
“How do you know my name is Jacob?”
The student name registered at the kindergarten is Jacob. It was easy to find out.
Geoffrey didn’t answer but asked: “Ethan should be your twin brother, right?”
“Why do you have different last names?
Where is he now?”
Jacob brushed him off: “That’s because one of us took Mom’s last name and the other took Dad’s. You didn’t even know that? Dumb.”
“Ethan lives with Dad now. What, are you planning to kidnap him too?”
Geoffrey had no such intention.
He brought Jacob back to make Maureen happy, but now Reenie barely talks to him.
Jacob saw he wasn’t speaking and thought he had him under control.
Wanting payback for having to call him dad after losing yesterday, he kept taunting:
“If it weren’t for you, Mommy and Daddy would’ve married ages ago. Just back off already.”
“Someone said the unloved one is the homewrecker.”
The moment he finished, Geoffrey rapped his knuckles on Jacob’s head.
Geoffrey turned stern: “I won’t hear that twice. Stop browsing toxic nonsense online.”
Jacob knew his words were wrong–he’d just been testing his deadbeat dad.
Seemed the deadbeat wasn’t hopeless after all, knowing that was messed up.
He rubbed his head: “Why not ask who said it?”
“Who?”

9:
“Andrea. Your precious dream girl.”
Jacob had no clue where he’d picked up that “dream girl” nonsense.
He’d found it while snooping through Andrea’s private accounts on her alt profile.
Back then, his heart ached for Mommy.
Mommy and Geoffrey were legally married, yet Andrea painted her as the other woman!
Jacob was seething with anger while Geoffrey looked utterly bewildered.
He had no memory of Andrea whatsoever.
But judging by the kid’s tone, it didn’t seem like a lie.
“You’re saying she came between Reenie and me?”
“Figure it out yourself. Telling you now is pointless since you don’t remember.‘
་་
Jacob suddenly added, “If you want me to tell you, you’ll have to call me ‘Dad‘.”
Geoffrey’s handsome face darkened briefly before returning to normal.
“You really want me to say it?”
“Yeah.”
Jacob stared straight at him.
Geoffrey pulled out his phone, opening the messages app for Jacob to see.
“I think Reenie should know about your little trip to the private club.”
That instantly had Jacob cornered:
Though he could explain, a kid visiting such places would definitely upset his mom.
“Knew you were up to no good.”
Jacob clenched his little fists. Geoffrey hoisted him up by the collar from behind.
“Still want me to call you ‘Dad‘ now?”
“Hmph.”

“Tell me. What were you doing there?”
Jacob pressed his lips tightly together, refusing.
“It’s a secret. Can’t tell you. But I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Geoffrey didn’t press further.
Maureen had nearly finished preparing the meal in the kitchen.
She stepped out: “Jacob, ask the caregiver to bring Grandma down for dinner.”
Jacob wriggled out of Geoffrey’s grasp and went upstairs to fetch Zoe.
Ten minutes later.
The atmosphere was particularly strange in the dining room.
Zoe had deliberately invited Gareth over to make Geoffrey understand he was the extra
person.
She purposely seated Maureen beside Gareth, placing Geoffrey opposite them.
“Aunt Yun, are you feeling better now?”
Gareth asked familiarly.
Zoe smiled warmly: “Much better.
“That’s good.”
