Journalists excitedly reported: “Geoffrey attends shareholders‘ meeting–his eyes show no impairment!”
“Corporate Headquarters shareholders‘ gathering abruptly suspended.”
Online commentators went wild: “Truly worthy of Corporate Giant’s CEO–utterly magnificent!”
“I’d have his babies.”
“I’ve forgotten he’s scum–looks trump morals.”
Maureen’s pupils constricted when she saw the news.
Geoffrey?
Impossible?
She immediately glanced sideways. Geoffrey was still studying braille, oblivious to the television.
The man onscreen wasn’t Geoffrey at all–it was Alex!
After over a decade, Maureen finally saw Alex clearly, distinguishing the twins.
At first glance, their faces remained identical, indistinguishable.
Maureen’s heart seemed to stop. Clenching her fists, she nearly charged toward Alex to demand: What was going on? Why?
A phone call snapped Maureen back to reality. She answered–it was Katherine calling.
“Reenie, didn’t you say Geoffrey was blind?
v?
And he’s living with you now?
Then who’s that on TV?”
“Alex, his twin brother,”

Maureen replied.
“What?
He has a twin brother?”
Katherine’s jaw practically hit the floor.
“Mhm.”
“Then where’s Geoffrey?
Show him to me, quick!”
Katherine was dying to know what blind Geoffrey looked like staying at Maureen’s place.
Maureen secretly snapped a photo and sent it over.
Staring at Geoffrey’s striking profile as he sat in the living room, Katherine looked utterly bewildered.
“So the Sutton Family replaced him?”
“Mhm.”
“1
“Suddenly I feel awful for him…”
Blinded and dumped on Maureen by the Suttons, now even his identity got usurped by his brother.
Katherine was about to gossip more when Jacob came out, so she hung up right away.
“Jacob, how come you’re back already?
Did school let out early today?”
Katherine took Jacob back to kindergarten.
Jacob had been at the door early and overheard everything–that jerk had moved in with Mom because he lost his memory and went blind.
No wonder Mom couldn’t wait to send him to Aunt Katherine’s place.
“Yeah, the teacher said it’s getting cold, so we get out early on Fridays.

Aunt Katherine, didn’t the teacher say so in the group chat?”
Katherine smacked her forehead: “Sorry, I forgot to check the group messages.‘
There was no driver now, so Jacob had walked back by himself.
Feeling guilty, Katherine lunged at him.
“Come here, let Auntie give you a kiss to apologize.”
Seeing this, Jacob dodged away with a look of disgust.
“No.”
“Okay then.”
Katherine couldn’t help but feel disappointed.
Seeing this, Jacob said: “Aunt Katherine, if you feel guilty, take me back to Small Town this weekend, and we can spend it with Mom.”
He also wanted to see how that jerk was doing now.
“No.”
Katherine refused immediately; she had promised Maureen not to let Jacob come into contact with Geoffrey.
Jacob said calmly: “I saw a news report the other day about a five–year–old kid who got into a car accident walking home alone.”
“And another six–year–old got snatched by traffickers because he was heading home by himself…”
Katherine: “.
“This little brat just wants to make me feel guilty.
“I promise I’ll never forget to pick you up after school again.”
Katherine swore.
“Then I want to go to a classmate’s house this weekend.”
“Okay”
Katherine agreed right away.

She had no clue what Jacob was plotting.
He’d wanted to tell Katherine about the classmate visit from the start, but worried she’d say
So he first said he’d go back to Small Town this weekend, Katherine refused, then he suggested the classmate’s house.
People often settle for compromises. Like if you ask to open a door in a hot room and get turned down, suggesting a window might get a yes.
Today, after Jacob got back to kindergarten, all the kids asked where he’d been.
Jacob brushed them off casually.
Willie whispered to him: “You don’t know, but since you vanished, Aunt Heather’s been searching for you.”
“And she even tracked down your dad these last few days.”
Jacob looked baffled, wondering if Heather knew he was Geoffrey’s kid.
“Did she say who my dad is?”
Willie shook his head: “Never mentioned.”
“But I’ve seen him–tall, really handsome.”
Hearing this, Jacob knew Willie had mistaken the person.
If it were Geoffrey, he’d recognize him and wouldn’t describe him as tall and handsome.
“Does he live at your place?”
“No, but he’s been visiting Grandma Gu these past two days.”
Willie replied.
He then looked puzzled: “Why d’you ask? Don’t you know where your dad lives?”
Jacob sighed: “He abandoned Mom and me when I was born. Never laid eyes on him.”
“Come to my house tomorrow. Might catch him there.”
Willie hadn’t realized how rough Jacob had it.

“Alright.”
Jacob agreed instantly.
The Sutton family fortune was on the verge of being taken over.
Though he despised that bastard, he wouldn’t let others snatch what was rightfully his.
