She looked at the spread on the table: porridge, bread, milk, fruit, and more covering the surface.
Hearing her footsteps, Geoffrey turned:
“I didn’t know your preferences, so I got a bit of everything.”
“Also, here’s the receipt.”
Maureen stared at the slip he handed over, genuinely surprised he’d actually listened.
“But aren’t you blind?
How’d you manage this?”
Geoffrey slid a glass of milk toward her: “Voice commands on the phone.”
Maureen didn’t press further, sipping the milk.
It’d been warmed and still steamed slightly.
After nibbling some bread, she tested him: “I never liked store–bought breakfasts.”
Geoffrey froze for a beat: “But I can’t cook.”
He’d tried making breakfast earlier but failed completely.
After his amnesia, Wayne showed him old work files–he’d handled those effortlessly.
But cooking? Utterly clueless.
“Then how’d you do it before?”
Maureen pressed.
She remembered those photos Andrea sent her years back.
When Andrea and Geoffrey were together, he’d cooked gourmet meals daily.
Geoffrey choked up: “Probably forgot.”

Maureen took another sip of milk and murmured: “I didn’t know how to cook before either, all because you said eating out isn’t clean.”
“I can learn.”
Geoffrey said immediately,
“Good.”
“Then learn well.”
Maureen didn’t want to waste food, finished the breakfast on the table, and when she got up to leave, couldn’t help but remind him.
“When you cook, don’t burn your hand.”
She just mentioned it casually, but Geoffrey took it to heart and was especially happy.
That day, apart from learning Braille and reviewing past documents, he started studying cooking.
Zoe and Maureen were both in the kitchen, surprised by Geoffrey listening to cooking videos on his phone.
On the other side.
The Sutton Family.
After Alex returned, he lived in the place where Geoffrey lived.
Because Geoffrey’s injury was kept secret very well by Heather, outsiders only heard rumors about his blindness.
So, even Nicholas and Edward, who knew Geoffrey had a twin brother, didn’t guess that the one in charge of the Sutton Group now was no longer the real Geoffrey.
Besides, Alex had a serious illness since childhood and basically couldn’t go out.
Before he reached adulthood, his condition worsened, and he was sent abroad for treatment, becoming a useless person.
Who would have thought he could be cured and return?

Heather had been filling Alex in on everything that had happened to Geoff over the years these past few days.
Alex sat in his chair, listening silently. His face, as handsome as Geoff’s, held an unusually gentle look in his eyes.
“Mom, are you asking me to spend my whole life as him?”
Just as Heather was in full swing, Alex suddenly looked up and asked her.
Heather froze. Though her expression remained calm, her hands clenched tightly:
“Alex, the doctors say your brother is blind. He’ll never recover.”
“Even if Geoff regains his memories, the Sutton Group won’t let a blind man remain CEO forever.”
Her meaning couldn’t have been clearer.
Hearing this, Alex asked nothing more. He stood up to leave.
“Where are you going?”
Heather feared if he went out now, someone might notice something unusual.
“Don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere. Just need to clear my head outside.”
Alex gazed out at the vast expanse of snow. “These years… I’ve lived a heavy life.”
Wanting to wander aimlessly, Alex unexpectedly spotted two little ones.
Jacob came to the Sutton residence with Willie today, supposedly to meet the man Heather had found to pose as his father.
Truth was, he wanted to see who’d taken his deadbeat dad’s place.
That’s why he’d specifically asked Willie to bring him to Geoffrey’s wing of the estate.
“Jacob, guess he’s not here today. Bummer, we missed him.”
Willie sighed dramatically.
He’d been itching to team up with Jacob and teach that deadbeat abandoning his family a
lesson.

Jacob couldn’t care less internally, but played along: “If you ever spot him, call me right away:”
“Deal!”
Willie thumped his chest, adding, “When I become president of the Sutton Group. I’ll have him torn apart.”
Kid wasn’t even grown yet but already reeked of future tyrant.
Wonder where he picked that up.
Jacob kept humoring him when his gaze suddenly locked onto a towering figure in the distance.
Alex stood in the snowdrift, draped in a black overcoat, his almond–shaped eyes fixed on the pair.
His facial features mirrored Geoffrey’s perfectly, yet Jacob instantly knew this wasn’t his deadbeat dad.
First, that terrible father was still in Small Town; second, as a twin, Jacob was more perceptive than others and could tell from his demeanor that he wasn’t Geoffrey.
When Alex saw Jacob, he was slightly taken aback.
This child somewhat resembled him and his brother when they were young.
