Chapter 247 Brandon: Why Don't You Call Her Mom Anymore
Thinking about this, Brandon's expression changed again and again.
Elijah was also lost in thought at the moment.
He was thinking about the same thing as Brandon.
Because he had also heard Yasmin call out Mom just now.
She probably didn't call out the wrong name, and he didn't mishear either.
Actually, a long time ago, he had suspected that Yasmin might be Candice's daughter.
Because Candice treated Yasmin differently.
And Elijah spent every day with Yasmin, so he had an even more genuine sense of it.
They always seemed to understand each other!
So this feeling definitely wasn't something ordinary people could have!
Thinking of this, Elijah suddenly felt a little excited.
He had a little sister!
And they might even be twins!
Elijah's gaze suddenly became intense, looking at Yasmin with excitement and joy.
His stare was so burning that Yasmin noticed it too.
She came to her senses now, feeling very guilty.
Oh no!
Her identity was about to be exposed! What should she do?
It was all her fault for being too anxious and calling out "Mom." Brandon and Elijah must have both heard it!
Yasmin instinctively glanced at Elijah, and seeing him also looking at her, she quickly looked away in fright.
Candice saw their interaction, and her heart sank.
Actually, her mind was in chaos too. She had worked so hard to hide Yasmin's identity, but it was unexpectedly exposed early due to an accident.
She hadn't even gotten custody of Elijah yet, and now Yasmin's identity had been discovered too.
She didn't know how Brandon would question her about this next.
Would he fight her for Yasmin?
The more she thought about it, the more tense Candice became.
Anais noticed and asked, "Does it hurt a lot?"
Candice's thoughts were interrupted. She came back to her senses and quickly shook her head, saying, "No, please continue."
As soon as she finished speaking, she felt a sharp pain.
Anais had just applied the medicine. Even though it was cool, it still caused some stinging on the fresh wound!
Candice's face turned pale from the pain.
Seeing this, Brandon said to Anais in a low voice, "Be gentler."
Anais muttered, "I'm already being gentle. It's the medicine. It'll be fine once the bandaging is done."
Brandon knew that pain from applying medicine and bandaging was unavoidable. He looked at Candice with some sympathy in his eyes.
Soon, Anais finished the bandaging and breathed a sigh of relief. "Fortunately, the glass shards didn't go in too deep. Remember to change the dressing on time every day. You know the precautions better than I do, so I won't go over them with you."
"Okay." Candice nodded and responded, "I know!"
When she got up from the hospital bed, her eyes suddenly met Brandon's.
His eyes were very dark and seemed somewhat sharp.
Candice paused for a moment, then pretended nothing was wrong and looked away, saying to the children, "Let's go check on Theo. He was hurt very badly! I wonder how he's doing!"
If Theo hadn't been driving at the time, she would have been the one so seriously injured now.
Theo had basically taken most of the damage for her.
"Okay!"
The two little ones naturally had no objection to Candice's decision.
Brandon didn't say anything either and followed them to the medical room next door.
By now, the research facility staff were already cleaning Theo's wounds.
He was hurt much worse than Candice.
When Dash had smashed that stick down on the car window, he had used enough force to kill someone.
Theo, unprepared in the driver's seat with no way to dodge, naturally bore more of the impact.
Even his face had glass shards embedded in it, his whole face covered in blood—a shocking sight.
Candice didn't want to scare the two children, so she stopped them, saying, "Elijah, take Yasmin and wait outside."
"Okay!"
The two little ones had also seen Theo's injuries and were scared, so they agreed.
Brandon stayed outside with them, along with Holden.
He asked Holden, "What happened? Why didn't you protect her properly?"
His voice was low, and he gave off a cold aura.
Holden sensed from him a presence and intimidating force similar to Caspian's, or even stronger, which made him feel an inexplicable sense of awe.
"We arrived at the kindergarten a bit late today, and there were lots of parents and children outside."
"That person was hiding among those children and parents, and we didn't notice at first. Plus, Dash attacked too quickly!"
"It caused panic in the crowd, and the scene was too chaotic with people pushing against each other, so by the time I rushed forward, I was a few seconds late."
Brandon could imagine the scene. Holden couldn't help it, but his expression was still very grim.
He asked coldly, "What's Dash's situation now?"
Holden said, "I just contacted my people. Dash has been transferred to the police station, and everything at the kindergarten has been handled. The frightened parents and children have all been calmed down!"
After hearing this, Brandon turned back with a cold expression and instructed Knox, "Go to the police station and handle the follow-up. Intentional assault, causing public panic, causing serious injury—charge him as heavily as the law allows!"
"Okay, I'll go right away!"
Knox immediately turned and left.
Seeing him take over the matter, Holden couldn't stop them from getting involved. He could only say, "Thank you, Mr. Obelon."
"It's the right thing to do!"
Brandon's expression returned to being cool, completely treating this as his own matter to handle.
They said nothing more.
Yasmin looked up at the two adults, quietly observing. She felt that Brandon's low pressure was somewhat frightening!
After waiting for another half hour, Candice finally came out of the medical room.
Theo's injuries had been treated.
He was basically fine. They were mostly superficial wounds that looked scary but weren't actually that serious.
However, just to be safe, Candice still had him stay here for observation tonight.
She had worked all day, and so much had happened. She had just gone in to help Theo deal with a dangerous piece of glass, and now she was completely exhausted.
When Candice came out, she said to everyone, "Let's go back!"
Brandon said nothing and soon took her and the two little ones home.
No one spoke on the way.
When they got home, dinner was already prepared.
Just as Candice was anxiously wondering if Brandon would start asking her about Yasmin...
Brandon did speak up, but what he said was, "You must all be hungry, right? Let's eat first."
The two little ones were very well-behaved.
After washing their hands, they obediently sat at the dining table and quietly ate, not forgetting to help Candice, who could only eat with one hand.
Yasmin felt so bad for her that she helped serve her food, saying, "Candice, eat this."
As soon as she finished speaking, Brandon suddenly said coolly from the side, "Why aren't you calling her Mom anymore?"
